Blazblue: Short Stories and Novel Discussion
AeternumSomnium replied to zephyr07's topic in Zepp Museum
and is keeping it as a secret. YEP THAT'S BLAZBLUE RIGHT THERE. LOL between this, the fragmented phase shift info, and the warped story line I have no idea what's going on--fuckin BB man -
You have my humblest apologies, that is awfully unfortunate. I've been victim to that a few times. However I am indeed one of those people, I too hate Noel beyond all measure. As a character and an opponent. I suppose I have my failure to beat my cheap as hell roommate for that. I cringe at just hearing her voice. (Especially her japanese voice, ugh) I won't be happy till I can overcome my roomies bullshit I suppose. Everyone has their reasons ha

Shit I forgot all about that, that gives me a little bit of hope there's SOME substance to his character beyond just being evil for shits and giggles. It's almost like they're trying to be obscure and difficult. On that note now I'm really bloody curious about the guy's past. I guess The most we can really do is hope that he gets more background info (And everyone else for that matter--moar Valkenhayn please) in the next installment in the series. (They better fucking end it this third one--at least this story)

I agree, especially if it's from a Bang or Lamda--considering how difficult it is to land their astrals (Not to mention the God awful input)

Definitely seeing a pattern with anti ragequitting. I've never ragequit before but God damn I'm angry enough to half the time. This game really brings out the rage in me. A lot of ragers and rage quitters online seem to really boil when you are beating them but personally, I get most angry when I mess shit up; especially combos I do all the time. >Messed up a bread and butter combo I do all the time the other night >Cost me the match I nearly chucked my controller through the screen lol. It just feels so stupid, it's like losing to lag. Meh.

Keep in mind I'm referring to the OG Terumi, the man in the six heroes. (Pre fusion) Not Kazuma or Hazama. The original one just kind of- -snapped and went mad. There's some hints that it was after a mistake involving the black beast (and perhaps out of some twisted mental breakdown) he went crazy. But it doesn't really explain why he truly is just a bad guy (and kills Nine). He just kind of was normal, went nuts, killed a bitch, and from that point on (and the Kazuma fusion) just lost it. While some don't have method to madness, I would kill for at least a generic--tragic backstory for him to have, so at least I can be like, "Alright fair enough you crazy nigga" I have to go back to this again, if this is the case then I suppose we will never know the crossed wiring that led to Terumi betraying the heroes. The astral form is at least kind of explained--him driving himself out of the Susanoo unit, even the possibility of there being a doppleganger Relius made for him to leap around too towards the true end. (Perhaps explaining why in the alternate ending of someone's story he nonchalantly throws himself into the cauldron.) Sorry to get back into this again, it's just kind of bugging me. Again I suppose, we can blame the warped plot structure.

That saddens me. You'd hope it'd be something a bit more--eloquent then that but. . .I guess not. For the most part, it seems that he's either just nuts from the beginning or he is just a complete manifestation of dissent. I would be happy with even the latter but. . .I'm assuming that's to easy, and considering the God awful mess the plot is, it's probably going to be (if revealed) more warped then I ever would have guessed.

So, don't get mad if this has been done before. I'll delete this if this topic has already been done a few times but uhhh... Does anyone know why Terumi is/was such a fucking asshole? What the hell happened to him? You can go on the wiki and look around and there's tidbits on him and the fusion with Kazuma, and Phase shift 1 is in Japanese still if I recall. So, why the hell is he such a dick? Don't get me wrong, I love Hazama/Terumi (He is a sub of mine after all) but I just don't understand where the hell this, antisocial socio/psychopathic, homicidal, hatred of everything and everyone comes from. Sure there's moments where he seems almost kind, so it's safe to assume he's not all bad--those are the best kinds of villains after all. (I'm referring to the mask he puts on to his associates) Yet, he's clearly unstable. . .This kind of mental instability doesn't usually come out of no where, so it's safe to assume he had some sort of tragedy befall him. . .right? They don't give a lot of info on characters and their pasts (In depth anyway) but seriously, this seems like it should be a well known fact and it doesn't seem to be. More often then not I find myself shaking my head going, "Terumi, come on. . ." Anyone?

Tactics and their development is half the game I swear. You can know the most intense combos ever, you can be the most well adapted to your main ever, but it doesn't matter if your tactics aren't--solid. I feel really bad for slower players, hell Valkenhayn gives me a hard time now and then cause sometimes I'll fail to get the hell out of the way fast enough. (Especially against people who cover ground like it's nothing, once my wolf meter runs out I'm practically immobile.) All of my rage, especially when you fight the same asshole multiple times--to really worsen matters, I've often checked the matches in custom search and there's like 4 other people. To add insult to injury, the fluctuating lag rates (Coinciding with delay shifting delay time) is something else the rank match system fails to do properly half the time--yet that's a bit more forgiveable I suppose.

