Okay, so apparently someone ripped the songs outta the PSN PS3 version of the game.... and that Leo song is the legit deal. Which makes me wonder what the fuck's going on. I mean, if that shit's fake, someone put a good amount of effort on what amounts to a legit sounding fake.
-
Good thing I went in with skepticism. Sad to be let down, but it sounds good nonetheless (even if it is a fake from some cheap-ass dweebus looking to cash in on views).
-
Not 100% sure if this is fake or not (the instrumentation SOUNDS legit) but someone *apparently* uploaded Leo's theme. I dunno how they did it, but they *seem* to have done so. Note the emphasis on skepticism. It's on Youtube if anyone wants to confirm.

PCB did this?! Interesting. Do you have a screenshot of their logo in the credits, by any chance?

Hey, look on the bright side: at least she's devoid of her self-destruct sequence CA. That would've given her a nice fat room in the banlist condos. -

Honestly? Play whoever you want. This game has me going and checking out the animes of the characters that I don't know (almost finished with Black Bullet, and probably gonna start on Sakurasou soon). I mean, I like to think of him as a slimmer Waldstein. A shorter, slimmer Waldstein capable of throwing almost everything but the kitchen sink at you. Same way I see Shana as a fire-aspected, cape-wearing tsundere version of Hyde. Kirito is Seth with swords instead of knives (but has one of em hidden almost all the time). Asuna is Orie without the Persona, Yukina's basically Koro-less Ken, Rentaro is a fusion of Akatsuki and Eltnum, and Miyuki seems to be a less ghastly form of Hilda. I could go on, but I'm not sure if it'd be worth the time to rant about the similarities I see in each of the characters compared to others. I mean, hell, Akira doesn't even play anywhere near close to his style in VF5. Btw, in case anyone's wondering: the crystallized school building stage is a 7th Dragon 2020 stage, while the pink crystal Tron-esque stage is a Virtual On stage. And the gloomy castle that looks like it's on fire or set for some ritual? That's a replica of the final boss room in the PS2 version of Shinobi (I've seen that room more than I'd like to admit). -

I see. So basically, you wanna be on the ground when you anticipate it coming. Is the range on it enough to where I could plausibly, say, counterattack with Enju's divekick after block? Or are they both safe on block? -

Does anyone know if Taiga's Trump Card has a weakness? Because it SEEMS like it's really powerful when used as a reversal (taking out what seems to be 1/3rd of a bar, from the matches I saw it used in), and that would really make fighting any Aisakas a pain in the oshiri. -

I see. Any info on the following assists: Tatsuya Shiba and Sadao Mao? Though tbh, I don't know why I'm so eager to help out with this. It's just going to get discarded for Xrd soon anyways. Just like almost every other animu fighter (especially this one - it's got too many things that Pro-FGC, anti-anime peeps hate the living fuck out of). -

I think you guys should try them all out. I'm noticing way too few peeps experimenting and sticking to basic assists (Leafa/Kino/Enju/Touma). Granted, I also see Koko assists used (not to mention Koujou who seems to be really powerful from a glance, but not enough info to tell), but really - the more we know about everything, the better our choices will be. Particularly, I'd like to see some research done on Erio/Shiina/Tatsuya and the other not-so-used assists. Because all we've had to go on is observational assumptions, without any real work done on everything else (not to mention the amount of people who haven't heard of like, 90% of the roster, only coming in because Akira (*snark*) and Selvaria). -

I've seen quite a few Enju pairs as well. Perhaps its her moe factor or something like that. ... Actually I think it's her divekick-esque stuff. It covers the top screen quite well if you know how to use it. TBH, I feel like there's more to this game than we realize, but people are just dismissing it because it lacks a fancy kind of mechanic akin to UNIEL or GGXrd. If you ask me, though, I think people are extremely biased towards the old styles - which is why they love those games in particular (some peeps are just too scared to try new things). Maybe when I get the game, I'll experiment with different pairs. -

Picked Kirito partly because of the playstyle, partly because he's a dude (I tend to scout out shonen-types early on, or find the toughest woman in the cast if there is no male fitting that category), and partly because his Color 6 is a shout out to Elsword (which is why I felt like picking Leafa Color 3 or 10 - which could also reference Rena and Elesis respectively). My alternative choice (assuming Kirito was hard to play) was going to be Yukina, but I guess Kirito got the goods. 'Course I still have to get the game - $60 is SO not my budget right now. Oh well, least gives me time to study Kirito tech. -

