so long as you are doing a fully held 5B and the opponent has landed on the ground (still frozen), the AOA will connect. Are you having trouble with the initial hit of the AOA connecting, or getting the 18 hits + fatal at the end?

it's too early for any of my opinions. I do think that a strong naoto would give each and every one of us a scare though.

Mitsuru arguably has the best neutral game in P4U2. Great buttons, she's very safe, out spaces pretty much every character in most situations. So long as you try to stay at the max range for most of your buttons you will be getting some decent results. For example, don't pressure people up with 5A at throw range. It hits from 1/3 of the screen away, so you should try to keep it that way. Combos will almost always involve charge inputs, unless it's just a simple autocombo (which is totally fine btw!). an easy way to practice this would be to set the opponent to crouching and do this combo 5AA > 5B > sweep > B coup. as soon as you hit the button for 5B or 6B, immediately start holding 1 (down+back). this way you are holding down for the sweep and back so you can start charging for a coup droit later in the combo. This kind of thing is very very easy. As soon as it becomes a simple habit, her basic combos become very easy. Many of your stray hits are going to turn into autocombo or j.C > j.C. Take what you can get and go back to neutral if you don't get much. Mitsuru does so well in neutral, it's not much of a bad thing. I think I'll make an intro video for people who are new to Mitsuru later this week. I'll cover her basic strengths, weaknesses, combo theory, and neutral. Be a little patient and feel free to ask more questions! We're all happy to help

I'm glad to see new faces in here so often AoA stands for All-Out-Attack (A+B) An optimal corner throw combo would be throw > 5AA > 5B (start holding down) > [2B] > D bufu > [5B] > sweep > B coup inputs inside brackets [example] means to hold the button until the move comes out on its own. max charge [2B] and [5B] are very common in combos

This one really spoke to me

Mitsuru wins neutral pretty hard imo. Most (all?) of Rise's projectiles and normals with range are incredibly slow. Blocking most of them get her in for free, so just don't. 5A, 5D, coup, j.A, etc. Mitsuru's buttons just beat hers to the extent that it seems difficult for Rise to get started. Her j,B is pretty good but you should still be able to 2B her IADs on reaction (barring netplay of course). Rise's mixup seems fairly straightforward. Her AOA is very reactable once you see the animation enough (it seems to give most people trouble for a little while). In awakening, Rise can spend a bunch of meter to use her tracking projectile (the vertical one) to force blockstun and then use her DDR super for an unblockable. Just guard-cancel-roll it on reaction and fatal her for free. Rise's DP is pretty bad, but is still annoying because you'll be hard baiting it most of the time. If you hit it with any move it will activate. If you don't do anything, it will activate on it's own. If blocked, she has the usual option to super cancel. If you call out her DP, just walk back, wait out the lightning followup and punish afterwards. It's fatal recovery, so you can get a strong combo off A coup (or anything else). You can also instant kill her DP on reaction (why?), so have fun with that. I want to point out that I don't know the matchup to a great extent yet. Just throwing some info out there. That said, I feel this is definitely Mitsuru's favor.

I'd love it if we had those filled out a little bit before the NA version of P4U2 drops. Marie and Margaret matchup threads will be added after their release. I'd prefer posts in those threads to be factual/helpful rather than speculative. I'll be updating a lot of stuff around here until the NA version drops. If any of you notice anything wrong, misspelled, not organized properly, whatever, PLEASE send me a message and let me know. In vanilla, Mitsuru's forums were a wasteland at times. I want it to be the best that it can be this time around.
