so I will be going to Kansai (Osaka/Kyoto) next week for about one week. Can anyone recommend any good places to go see as far as sightseeing? Also, what are all the good arcades and where are they located as far as nearby train stations (obviously I know A-cho is the best for GG but theres several A-chos and im not sure which one is the best one)? Any suggestions are appreciated. Keep in mind that anywhere I go I will take a lot of pictures and write about it in my blog so if theres somewhere you are interested in its in your best interest to suggest I go there so you can see and hear about it.

I finally got time to sit down and watch all these matches. Latif and Flash were playing very well, great job. I look forward to playing both of you guys at Evo
-
they both can play on stick too but it doesnt matter since they didnt even go. of course they dont allow pad at an arcade tournament :P blog updated http://elvenshadowmike.blogspot.com/

wow im quite surprised. congrats to the winners. but does this mean this team will go for sure? i remember emotiongear saying that he might not just keep the whole team of the original players and might pick from other teams based on the interview etc. what happened to george and prucha? I thought they were gonna go?
-
huh? did they win showdown or something? wheres the results posted?

So, still just wondering if anyone knows of a page or something that lists the entire schedule and locations for all the SBO quals in Japan. Tougeki website still doesnt have it listed but maybe its somewhere else? EDIT: nevermind its in this months arcadia
-
yea one of those sols could have very well been him. they played very similar and one even used that color. as far as the hot zappa, im not just gonna like go take her picture like a perv but if it ever comes up easily sure as far as Game Newton, im very surprised since they are one of the arcades sponsoring SBO hah

Does anyone know where I can find a complete list for the dates and locations for all SBO qualifiers? It doesnt seem to be on the tougeki website. I know when and where the first one is but after that Im not quite sure. I just want to start planning ahead
-
yea the original members I posted were all correct. Oini is indeed 012 O for Zero, I for Ichi, Ni for Ni. N or (En) is the slayer and the rest are as I said, haken, FAB, isa. I should have another update up tomorrow, i dont have time to type it up today
-
cuz id rather try to qualify earlier so that I dont have to rely on the last chance qualifier and have our team not get randomly selected to try like last time :P

Bio: well random seeding can either increase or decrease fairness I suppose. Its good to seed people by skill level but sometimes tournament organizers can be bias and set brackets up to purpously put certain players against favorable or unfavorable matchups as well as other players they want to see lose to ensure that certain people have an easier chance of winning. Im not talking about anyone in particular but im sure you understand what i mean. I just meant that if it was completely random, no one could complain that it was fixed is all. Doesnt matter anyway, its not my call and im not even going so... Hellmonkey, gamechariot is in Chiba so... Axel, I would like to know this myself, as far as I know it hasnt been announced yet. Im expecting it will be revealed in next months arcadia which comes out on Friday. btw, ill update my blog about this past weekend tomorrow, i dont have time to type that much at the moment

2 more tournaments this weekend (one in chiba and one in Shinjuku)... hopefully I will do well!
-
LOL like thats gonna happen. I dont expect to nor am I even trying to get on the US team. If I was offered the spot I would take it but im just going to try to qualify in Japan (I just hope I can find a good team here). My main concern is simply that the selection process is fair and that it is based on tourament results and not altered due to an interview (due to reasons I have stated in detail above).

Well thats a shame that FR declined. I still dont understand why none of this information was made readily avaliable to the larger Guilty Gear community outside of Texas (since as I said no one outside texas checks mashharder.com often). As far as breaking up a qualifying team with "weaker players"... what exactly determines who the weaker players are on a team? Do you evaluate each individual players performance in the tournament and take out the players who contributed less? I dont really know if thats such a great idea considering many situations can arise such as one player constantly OCVing other teams causing his other team mates to not play much or at all resulting in no proper means to evaluate them. Or what if one player gets stuck playing bad matchups that are largely in their opponents favor and simply looks bad by situation? Counter picking is very common in team tournaments, espessially when RPS is decided to determine which team selects first. So you mentioned the singles tournament. Is the singles tournament being used as a means of a qualifier as well as the team tournament? Dont you think since this is an official SBO qual just like the ones in Japan that the format should be standardized to reflect the format of the Japanese qualifiers? There just seems like so many factors involved in this qualifying process that are pretty vague. Are you going to take into account the players tournament history over an extended period of time at majors and take into account how often they place? I understand you are a business man and want your company (planet zero) to be well represented and look good as well as maintain good relations with Arcadia personel. However, just keep in mind that having a team that will peform the best in the tournament and actually cause for exciting matches for spectators and for the DVD as well as promote good competition is going to be far more important for promotional success than anything you are going to get from an interview (which should only be a very minor factor to determine if the players going are going to behave). Honestly the only fair way to determine what team goes if the direct team tournament results are not the deciding factor is having the singles tournament top 3 be the team with the brackets being completely determined by random number picking to eliminate seeding bias. I still think if this is to be as professional as it should be it needs to follow the rest of the SBO qualifier standard rules.
