That may not be necessary since I believe 6B launches on ground hit...unfortunately this character is rare and I haven't seen footage of that.

"Location: Okayama, Japan" Yup. How do C moves feel as far as startup/recovery compared to CP -SEO/anyone else?
-
Yup exactly. Seeing an action will make them think something is coming and at the time you're doing it, the ball has them in blockstun, but with very little time to react, they're out of blockstun and throw protection (and you should OS with 6S+HS for backdash/jump attempts)

Oh I see what you're saying now I think. You meant backdash j.S low enough in that case? If you want to bait it, I recommend airdash back j.P throw as a throw setup instead.
-
Why don't you press more buttons on your way down chaining from j.S or cancel into mad struggle?

Due to a few constraints, I am changing the NEC regional 5v5 to a general 3v3 Xrd tournament. Friday at 7 PM, no same char, $30 per team.
-
Some command throws have invincibility on them, when does as a reversal, it's a good answer. If you mean regular throw, a meaty should beat it. If you have footage of the situation, that would help clarify, I've never had the latter occur.

What makes you think either of these are N-O? The first player's page: http://www.ggxrd.com/pg/member_profile_view.php?user_id=4753 The other Venom is referred to as "No Card" just as the last Sol is... I have heard from sources N-O is planning to play Bedman as of now, but things can change. HEVEN vs K (Sol) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnfFrOrAyhQ#t=11m

Patience is very important here. Meter will help drastically with YRCs, you can maybe even use Blacksnake's Snakejump tech (basically IAD YRC) when he hesitates. If he's a good distance away, QV charge is fairly low risk, 5P and 2P won't be much a threat. if they it you from far (at best he gets a Resen knockdown into a nonthreatening mixup). If he goes for stance, react and release, then look to punish the stance. It's far easier for Venom to stuff Axl approaching overall, so again, patience. It's the worst situation for Venom in this matchup when you struggle to escape, it's pretty much the only way I ever lose to Axl so far.

It makes for a lot of writing for a tired person x_x. My main concern isn't the 5P BH though, it's the QV itself...well I want to try it more in particular in casual matches...just to see what people come up with.
-
Tell me about it. Venom guide is discouraging to write given how much info there is x_x...still working on it. I have no idea why (PQV 5P BH)xN works so well in practice, in theory they should be able mash something with 9 or so frames of startup after the QV, it's working in execution. Just have to confirm appropriately.
-
Those are generally some of the main options. There's also dead angles and bursting as well. You can also try 2D, making j.S potentially whiff and having Sol land into it. Also make sure you're ready to potentially whiff punish the 5HS on that first option again.
-
To be completely honest....I have no idea what causes it or what the properties of it are. It doesn't power up your Bishop though with that ball if it doesn't get sucked in during the duration somhow...so that much is quite disappointing (I'd just rather have the ball at its max strength right way...

We all know NEC is one of the biggest hubs and gathering for Guilty Gear play in the US. With that in mind, myself and MrBisonopolis have decided to continue what was started at Final Round this year, and throw a 5v5 Regional Teams event! The event will mostly take place on Friday, with some potential spillover in Saturday. 8 teams from different regions will battle it out. If you want to register a team, contact me via DL or Social Media. (@DaiAndOh1, DaiAndOh on Line/Skype). Rules: Teams must represent a particular region. Players may currently live in said region, have spent a significant time playing GG (any version) in that region, or be born in that region. Entry fee is $125 per team. Winner take all. Potential pot bonuses maybe significant enough to have a 2nd/3rd place prize, they are TBD. Format will be pokemon style teams, double elimination bracket. There will be 7 slots for pre-registration, with a single elimination free to enter event earlier on Friday. Although I'm trying to get expansive regional coverage with the first 7 teams, the last team maybe a repeat entrant (such as 2 northeast teams). Japan will not be allowed. The rest of the world is fine, such as Europe and South America should that somehow be possible. Looking forward to seeing the competition!

I don't think that's the case? Make sure you're hitting 6 and not 9 and 3...

Nice writeup Zephyrion. Kento, it's Beak Driver that eats projectiles, Hawk Breaker the DP. They tend to pass through that. Venom can 2D under Fireball super. Sin should not set it up in neutral situations and not expect it.

Let's observe the Johnny matchup with 28 minutes of Fino vs Karinchu

I see...I was going to use notes for that, but I can make them into separate columns...

As part of my plans for this topic, I made a WIP spreadsheet to cover character specific combos and notes. Myself and Blacksnake should be getting to it, but feel free to contribute if you're already sure of the answers (or add new sheets to cover more combos) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1r9sSZBq3iw0hpy3KmqiNMXo_THWieSk-Eurci-Noi1o/