From your avatar alone (Rentaro main, I assume?) I totally expected that response. With that said, I do indeed agree with your sentiments - Enju assist is totally BA when paired with Tomoka. -

Sounds good. Btw, what's the learning curve look like on, say, Kirito? Is he as hard to play as I've heard UNIEL's Seth being (a friend on PSN who was stoked for UNIEL told me he was pretty hard to play with)? And in terms of assists, who would you say has good synergy with him? -

So wait... you just take risks and hope the Japanese don't see you as some offensively weird gaijin weeb? Because part of the reason I care to learn the "truth" (if I can call it that anymore, since now I'm not sure) is simply because I know America's more culturally dickish (at least from what I've seen - met more disrespectful jackasses than respectful) and I've heard that kind of attitude won't fly over in those parts. It's more like... how do I put this? I'm trying not to hit any insult flags with those guys, as I don't know what might be culturally insensitive to them. That sound comprehensible*? *Note: I lack a better word for this, but trying to understand other cultures is something I've never really been good at, on account of people telling me to worry more about "being American". -

Of course I know about it. I just dropped it midway into the second season because I was just uninterested with shit in general (as usual). Having seen a few clips of Gintama myself, I'm starting to wonder if Japan isn't even crazier than I am. And people call me that quite often (if not that, then "annoying" would be the other word they use). And yeah... Japanese pop culture is something I don't think I'll ever truly understand (generally because people like to troll me into their version of "the truth"). Having said that, I'm not capable of getting this game atm ($50-60 is extremely out of my price range, and I'm not expecting serious XMas moola this year), but if I were, I'd pick Kirito 14/Sadao 12, Yukina 11/Enju 11, or Kirito 6/Leafa 10 (on account of those colors being a reference to another game that I'll let you guess). Note: The numbers denote the alt colors. -

That's... slightly disturbing. Though what the hell... I still can't comprehend how I feel about it. I mean, on one hand, the line's really coming off with some sorta pedo-ish vibe; on the other hand, perhaps Japan sees big value in the potential of children (considering that Children's Day is part of the Golden Week celebrations, IIRC)? -

They're saying "Shougakusei wa saikou daze", which literally translates to "Elementary schoolers are the best". I think Subaru said it at one point during the anime (though because of the story's whole plot bits it could be misunderstood to be a Lolicon's battlecry; take that for what you will). -

Okay, so we both had no idea wtf I was talking about (and I don't think I got much of what you were saying either). Also, I was responding to the anime bit, and this one seems to be set during CT if the trailer says anything. Also, yeah. I'm just as much a novice to the series as any other scrub it seems. Hoping things will get better once BBCP comes out in October (assuming that's the NA Release), because the way I see it, I'm not seeing much progress in BBCSE. -

Oh really? I didn't get that during their little Calamity Trigger Re:Dux fight; but then again, you might be referencing the ORIGINAL Calamity Trigger, which I have not played. So I can claim lack of knowledge based on a lack of experience here. And in case you weren't aware (or it wasn't painfully obvious enough for you), I'm talking about her obvious copy-pasta appearance in BB:CSEX. That's where I was talking about her soulless appearance. -
[CP] News & Gameplay Discussion (Old)
Renvalt replied to kosmos badgirl's topic in BlazBlue Gameplay
So tell me, why wasn't she more emotional in the actual fight itself? ArkSys couldn't afford to do separate voices for Nu, and just used the droll, soulless voice from Lambda-11? I mean, heck, Ragna VS Jin/Hakumen at least has alternate lines - they couldn't be bothered to trigger alternate lines for Nu/U.Lambda VS Ragna? That just screams incompetence and either improper use of budget or one that's lacking altogether. Story mode and out of combat, sure I'll admit she's crazy, but why the hell'd they have to be cheap and not make it unique whilst in combat as well? Really makes me question the competence of ArkSys sometimes. Sure, can't do anything about it now, but y'know, why was it never considered before? EDIT: Ninja reply. Yeah, well, Mori seems to think otherwise. And besides, if Lambda was that effective, why not have Kokonoe manufacture another one based off of Lambda? I get that Lambda was salvaged, but couldn't Kokonoe have innovated and created a pseudo-Murakumo Unit in that short amount of time? Or.... is she putting all her chips into the two baskets called Iron Tager and Makoto Nanaya? At this point, all signs point to Kokonoe being more of an idiot than she seems. -

