  1. It's disappointing that the weekly events at Eudemonia didn't get new regulars after Install. Well, login time is 1/3rd the normal price this weekend, maybe that'll help. Also, I finally got around to getting CS. Challenge Mode is showing me how much I suck at fighting games.
  2. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but I just noticed that after a temporary (11 year) shutdown, Oaktree Arcade in downtown Oakland is renovating right now.
  3. I'm not dead, but all that free time I had recently is. I knew I shouldn't have put off Izuna that long. Oh well. Guess I'll play as Izuna a bit more so I have a clue how his tribe works when I can get back to the wiki.
  4. I'll be kicking myself for a long time about forgetting to bring my copy of Overture to NorCal Install, when I normally bring it to the cybercafe every Saturday anyway.
  5. I can't believe I forgot to bring my copy of Overture with me when I went to Install. Especially when I bring the damn thing with me when I hang out at Eudemonia every Saturday anyway. Arg.
  6. Finally got around to getting the next wiki section done. Now I just need to do Izuna's... which will be one of the longest, and is the one I have the least experience with. Damn.
  7. Yeah, and good to see the events getting more players. How about posting on the NorCal thread about it when you can?

  8. Good games yesterday man. :V

  9. I appear to have made converts to Overture at this week's fighting game event in Berkeley. I'll keep bringing my copy along and see if I can keep this trend going.
  10. Thanks for the encouragement on the wiki, it's a wretched pain in the ass to work on. If anyone thinks there's something I missed, add it! It's a wiki! ...Huh. Close enough for lag-less play. Almost unbelievable. Sadly, don't expect my net troubles to be over any time soon. JJJJJJ2 says he'll have a working 360 before too much longer, and he lives 10 blocks from me, so at least he'll be back before long.
  11. Well, the third big entry is done. I really wish I had internet at home, so I could look over the game as I'm doing this. I can't remember half the servant skills' names.
  12. Yeah, I know, but I can only get the info I'm using by running the JP wiki through Google Translate. When the translation comes out shaky enough that I'm not sure what it's saying, I figure it's better to just leave that part out, instead of guessing and maybe being flat-out wrong. But if I do screw something up, it's easy for anyone to make a correction. Aria: Hey, the GG Wikia site now has a section on Sol's servants! Knowing the specifics on servants will help out a lot. Also, the first bit of advice I always give to new players: don't spend too much time fighting personally when you've got an entire battlefield to keep track of. Your Master should be doing something to influence the battle all the time you aren't actually on the Organ screen, even if it's just carrying units around.
  13. Well, I've gotten started on that stupidly large project I mentioned. Decent start, I hope, as I'm basically just transferring things straight from the JP wiki. It's going to take freaking forever, but at least players who don't know Japanese will have some source of info besides this thread.
  14. New player! Someone who's actually qualified to, tell them how to play! Anyway, one thing I can tell you in general is that you should not get caught up fighting with your Master for too long, or you'll lose track of what's going on in the rest of the battlefield. The times when you finish a long fight and then notice you have no units left on the board never stop being depressing. However, you should also try never to have your Master standing around useless for more than a few seconds, either. Your own character is the most powerful thing in the game, and you need to influence the battle as much as possible, even if it's just ferrying your troops around yourself. What is it you have to do on Mission 8? I have good strategies for them all, but I need a reminder of which one that is. Oh, this reminds me, I still can't find the Chimakis in Underworld Hill, or Level 16 (the one where you use Sin alongside Ky)
  15. Thanks for the link. Looking over some of the servant guides, I was highly entertained by finding out that Japanese players refer to carrying units in your item slots "Pokemoning."
