This is basically the 1.1 patch in a nutshell. Most weak characters only received minor if any buffs, but the strong characters got some hella big nerfs lol

Are you doing a microdash before 5C>2C>Jakou? Because if you don't you will put yourself in the corner. Doing so takes time though and it is making adding the 4D extremely unstable for me.

SaltFest is this Saturday at the University of Utah Student Union Building! You'd be nuts to miss out on a local tournament like this! And then Ctrl goes to work tomorrow and finds out his COS was denied so he can't go. That's really unlikely though lol

This could just be me being paranoid, but it feels like Hazama has a smaller window to use A-cancels on his snake chains when he's at 0 chain counter. They already nerfed this once so it's not unlikely that they nerfed it again. I feel like I have to immediately cancel a whiffed chain in order to be able to cancel it with 0 counters.

3C seems to now be a worthwhile hit. So instead of the usual 5B>5C>Houtenjin or 5C>Houtenjin You can optimally add 3C for 5B>5C>3C>Houtenjin now, so confirming Houtenjin has never been easier. You can use it sure but you'll only -ever- be able to do anything with it on psychic reads. It's fucking 28 frames now. To put that in perspective, that's the same as the startup on 6C. I have people whiffing non-A moves and still punishing me with 5B/5C now. I really just don't understand it. Backstep -> punish grab is just such an integral part of being a grappler. If they were going to nerf his backstep at all they should have just removed a few invuln frames. The increased time is what makes it so bad, even if we got another single frame of invuln. I know basically everyone got their backdash duration increased by a few frames, but Tager got one of the largest amounts added (5 frames 23->28) which is just silly as he's a character who actually uses it as an important tool. As a player who's played Tager intensively and competitively I loaded up the patch, used a backstep and immediately went "WHOOAAAA WHY AM I FLOATING THROUGH THE SKY"

You can now cancel into supers on any hit of Terumi's specials. This let's you do some extremely fast SMP tech traps with Soutenjin. You can also just go for RC SMP tech gimmicks.

Get used to never using your backstep ever again. Seriously I have no idea what Tager did to deserve this.

This is the best I can do with post-GF 5A meterless and going back into GF: 5A > 2B > 3C > AC whiff > 6A > 2C > GF 1929 I haven't grinded it very much yet though. It's worth noting though that 5A>3C>AC whiff>5C>6A>2C>AC does work, it's just that GF won't work afterwards. Spark Bolt continuation into MTW is unaffected though. So you can still murder people on a 5A for sure once you've got resources. So these combos still work: DM: 3748 5A > 3C > AC Whiff > 5C > 6A > 2C > AC > 623D > MTW > GF DM: 4728 5A > 3C > AC Whiff > 5C > 6A > 2C > AC > 623D > MTW > TB DM: 5218 5A > 3C > AC Whiff > 5C > 6A > 2C > AC > 623D > OD > MTW > TB > GF Tager's 2A is nerfed to the same starter. Not sure if that's been mentioned.

Use jCx2 now. The new way they get hit upwards makes jCx2 > d.jCx5 way easier now, and it works pretty much anywhere you have enough proration now. So you can use it on chain angles we used to not be able to. Adding 2C here makes the combo do 3223: Ressenga (S) > dash 5C > 2C > 3C > 214D~66~B > 5A > 5C > 2C > 4D~D > jCx2 > jCx5 > Hiren

I just got the patch. Prepare yourself for the 5A nerf. 5A>3C>AC whiff>2C>AC>GF will not work any more. The GF will drop. 5A>3C>ODC>5C>MTW>TB>GF does 5121 and still works. The lack of combos off 5A make this more important than before. New corner routes for 5B/5C. Small amount less damage but added magnetism from 2D is far more worth it imo. Yup, tons of fun. Hopefully this "early shift Saturday" will be pretty accessible for me. I wouldn't want to rock the boat too much with it though lol. Especially when I get promoted I'll be an FTF Career employee (Full-Time Flexible) so I'm expected to be, well, flexible. And it's hardly "Flexible" if I insist on a certain shift every Saturday lol

Tager's 720 is 5+0 fully invuln til active. Oddly enough though, Tager can reverse it with his own 720 in mirrors if they're both neutral

I can vouch for how much fun BADC is. I made the trip out there from SLC and I don't regret it one bit (still debating flying out again to see you all but EVO and such throwing a wrench in my summer leave plans) Seriously though, if you're anywhere nearby you should really get yourself to BADC.

If you actually gather at noon, I can play for a few hours before heading to work. I work at 3pm on Saturdays and 33rd is right the street from me. The place is literally right next to the freeway so I could easily just head on out once I needed to leave. I can't help you with a monitor though. Nemesis/Harukasan would have to help you there. Incidentally, this place is RIGHT next to Millcreek TRAX Station. I mean literally less than a minute walk lmao
