  1. Alright, thanks for the suggestions. As soon as I get a working TV and the game, I'll try playing Mitsuru, Yukiko, and Labrys and see which ones I have the most fun with.
  2. Hey, I've played BB and GG for a good amount of time(but on the PSP, so only AI fights :/), and I was going to go for P4A. Still haven't actually bought it, though. I mained Hazama and Hakumen, with Jin and Tager as the main-subs. In GG, I mained Robo and Slayer, with Ky as a sub. I guess I like the "stand-out" characters the msot, but ones that aren't too execution-heavy. Who would you recommend?
  3. If only it would actually happen... But nope, we all know it'll become "Competitive." But yeah, looks like the most fun one yet, can't wait for it to come out.
  4. Mega Buster spam worse than MvC2, calling it now.
  5. I just want to put in my two cents real quick. Reading through this thread, I feel like a whole new door is being opened. Knowing that there are people in the community that care about welcoming new blood is great, and it makes me happy that I play these games. Looking back on my experience with FG after this, I realize I've made some idiotic choices, like bashing on other games that I haven't even played, simply because I liked BB and whatnot. I think I might have done that because ArcSys is pretty obscure in my area, and I guess I wanted to herd people here. I play Smash with a few friends from high school(should probably mention that I'm a minor, so I'm pretty limited as far as going to areas where the scene's at), and while we have a good time playing it, I'm pretty bad compared to them. Sometimes we playfully bash eachother, but sometimes it gets out of hand on both ends, and I just end up feeling angry, usually stopping after a bit. Now that I look at the conversations, I made a lot of jabs at the game itself, and focused far too much on the flaws of the game, rather than seeing the good. I hated on the game because it was more of a party game, not a competitive-style fighter, and that was pretty bad. At the same time, I bashed a bit on Marvel, a bit more mildly, but still bashing, because of the relative lack of balancing I perceived in it. Now this thread is showing me a lot of things I've been messing up. I'm starting to clean up my attitude about these things, and life in general, and so far it's having a really positive effect. I'm trying to be more open with other games, and not deifying ArcSys to my friends because of its "non-scrubbiness" system, and I'm trying to be less angry when I play. tl;dr: this thread helps me realize my mistakes, and it makes me feel good inside. Thanks.
  6. Ahhh, okay, thanks. Now I can stop beating my head over this combo and actually focus on real combos. :D
  7. Sorry, no, I don't.. I forgot to mention that its preferable to be as close to the foe as possible, all the way in the corner.. Also, the number of times repeated is as many as is possible to stuff in before finishing with I guess Shippu? I think the Shippu would probably be after a Renka, but maybe you could shove it in after a Tsubaki. Again, I can't really test this stuff because of a lack of skill. Sorry 'bout that, and the lack of video.. I feel a little dumb now, forgetting all this stuff.
  8. (Resident newby, still not sure how forum protocol here works, so excuse me if I do something wrong.) Hey, I've got a random concept combo, but I lack the skills necessary to actually finish it, I was only able to pull off a single part of it. It's a Mugen combo, so yeah, 8*. In Corner 6Cfullcharge > Mugen > Renka(1) > Kishuu > 2C > jc. > j.2A > j.2C > 2C > j.2A > (j.2A?) > ad > j.2A > j.C > Tsubaki > repeat from a Kishuu immediately on landing It's basically an extended bnb combo, but I keep dropping it on the second Kishuu, so could somebody test the damage? Thanks.
  9. Alright, thanks for the answers. Sounds pretty similar, so I'll give it a shot.
  10. Heya. So I've seen some videos, and found that it's only 30 bucks, so I was thinking about trying it out. I've only played GG and BB with any real skill, so my question(s?) is: What do I need to know before I start P4A? What kinds of things are similar between them? And for that matter, what's the depth of complexity compared to BB and GG? Thanks in advance.
  11. Ah, never knew about that little tidbit. Soon as I have time, I'll try some karas.
  12. Oh, okay. I guess I just never pulled it off because of a short cutoff time. Thanks.
  13. I read the definition for it in the wiki, but it still kinda confuses me. So how does it extend the range? Is the character just moving forward(or whatever direction), or is the hitbox just extended? Sorry if it's a stupid question, I'm new here.
  14. Robot, Fedora, THE END HAS COME And Dizzy is just epic cute. Coincidentally, I love how they work.
