  3. True, may be worth the little damage loss for the more reliable/safe oki. but after trying some more, it seems bad if they don't tech and take the OTG hits from 5D. I can't even seem to get j.2A after 5D hits Now I wanna to look into just doing 2C (BDC) > 5D more, before I hadn't realized they can't delay tech there. It would be good on Yosuke too who can B+D you if you jump after j214B > 5D. I don't know if all the combos where you can do that will have this OTG problem though. EDIT: Looked at corner AoA: AoA>FC D > 5B > 5C > airdash/delay j.B > j.BB > j.214A > 5B > 2C (BDC) > 5D does 2878 (intead of 2981 for j214B > 5D end). You can get j2A here if they don't tech too. EDIT2: midscreen-to-corner, FC 214B > dash 5B > 5C > airdash/delay j.B > j.BB > j.214B > 2A > 2B > 5C > j.214A > 5B > 2C (BDC) > 5D - (3883) (OTG 5D > j.2A possible)
  4. Cool that Cross Slash one does a tiny bit more (5757 instead of 5736), I can't tell if I personally find it easier yet. From just trying a few times it seems to gain about 1 more SP before the CS too (45 instead of 44) In the second, I'm getting the opponent air teching after the 2A+B though, am I doing it wrong or do other people also get them air teching? It would be nice since if it does work since it ends in sweep, but it does do less than the other 5D ender (4219)
  5. Yeah I see people get away with that a lot. Honestly not much reason not to do it if the opponent fails to realize its not meaty.
  6. Maybe obvious, but I was just trying it recently. If the opponent is late teching to avoid certain meaties after CH B+D or short combo to j.2A (like 2B 5C sjB jBB j2A), you can option select 2A-5B. If they tech immediately, 2A whiffs and you're still at advantage. If they delay at all 2A combos to 5B for decent combo options. Dash 2A gets them closer to corner so you can potentially turn it into 5D oki.

  11. Oh yeah I think I recall seeing that in an early vid, it combo'd on CH f.S. I don't know if it would combo on normal hit but it sounds nice either way. Also that reminded me I've seen people do f.S after a midscreen airthrow before, I wonder if you can do airthrow > f.S > FB fafnir now for combos? I know the f.S is probably height specific, and maybe character specific. But I feel like when I've seen it, it was at a height where just doing airthrow > FB fafnir wouldn't have worked (which only works from realllly low airthrow if I recall).

  13. Yeah it only works on Yu, Yosuke, Mitsuru. They're also characters you can get j.A/j.B (JC) fuzzy j.A on easiest as you'd expect (Yu being easiest).
  14. Oh good point I can definitely see it working there too. Glad to hear it works in practice, if only it worked on more of the cast.
  15. Did a little testing but not sure why you're getting yellow-beat. I don't think neutral tech comes out later than forward/back/up in this game, but I could be wrong. Another fuzzy j.A setup you can use on Yu, Yosuke, and Mitsuru(yay). These are the same 3 the previously mentioned AoA (blocked) > fuzzy j.A works on. blocked 5D > j.B(2) > dash 5A (JC) > fuzzy j.A 5DD etc In theory it should work if the opponent was guessing you would do a 3rd high hit after the j.B, such as fuzzy j.A or j.214A+B. If they stayed blocking high when you do 5A, then switch to crouch seeing that you landed, they get fuzzy j.A. If they crouch-block the dash 5A and remain crouching, you end up with a cross-up 5DD crouch-hit.

  20. Yay a use for D Ziodyne. Apparently, if you delay it slightly after the flash, you can D Ziodyne through Akihiko's Maziodyne. btw 2C is pretty good in this match

Sorry for double post but I've been in the lab lately This never occurred to me til now, but after trying that j.D stuff SKD posted recently, I'm realizing you can fuzzy j.A > j.C in either j.D or 5D pressure. Sadly you need meter to combo after it. Examples: corner j.2A j.D > blocked 5A 2A 2B (JC) (j.D connects) > j.B (JC) fuzzy j.A hit > j.C (OMC)/(OMB)...etc corner 5D > blocked j.B 2A 2B (JC) 5DD > j.B (JC) fuzzy j.A hit > j.C (OMC)/(OMB)...etc Also there are no gaps in these strings on normal block. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPnDlce73Co
  22. Advanced input is your friend. Hold the button and it will repeat the input for 5 frames, makes it a lot easier. If you're attack isn't coming out you pressed too early, if they tech before it hits you pressed too late.

Expensive corner FC 2C combos if you've got meter to burn and can do 5C > 236C+D stuff consistently (don't recall these being posted or in vids but could be wrong): corner FC 2C (DC) > 5C 236C+D CS > 2B 5B 5C j.214B > 2B j.C j.214B > 5D - (5445) 75 meter corner FC 2C (DC) > 5C 236C+D CS > 2B 5B 5C j.214B > 2B j.C j.214B > 2B j.C j.214A > CS - (7135) 125 meter And completely burst-safe combos involving OMB (assuming they wait until after the OMB to burst). I think they could be useful in the last round if the enemy is low enough on life to die from them, or right outside awakening. If they burst at any point in the combo it whiffs, so you can punish accordingly for the kill anyway. Examples starting from 5B: midscreen-to-corner 5B 5C 214D (OMB) > step forward > max range 5B 5C 2C > delay 236C > Ziodyne - (3986, +(OMC)214B 4238) corner 5B 5C 214D (OMB) > backdash > max range 5B 5C 2C > 5C 2C > slight delay Ziodyne - (4288, +(OMC)214B 4352) corner 5B 5C 214D (OMB) > backdash > max range 5B 5C 2C > 2C > CS - (4411) The same idea can be used in combos involving 214B. Basically max range 5B/5C/2C are all completely burst safe.
