But that's not necessarily something you'd want as amane, it's just a choice whether you want to sacrifice damage for a different setup. With such a setup, you could get a 3 way mixup since you're so close and probably in frame advantage and they'll be standing, that means 6B overhead, a low, a grab or simply a DP bait. Plus you get the little extra drill meter. I wonder how that would fair with higher drill level. You would catch up all the lost meter during the combo, you wouldn't lose as much damage and you'd get the same setup or simply chip scenario. Plus, who knows what's the meter difference with a higher drill level on this.

No bibi you ain't mistaken, foonzo is closed today, 2nd and 3rd of january -
Isn't Hinane-Chan one of the top 3 Amane? Also, fun little property of 2D with level 3. http://youtu.be/-azmZgmSN2g?t=13m16s It launches the opponent mid air perfect for j.6D link Also this looks like a damage sacrifice for standing oki and a little drill meter. I wonder how good it could be http://youtu.be/iICqU_8vlp4?t=6m27s

5C and 6C whiffs on crouching guaranteed. But you can start with 2C and gatling into 5C, so it's not all bad. Also, keep in mind the arcade mentality, if you win you pay less to keep playing. Even Shadow who's been amazing with the character does not win consistently in videos and he's top 3. Why work and pay more money when I can play a character that will give me more wins?

CTs seems to have 2 uses, simple combo extender for a pretty big chunk of damage or an easy reset into 6D. I think they've just been valuating the option of keeping 50 meter for a reversal or counter assault much more. Also it leads to new opportunity for damage. Say for instance you land a gekiren in midscreen, rapid it and you get a full combo off of it while you normally don't. Another little trick is the idea of using 5D rapid 5D near the end of rounds for like 20%+ chip to seal a round. 50 meter only seems more conservative because it gives you both defensive options and offensive options. I'd weight the extra defensive option heavily in the balance considering it's the only viable one in pressure that Amane has. Also, if you plan on using CT in combos to reset into 6D off the emergency tech, keep in mind that you can just hit 5B and force them into a hariken drill for the same setup off the same starting combo, but less the meter. I guess the option of having that free extension is still good to have, but given the current evolution and time spent with the game, it'll probably shine later on. It's one of those things that seem like up ahead on how the game will evolve, but not one that's needed right away. At least my take on it. I'll still do some CT combos because they look dope.

No full combos yet, but we've seen hints at combo routes. In corner you get wall bounce off j.6D (from a good distance) so we know there's stuff to do from it. Mid screen, you can fabhop from j.6D into 6C I believe. so 2D into j.6D into full combo is an easy 4k anywhere, we just have yet to see it

1. You're right, we're not gonna talk... for just talking, it's a bit pointless. I check this thread daily and try to update whenever I can to make it more active, but I can't make out discussion topics out of thin air lol 2. Drill level still increases, but it feels like it goes down so fast that you don't really have to bother overheating unless you do like... 6D or a super. Rewatch this combo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JODfdqU204 . You can see that there's like less than half a second in between OD activation and the next attack and by then the drill meter went down surprisingly fast. Though you could be surprised, in recent footage (http://youtu.be/y89HBit_DDc?t=3m34s), Shadow goes from level 1 to overheat with 6D in an attempt to finish off the other guy. Usually, you'd favor stopping around beginning of level 3 or so, but this time he just goes raw for the whole thing and it looks like 2.5k of chip (or their whole barrier) Shit's pretty nuts even if it's not 10 seconds of level 3 in OD, but that'd be dumb let's face it.

Too lazy to look back who said so, but a tier list is pretty much the state of the game as we know it at the time it is made. It's still relevant in a way and interesting to keep up with the progression of the game even if we're not in the state where we already know everything about it. It's a constant progress of growth that changes on a constant basis. Whether or not you consider it to be a waste of time, up to you, but I think it's interesting. Also, the set uploaded either today or yesterday of Shadow vs. Kaqn was pretty damn godlike. Also, best holiday wishes to all of you.

