I don't get why some people play you for 30+ minutes and then go on to say how the matches were crap and you were crap and it was a waste of time. Like, leave if it's that bad. There's nothing to prove to anyone. Don't waste anyone's time. Being Internet-tsundere is not cute.

GGs to all the people who joined the room during its five hour lifespan. BGs to the person who felt they had to gloat/insult after winning.

Hosting a 8 person player room with two private slots. "RealSovietBear." If you want in but it becomes full, send me a message on PSN.

GGs to all the people who joined and played in the room. Some really fun matches!

Well, my console just froze off and now I'm trying to check whether anything was damaged. System restore is gonna take a while. Sorry to those who were in the Room. GGs while it lasted. EDIT: OK, rehosted. Gonna keep it open for another hour at least.

Hosting a player room for EU and East Coast blokes (and anyone who can connect and be playable, really). Just join RealSovietBear if you want in. Not sure how long I'll be playing.
-
Neither did they log in to play Touhou.
-
Adding "Pink players who ragequit so they don't lose their shiny color" to pet peeves.
-
GGs to everyone who joined and played in the room, save for that one ragequit at the end.

Hosting a player match room (RealSovietBear) for the next hour at least. Anyone can hop in if they want. I usually have a good connection with East Coast and EU players, but can't vouch for the other people who join the room.

I've only ever had that happen at the start of each version, when new players would swarm in. Mostly because people couldn't recover from 6B spam in the corner. Actually, wait, I had it happen in BBCP too when I linked kishu throws 4+ times... Maybe it's because I play a parry character, but I've had enough comebacks versus 60%+ health leads in fighting games that I never feel like dropping a round.

Having some gimmicks is fine, in my opinion. They're fun and generally just nudge the balance instead of throwing it out of whack. I get ecstatic when I do two clashes in a row in a real match. If I got Danger Time, I'd be full on anime hype mode while imagining some Engrish vocals in the background singing about love and sacrifice. -
Depends on how later tonight. I'll be awake for another 2, 2 and a half hours from now. Best bet is to poke me on Twitter and I'll get a notification on my phone.

I've known this from day 1, but I have never actually gotten to use it. A problem with OD is that if you miss the moment to use it, the opponent goes into heavy defensive mode. It's a similar issue as with going into Mugen. I've only ever landed Yukikaze as far as drives go in OD.

GGs to people in the RealSovietBear room. I'm trying to host every other day for an hour at least and I appreciate that I'm getting nice folk joining in.

If it's compatible with the PS4, it should work natively with PS3 and PC as well. Emphasis on should, since that's how the default PS4 pad works at least.

As far as character balance was concerned, I really only ever felt like Nu was too powerful and mashing left/right when frozen by Jin was stupid. I do agree with what mAc said about characters losing their spirit. Even if some stuff ended up being objectively better for some characters (lol Haku damage), it's a complaint I've heard from Haku and Tager players, for example.

That's what made #R so interesting to me. Whether it was canon relationships or alternate ending ones (like Venom and Millia having a drunk fight in front of Jam's food stand), there were so many interesting agendas and character groups. It felt like it was a cast made up of characters each doing their own thing, rather than the entire cast converging towards the one and same goal (like say, beating Shao-Kahn in old MKs). The story mode made me even stop hating Axl's guts. I mean, what was the end goal of #R even? I-no's causing crap and she needs to be stopped? That was like the least memorable thing. -

I've only ever played #Reload's story with a fan translation and I really enjoyed all the characters there. I don't know what the exact writing process at ASW is though, so I'm not sure whether to expect writing like #R (which I liked), AC (which people seem to say is bad), BBCT (which I actually thought was alright) or CS-CP (which I couldn't stomach). I guess we'll only know when the English version is out. As for who to main, I have no idea. My favorite character was Robo-Ky so that's obviously not an option. And going by my experience with BB and P4A where I thought I'd like one character and ended up liking someone I didn't even know of before buying the game, I'll just wait until I have the game in my hands. There's always at least one character I enjoy playing and usually it's 3-4 that click with me. I mean, it's an ASW game. Chances are the starting roster will have every "category" covered and all future characters will be more and more niche until you eventually get that perfect one for you. -
I don't really mind the Hakumen changes, since I didn't do his BnB anyway. They can do whatever they want to him as far as I'm concerned, I doubt I'll switch mains at this point. Glad Arakune got buffs. I've only played... exactly one Arakune since BBCP released.

I don't really think Dizzy fits that description. ABA kinda leaves a different impression since she's paired up with another sentient character so you have some dynamic between them. I never said GG didn't follow tropes (I'm pretty sure it's impossible to not contain a trope in a work of fiction), it's just that this particular one didn't feel to me like it fit in with the rest of the game/world. -

I dunno, the whole emotionless indecently-dressed girl seems like something out of BB (maybe because they used that trope... 3 or 4 times?). Maybe it's just a gap they saw in GG's cast and wanted to fill it? I can't really tell you how people would react in an alternate world, because we're in this one and I'm just basing my opinion on previous games. I mean, it's just an aesthetic impression. It's like if you were to explain why you shouldn't wear a green tuxedo with blue pants. Nobody will give you a logical explanation, they'll just tell you they don't work together. Like, I pick characters that work for me aesthetically and gameplay-wise (I don't like looking at a character I think looks boring or not my style). I never had a problem with the GG cast, even those characters I barely touched. These two don't look like something that fit the former bill for me. Why? I don't know, you can call me illogical but I just don't. That said, I'm sure a bunch of people will enjoy them and I'm not the only type of GG player to cater to. The more choices the better, but I just don't think these two fit (although for the latter, we have only one image to go on). -
I'm not sure if it's a company-wide philosophy, but I recall an interview with Daisuke where they said they made certain characters in GG intentionally weaker for people who like to play the underdog. "As long as you get rewarded for investing in a character, it's fine if they're weaker" or something along those lines. I'm guessing BB also has a similar approach, but the disparity between character capabilities just seems larger. I guess if you have fun winning, you shouldn't pick the weaker character?

I'm not really concerned about how metal someone is. Both GG and BB female characters are fetish fuel, but they approach it differently. BB's fanservice reminds me of how shonen anime do it, while GG was like older school anime fanservice. It's hard for me to explain, but I know both Ram and pinkie stand out from what I'm used to in Guilty Gear. I doubt it'll ruin my experience, but it just feels like the design was done either by someone else, or that Daisuke decided to change his approach to character designs. -
GGs to zinv2686, Kaliel00 and windowsmsnlipi.
