Under Night In-Birth, PS3 release confirmed (Jul 24, 2014)
RifleAvenger replied to Hecatom's topic in Under Night In Birth
You know, I like Skullgirls. And I really want to play UNIB. But I'm uncomfortable with the number of guest characters they're adding, seemingly at the expense of making original characters. Sion sure, since she's one reference from the developers' own work. But Jewpuncher and Skullgirls, really? Why not focus on getting characters like Nanase, Wagner, another Autonomic Nerve or gosh knows who or what else from UNIB playable? -
LOL Seeing the CS1 animations always make me chuckle. Inb4 Gonzo scenes from CS1 are just copy pasted into Alter Memory.
-
Pretty easy. Always choose the first option every time you're given a choice. That said, Kokonuts comes out in a week, so if you plan on getting her too, you might need to buy a bigger card anyways.
-
I think this is just Relius' way of downloading his opponent.
-
Hazama's in the Intelligence department. It's possible he's supposed to be undercover (a pretense for a pretense?) and the officer wasn't supposed to address him by his military rank.

I really agree with this. The anti-air scarf is really good, and getting hit by it will result in Amane throwing you back to nearly fullscreen. Staying on the ground and trying to get him to whiff a C move, then making your way in, doing forward dash -> Gustaf, or Phalanx if you have it is the best way I've found so far to get in on Amane. Of the matchups I can get around here, this one and Arakune have been the most "annoying," although not necessarily the hardest.

Chrono Phantasma Story Discussion [fun tentatively allowed again]
RifleAvenger replied to Chaoschao222's topic in Zepp Museum
That OUGHT to be in the description. but I've always assumed that Mori substituted planning and writing with insanity and pulling things out of his ass. Also, very dissapointed that Azrael's role in the story is being called in whenever people need a fight to break up the VN. I kind of expected it though. His only motivation is finding people to punch. "Azrael's Diary: Today, I got let out of stasis. I tried fighting lots of people, but they all ran away. Then I got put back in stasis again. All things considered though, it was a pretty good day. See you in another X years, dear diary." -
I'm actually fine with Amane's. Azrael's is hit and hit: his voice is all over the place. At times it almost seems like the VA was doing different characters. Haven't heard Bullet yet. I'm more concerned about the quality overall. I mean, Jin yells his specials in English now, which sounds really silly. Like he's Mr. Freeze making ice puns.

Dropped Bang because of throat cancer. He's obviously too ill to fight, so I'm not going to push him. And Darth Hakumen because Arcsys thought "Hey, it's closer to the Jp version where he sounds nothing like Jin!" even though I LIKED that he sounded like Jin. I'll beat that same reasoning is why Jin screams the translated versions of his moves now. Which just makes him sound like cheesy Mr. Freeze... I can't decide whether I find Azrael's VA cheesy or awesome.

LOL @ that sad Rachel face. Yeah, nearly naked Jin getting dominated by Rachel would spawn some really ugly fanart/ships. The lot of the ignorant shipping BS going on since this released is driving me nuts. The last thing I need is something as nightmarish as Rachel x Jin getting taken seriously by someone.
-
Ah Yeah. "Who wants to have their face smashed in?!"

They don't update the PSN store at midnight. It's more likely to happen from sometime after 10 AM to sometime in the afternoon Japanese time. Boodendorf may have just been refering to the existence of the digital version, not its current availability. Edit: To answer the below, the in-battle voice acting needs to have English and Japanese so that the eventual English language edition and the Japanese one will be compatible for online play.

Jin and Ky do not have the same playstyle. Ky uses meter to gain or maintain momentum (Stun Edge FRC, dash in as they block), whereas Jin's EX moves are largely combo extenders and a DP. Ky sets up positioning and sparks to put the foe in a situation where Ky's options are better than theirs, and then waits for them to hang themselves. Jin uses a lot of gimmicks and tricks to open up the opponent. Ky's projectiles are essential to his neutral, oki, and even combos, whereas Jin's projectiles play a much smaller role. Even though they're both Shotoesque-swordsmen, have great pokes, and a lackluster high-low game, they feel significantly different. The other pairs you listed all have similar differences. I'd agree with Eshi's assessment. However, remember that Rachel is limited by her wind gauge, which is a big change from Millia. On the other hand, her zoning tools give her more ways to get faraway opponents to sit down and block, so that you can get an in.

And 5K off throw w/meter. Yeah, her damage seems kind of high, especially given how little meter she was using. At least Hakumen needs a lot of magatama or OD to do his nutty damage. Koko seems to break 4K+ easy with 25-50 meter and graviton available. That said, I find how she uses gravitons as a combo tool really cool. I mean, I expected her to be able to do it, just like Rachel can with wind, but seeing it something else. -
KoF XIII gets some shit around here for that actually... though not enough to get people to not play. Mahvel gets a free pass for some reason though. That said, are there going to be any such changes in the Chaos Code update?
-
Speaking of the new version, are the combos going to be turned down a notch? Right now, even though no one in my college group can do them, the very notion that stuff like this is in the game is making it hard to persuade people to play it.

I was kind of hoping she'd dress up Amane. And that he'd like it. And that they would then spend eternity together as an elite cosplay team. -

I wouldn't dislike her being the star is Noel wasn't, well, herself. And if it wasn't obvious she was the creator's favorite (borders on Mary Sue for me). The Saya clone series and Platinum (and Caelica) are the only female characters in the cast that I would never want to be the main character. Sadly, Noel basically IS at this point. I was also hoping for more Jin emphasis this game. Because I really want to see his character development follow through, and because I'm biased. -

My last reason to order a physical copy just went out the window. I'm truly impressed. In the age of micro-transactions, this is a breath of fresh air. Even if it is just for a week and a half or so. -
Asia Version of BBCP does not have English subs
RifleAvenger replied to Smokebreaker's topic in BlazBlue Gameplay
Even IF this is true, how good would the subs be? You'd think if they had a quality translation all ready to go, North America wouldn't be waiting another few months for the game (and who knows how long for Europe). -
The Super Slim probably is cheaper to make than the Slim, but also remember that the PS3 is an aging system. It's not going to sell for the prices it used to, and it may drop further still when the PS4 is released. If you truly feel you cannot trust the Super Slim, getting a lightly used (or never used) regular slim is your best bet. It's got the best quality of the three variants. Some runs of the old fat models are actually pretty sketchy, so I'd avoid getting one of those. Probably, since a new 500 GB Super Slim tends to sell for about $250 (having bought one recently myself), the 12 GB ones sell for $200, and the price for the original slims when they were still in production was $300. I don't know why those 12 GB models exist either. $50 isn't such a high price to pay for forty times the memory capacity.

Under Night In-Birth, PS3 release confirmed (Jul 24, 2014)
RifleAvenger replied to Hecatom's topic in Under Night In Birth
I'd prefer a console release to be honest. However, I would be happy having it on PC. My college scene plays the Touhou fighters and Divekick on PC regularly, and I'm sure we could do the same for UNIB. If it's going to have netplay (and a lot of people here seem to want netplay), please make sure it's good. Shitty netplay is worse than none at all in my opinion.