However, in all seriousness, they made Nu-13 have a fuckton more emotion for this anime compared to even her in-game form. I mean, game-wise, all Nu-13 is at this point is just the base for the palette swap atrocity that is Lambda-11. And IMHO, that should've been Kokonoe's spot at the very least. But eh, at least Lambda's existence was pretty useful, plot-wise. -
Is this a terrible mentality to have whilst learning FGs?
Renvalt replied to Renvalt's topic in Beginner Mode
I'd always thought it'd help bring me back down to earth, in the event I got complacent and arrogant (or y'know, started being an elitist jerk who thinks he'll always win because of his skill). Also, I have to ask: should I write stuff down too or do you essentially want me to see what I did wrong and memorize it? Because I do have terrible memory issues (especially when I'm depressed). Okay, so based on this I can think of a number of reasons why I've been failing at blocking: Either the game isn't registering 4 along with 2 and is just seeing 2 (despite me thinking I hit 4 with 2 to make 1) or my opponent is switching to high attacks and somehow I don't notice it (this is far more plausible as I still have no idea which attacks hit high and which hit low - then again I didn't pay all that much attention to it before). No wonder. We play on two different consoles. ... Which gets me thinking: Why the hell did I think I lost to you when you're XBL and I'm PSN (thus, we couldn't have played because of that)? Mind-boggling, that. -
Is this a terrible mentality to have whilst learning FGs?
Renvalt replied to Renvalt's topic in Beginner Mode
@Nemesis - I agree with you. Having all of what's been said here enabled me to really think and try to get more precise answers to some of the questions that I've been asking myself for a while. While there are some I just can't answer (yet, at least), at least it's gotten me thinking about things in the long run. @DuskThanatos - I'm usually afraid of saving replays as I don't know how many I can save before I max out and have to start overwriting older replays - and those might be useful even in the distant future. Also, I'm terrible at keeping track of time, but I'm sure that perhaps my execution problem might get better with daily amounts of 15-minute sessions (particularly my DP moves - always been my bane in FGs). @Solless - I believe it was a match not too long ago against two scrubs and a guy who didn't talk but was plenty powerful. Losing against him didn't feel as bad as having to hear that outright annoying pessimism coming from the two other guys who were in the room with me (and they had mics - so I PERSONALLY had to hear it). It reminded me of a low I didn't want to sink to. I was very tame about the whole thing, but I noticed I was acting a lot like you guys do in regards to me. @DerQ - That's what I've tried to do. I've had people tell me I'm thinking too much about it, people who say I'm not doing it heavily enough, and people who flat out say "u suk lrn2play nub" (the amount of people in the third category is as close to none as possible, though I saw them more in SF4 than I have anywhere else). With that said, I think some of the biggest issues I've had are: a lack of blocking, crouch-blocking more than standing-blocks when I DO block, and not really applying pressure when I have it. The first and second kinda go hand-in-hand, but with the third I've found the issue stemming from the fear of dropping whatever combo I have and instantly losing any and all pressure that I gained, effectively resetting the field to neutral (and most of my opponents figure out to do something about it before I can get my advantage back). So while I'll try and attack afterwards, it's the lack of knowing what to do and being afraid that what I am doing might get me sent back into the corner that prevents me from capitalizing on what momentum I have. Also, one of my biggest issues: a huge lack of character loyalty. Each character has pros and cons to them, but a lot of times I tend to focus on what I don't like about characters rather than what I do like. Playing every character hasn't really fixed this, but it's helped me figure out which characters I absolutely HATE playing (Rachel and Arakune being the two biggest offenders here - Arakune is 1st Place Big Fail for me). In the end, all of this wisdom is good, if not for the fact that I'm thinking about stuff again. P.S. I thought mics added to netplay lag? I've had a couple peeps here say that to me when they played against me, which is why I don't use my mic all that often, as I don't want to be singled out as the guy making everyone else lag.