I can certainly agree with this, the AI's movements and actions are nothing short of fucking ridiculous sometimes. What I was trying to say was, it's very--peculiar--how he manages to troll us while putting so little effort into practice, while we do. It's like we're in the twilight zone sometimes I swear. :l This is indeed another hell that Lag brings, the dreaded throw tech that seems virtually impossible. Purple is simple enough for the most part, but green is just damn near impossible sometimes. All of my rage.
-
Another thing that really grinds my gears online is when it gets to the most intense part of the battle, and all of a sudden---LAG, LAG errywhere. And you kind of just have to sit there and take it up the ass. That is probably the most degrading thing ever, I can't help but feel they're wherever they are going "Tehehehe he sucks," while I die a little more inside. Yes, it just happened to me, AGAIN.
-
Hmm, I suppose now that I think about it, if you want to pick your main against someone go ahead. All I was trying to say, (I agree with Cookie) was that it's a bit harsh if the person doesn't know how to use the character they picked. To each their own I suppose. As for cheap exploitation, I yeah if there's nothing stopping you go ahead. It just kind of seems like a cruel and--unusual punishment to someone who tries really hard to be original lol. Yet those high PSRs for spammers don't lie. And one more time with feeling, rage quitting is bad!

The Mic things are always interesting. I don't own a mic but generally when I do come across people using them they seem to be yammering to themselves about miscallaneous things are are trying to do--it's almost schizophrenic lol. In terms of Astrals, personally I try to do them as much as I can but almost never do--mainly do to the fact that I'll do a combo and out of reflex I'll do a finishing distortion for it. (Much to my rage) Also using the dreaded accidental break burst happens every now and then too. Cheapness is always an interesting topic. Everyone has different variations and understandings of it. I personally stand behind the belief that no character on the game is a cheap character--there's no such thing. HOWEVER, some characters have certain abilities that can be exploited cheaply. Noels, Tagers, hell even Ragna's are famous for these. (I'm not saying anyone who uses these characters are cheap, I'm simply stating people can use them as such) Example, my roommate plays this a loooooot. My other roommate plays it every now and then. Roommate one practices with Bang and Hakumen, he can do most of the challenge modes and when we fight, sparks fly. My other roommate, roommate two, plays every now and then, with Noel. Here's where the tension forms, he can still beat roommate one with the most basic things because he basically exploits all of Noel's invincibility (He's remarkably good at timing for how little he plays) and grab--combos. There's a lot of frustration, hell he even beats me now and then--YET he can't beat the hell mode AI at all and gets stomped online by most people. We on the other hand can do the former and latter quite well. The point I'm trying to make is, while no characters are cheap inherently, some people know how to be "Cheap" with them. (I've probably said cheap a million times by now, sorry) Anyway I agree with the anti RQ, that's just ridiculous and still surprises me that people do it. Happened to me twice yesterday. The second time I didn't even finish the match he just left. As for people with new characters I totally agree and try to pick a character I use for fun. (Mainly Tao, I wuv tao) Lag problems are interesting, my xbox is weird so it lags on and off and I just kind of have to cross my fingers. Needless to say it's lost me a good few battles. (There have been a few times when I've bowed my head and came damn near to giving up) I've never stomped a corpse, not purposely anyway, but I can see how that could cause some issue with the over sensitive. Another thing that bugs me is when people will stand still, wait for you to come near them and just repeat and rehash the same thing again and again. It's not cheap or anything, it's just defensive and repetitive. I don't know.

I have only two friends who are actually into this game. Generally, when we fight we try not to be cheap and have a sort of silent guideline on how to fight. Online is a whole new world though, you run into Gods who do things you never thought possible, the cheapest people you could ever come across, and some of the most amazing and hair-close battles you'll ever have. I've always wondered though, is there a sort of unwritten law to online play? Is there a sort of silent law structure/manifest that people follow. I have my own ideas, and try to at least be enjoyable to fight, I feel it's safe to assume that everyone has a sort of law structure they follow, right? Or. . .no? Some are "In it to win it" and others are more relaxed about it. What are you're general guidelines to online/public play? (If you have any that is) I'm dead serious. I'm actually curious about this.

A friend of mine had it, Calamity Trigger. He was playing it one day and being the Soul Calibur and just fighting game in general fan I am I got into it almost immediately. He eventually fell out of it but I kept playing. Strangely my mains and subs then have disappeared and now I use completely different people then I would've guessed initially. Still, I'm glad I got some Blazblue in my life.
