  1. Is this your first fighting game? If it is, then I'd recommend checking out this playlist. There are only two videos out right now, but they are beginner-friendly and go over some very important basic concepts for Guilty Gear; Blazblue as well. If you're already familiar with other fighting games like SF4, check out Airdash Academy series by the same guy. Even after playing BB for years, I still look back at the AA videos from time to time. Sorry for the very barebones response but I'm short on time at the moment. Good luck with your quest to improve!
  2. bump also, everyone I've met at UCSB BnB were great people to hang and play casuals with! These guys pretty much taught me everything I know about GG and helped me improve my fundamentals. If you're in the Santa Barbara area, please come for a visit!
  3. Ah alright, thanks for the clarification guys! I knew Ragna's CA moved his hitboxes a bit forward, but had no idea that Jin's 5C did the same. Interesting thing to know.
  4. Dunno if this has ever been brought up before, but today while I was playing casuals with a friend, I used 5B > 5C in a blockstring at point-blank range against my friend's Ragna. He did a counter-assault right after I did 5B, and my 5C ended up going right through him, but his CA did not hit me back. Is there some weird hitbox thing going on with Jin's 5C or Ragna's CA or something?
  5. I know I'm super late to responding to this, but hasn't the first setup been known about for awhile now? I remember seeing it in a very old oki video back in December lol. It's my first time seeing the 2nd one though. Is it rising j.H forward immediately after setting 6S?
  6. tfw you instant block something that's normally slightly plus or 0 on block but still get CH'd when the opponent mashes right after, due to the delay. tfw fighting taokaka online
  7. More like people getting upset that stronger players are denying them matches. I've had this happen a few times back when I played P4A vanilla with S ranks and higher kicking me out of rooms because I was on a F- rank account with few matches played. It really sucks when you're trying to find players who can whoop your ass so you can learn from mistakes but they don't take you seriously because of your low color/rank/whatever. I'm very glad this hasn't happened to me at all yet in BBCPE. The worst I ever get is people dodging/kicking me because I play Noel and I know that feel. brb picking up Jin
  8. tfw you find a 3-4 bar in the 64-man lobby and they choose to play a set with a 0 bar I know there might be reasons like both players being friends/maybe some kind of netplay tournament going on, but finally being able to find someone with a great connection only to not be able to play them because they're playing against someone else with a much worse connection has really been getting on my nerves lately. it's like "yo dude we're 3-4 bar let's play why the fuck are you choosing to play in 5f+ delay #FUCK_NETPLAY"
  9. >try to counter assault >get 6B instead because you didn't adjust to delay timings and inputted it too late after blockstun ended the classic
  10. people turtle offline too how is this netplay related is this the pet-peeves-in-general thread
  11. just gib up let the memory of 1.0 ram remain beautiful
  12. so real talk is this matchup basically "whoever knocks down first and gets momentum wins"? What are your guys' experience with this mirror? How do we fight our own character? I rarely ever find any other Rams online to play against, but whenever I do, it kinda feels like I'm just waiting for the other Ram to do unsafe stupid shit and punishing them for it, which works against lower level Rams/new Rams but doesn't really help at all when playing against Rams who have an idea of what they're doing. Also, f.S > Dauro with f.S clashing and Dauro CHing both players is hilarious as fuck
  13. Ah okay, thanks for clearing that up!
  14. Hey guys, I've been out of the loop with Noel since CSE. Does anyone mind explaining to me what her 22B oki is? All I've really seen people do is end a corner combo with 22B and then run up and does 2C, which I'm guessing catches rolls, quick wakeup, and delay/no tech? Also, how is her stagger pressure in CPE? ...and why is d.6C fatal
  15. It might have to do with the 22C. I'm pretty sure Plat still needs to time 22C to hit within the few last active frames of the move so she can recover in time to link whatever comes next.