New combos by Ora, sweet stuff http://youtu.be/-Ut8ugSN_mw?t=45s Throw combo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ut8ugSN_mw&feature=youtu.be&t=1m26s Extended mid screen combo 3.2k http://youtu.be/-Ut8ugSN_mw?t=2m32s Corner throw with drill level 3. I presume he dropped it, but he still got 3K and could maybe get 4 I'm sorry, but Hakumen was using barrier here. Once again I ask, air unblockable/grab? That would just FABULOUS http://youtu.be/-Ut8ugSN_mw?t=2m7s

Watching old replays being uploaded to jourdal2012 and I got very excited for something I did not see at all. Your hariken stance seems like a bad move to do at neutral game. It's a big commitment to go into hariken drill and you press the wrong one, you essentially surrender the neutral game and you'll be force to block the incoming enemy. But, showing your opponent that you use hariken at neutral, you can bait him to get in and just empty cancel the stance into w/e beat his obvious approach. If that happens, you can get the guy scared of doing it again and get in his head. After that, I think you could play mindgames with that stance. You have the option to hold it for drill meter, ground drill for pressure and empty cancel for baiting. You can see shadow use right here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uM1PBq9IjH8&t=8m37s When you land a hand grab like that at neutral, it would make the other player so scared to do anything for a few seconds. Also, took out the dead links in my notes, it feels completely empty of any video footage now

In the wise words of some dude in MTL, the best tier list goes like this : My character is D, everyone else is A and above. But I'm fairly confident Amane will climb a few tiers, he's not bottom. Everything that I've seen from the videos make him look like he works, mostly on paper. He has flaws, granted. They're very exploitable, granted. He's not built in to be cheap from the get go, granted. But he has the potential to be good. You just have and you will always to work for it. Middle tier is where I think he'll fall. Exact middle ground.

http://youtu.be/8d6JIBjHm0Q?t=21m57s Dat combo I feel it's only because he gets shitted on by matchups like litchi/tao/valk where if you get hit once, you have to block for over 15 seconds. Combine that with the fact that nearly every move he has has big recovery. When Amane whiffs something, if the opponent can move with ease, it's a free punish. That alone makes your job harder and forces a mentality of "don't fuck up once". It's not that he's bad, it's that some matchups will be drastically difficult for him. A bit like potemkin, certain matchups have answers for the character's flaws and this makes matchups hard/impossible. But... Theory crafting lololol

There was some early footage of Amane vs. Azrael. Azrael's DP/stance allows him to absorb projectiles and he did on Amane 5D and it never hit.
-
While yes it does, it's only a good tool if your opponent proves he can react to a fabhop in the first place and do something about it. Havn't seen that much people do it yet lol. How did I missed that :/

Which drill, the ground one that leads into 6D, the ground to ground normal? The ground to air? I don't think 2b OTG will ever link into any drill btw. Also, been catching up videos a bit: http://youtu.be/EqP7SgqEJm4?t=16m4s *Chuckle* Timing specific bursts to our advantage. http://youtu.be/x9Ngujw-Tr0?t=4m55s Omg this looks like a wacky starter, but it's so good. j.2C Counter hit start http://youtu.be/oKcjaalui10?t=9m31s 5D level 2 counter hit into hariken drill. The damage is so bad though... http://youtu.be/oKcjaalui10?t=9m39s Counter hit counter assault combos into 2C into full combo? 0.o Fabulous http://youtu.be/oKcjaalui10?t=10m38s This maybe just for me, but I was wondering if you could fabhop twice in a row, it's pretty fast.

Well downtown will most likely be more crowded than usual. There's deals on beers/alcohol. I'm not saying we should all fit along the masses or that it's smart, I'm just saying that it's still gonna have a difference. Yes cars won't be wrecked, but I don't know how packed foonzo will be. Don't take it literally imo, but do consider the fact that humans tend to like to use any excuse to drink. -

Next sunday, but as cool as the idea sounds, it's only as cool for those who make it. We could try something if we still want a competition on that day but have too little players. Round-robin tournament if that happens, anyone in?
