  1. Just a mini disclaimer: I've been playing BB since CT, but mostly on other people's consoles since I didn't have my own. Up until January this year (so BBCS Extend), I've only ever properly played Ragnas and Tagers with my Hakumen. Was waiting mostly on CP though and played other stuff before it was released. Anyway, I need to improve my matchups with various characters, so here are some clips where I both win and lose: VS Carl: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZH9R8a-AHA VS Terumi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcQeMY328HA VS Haku: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jidv4uHScuk VS Tsubaki (Kiba): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XddecFqb6WQ VS Litchi: www.youtube.com/watch?v=fd7dJgmLtSk Also, crappy mobile phone quality, but you can at least clearly see stuff.
  2. So, funny thing about 6D... I seem to be getting the most use out of it in Haku mirrors. It's like tailor-made to counter Haku's moves.
  3. After the Mega Drive era here, fighting games died down in my area. People had the hots for Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, but then the Playstation waltzed in and everyone was playing either epic single-player games or Pro Evolution Soccer/Winning Eleven. Fighting games became this very personal thing, where it was me and the CPU. My only benchmark was the difficulty level of a game. I tried a bunch of games, mostly via emulators, but then GGX got released for the PC. I played it to bits, never even looking online for strategies and combos (something like that never even occurred to me as a 'thing'). Then I moved on to GGXX Reload, but online wouldn't work in my country for the first few years (nobody could figure out why), so again, still a very personal experience. I had this idea that I was good at the game, since I could consistently win arcade mode, survival mode and "Maniac" setting matches. I went to visit some friends I met on a forum, who happened to live a few hours by bus, just so I could play other people and show my skill. I got completely and utterly steamrolled. Was the worst of the bunch there. More or less ate my own words. So, this was after playing GG for a few years. I could have dropped it there and then, because I felt like I made absolutely no progress with the game at all. I decided to sit down and re-evaluate what I liked about the game and what character I could pick up to learn easily, while still enjoying myself. Six months later, we had a tourney with about 20 people. I placed third, and still lost to the two friends that had previously steamrolled me, but at least I put up a fight and made visible progress. After that, BlazBlue became the next big thing, but I had no console. I had to leech off of other people during CT, CS, CS2 and Extend. CP is the first version I own and it shows. I've been playing the game for years, but the gap in skill/knowledge is visible. But hey, I saw a clip of me playing in CT and it was abysmal compared how I'm playing now. So, the gist of it is, you'll be awful, you'll get your ass handed to you and you'll need years to make progress. But that doesn't matter. You're already better than a bunch of people by not quitting because of it. There are a ton of good people on dustloop. You can find someone to be your sparring partner. A lot of people didn't have that luxury back in the day, but still endured. Also, watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsTCXbz2364
  4. I get the impression that it has a fixed range at which it spawns, about the distance between characters at round start. If the distance would push it outside the edge of the stage, it's at the edge of the stage instead. At least that's how it kept working for me in training mode. Still no clue what to do about it when she does it on corner oki. Roll and buffer Shippu?
  5. Something new I've found out (or at least I don't think it's been mentioned), but Kokonoe's black hole doesn't move you if you're charging Shippu. A fully charged Shippu lasts just barely enough for the black hole to vanish, so maybe experimenting with that will work? (Also, the FPS of the game plummets when you do this) This also works versus magnets.
  6. Platinum's upgraded bullet works like that (in Extend at least). The void slows it down, refreshes constantly as long as it's within range (it kinda inches forward) and then continues moving normally after it leaves the void. Not sure whether there are any other similar projectiles though. Possibly certain drills from Amane.
  7. I want to murder people when they are about to win and any move would be enough, but they combo into an Astral. It's fine if all your other (accessible) options wouldn't be enough for a win, but I'm talking chip damage or just any normal hit/DD away.
  8. How do you avoid the teleport + fireball from other side though? If a projectile has multiple "applications" before it fades away, it'll need to refresh the void a few times before it goes away. Regular fireballs kinda vanish after they've almost left the void, but I think they still can't do damage to you even then. If you cut a fireball, you should be safe or have enough time to smack Kokonoe and force it to go away. Just a not, since I got burned heavily because of it. If you slash the super fireball as soon as Kokonoe fires it, it doesn't actually stop the fireball. It'll come back after a moment and since the void has to hit Kokonoe when you spawn it, you won't have it to protect you. Should be safe with a 2C though.
  9. Thanks for the advice. I'll try and apply it in future matches.
  10. Has anyone tried playing around with Mugen + OD? I haven't really used Mugen much at all before, so interested in more experienced players' thoughts. It essentially freezes your Magatama bar until OD and then your Magatama deplete, or until you do a Distortion.
  11. Those Shippus were hilarious.
  12. GGs to everyone in the Euro lobby. And thanks BlackJaguarXD for the Tsubaki matches. I really need to figure out how to leave corners.
  13. GG to GE1 arcade lobby folk. Played against some good characters I don't encounter that much.
  14. Thanks Boodendorf and everyone else I played today. Fun matches all around. Sorry I didn't see you when you first entered the lobby, BD.
  15. GGs to the people from my last arcade lobby session. I'm hanging out in the GE1 arcade lobby right now for any Euros who want to play.
  16. I'll be on the GE1 arcade lobby for the next hour or so if anyone wants to play. PSN is RealSovietBear.
  17. If anyone's still playing DOA5U, I'm up for a few matches tonight/this weekend. EDIT: I think I may have accidentally declined someone's friend request from here. If that's the case, please resend it :/
  18. Cool, thanks for the info.
  19. I haven't gotten around to playing the AC story mode (only played reload and read about GG/GGX), so was wondering: is the animosity between Ky and Sol at "rivalry" level, or does Ky despise Sol's guts infinitely? Or something in-between? Also, does Sol not give a damn about the rivalry, or is that just for show?
  20. I need some proper practice myself, so feel free to add me. Not sure about tomorrow, but if you see me playing EXTEND anytime, just send a message.
  21. I usually just open a room and go do stuff on my PC until the gamepad starts vibrating loudly with happiness against the desk. Longest wait I've had that way was 20 minutes possibly.
  22. Gee, trample over my morale some more :P But yea, I enjoyed watching the matches between you two. Shame you can't save other people's replays.
  23. Thank you bakahyl for almost teaching me how to throw counter.
  24. Sorry I guess :/ Hope some future matches might be better for you.
  25. GG to Kiba and everyone else I played today in the Euro zone.
