  1. "epic" is an understatement here.
  2. What should my focus be for the time being, then? Should I try turning on counter hits in practice mode and grabbing combos?
  3. New batch of vids! RO vs RO mirror! my opponent is returning from a long absence from GG, so the match isn't as epic as it could have been, but hopefully there's a good deal to learn about in terms of which of Robo's moves beat his other moves. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEuHrnxD3IU vs MI Millia is a nasty fight, and a matchup I'm not completely familiar with. As always, pointers are appreciated. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7L6SfWsRY6U http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9jY1A2SDBw
  4. Hi guys, new Zappa here. I've been fooling around with Zappa for a little while now, but only recently got to record some matches of me getting owned by a Dizzy player. What I need to get down is the rhythm of how Zappa works in his different forms; I get the feeling I'm not utilizing the right pokes or something. Well anyway, here are the vids: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooEVtZwaynY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xELrb1IuMSs
  5. I had a new casuals session lately, but only had time to upload one match, there will be more later: vs SL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wcf6vSkwS5o Mostly improving my comboing abilities lately. I probably need to practice some blockstrings, since I think keeping pressure on safely and accurately is my main weakness. Currently I feel like my blockstrings are too short and I spend a lot of the match getting lucky in frequent counter attempts. Also, for those of you who are searching for good robo vids, I've been compiling RO matches I enjoyed over the past few months, and it's at least 5 page long playlist: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=7994082070A27565 There are probably some duplicate entries since some videos get uploaded several times to youtube, and my memory is bad.
  6. Just coming here for confirmation, but in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvHbkyA-hr4&feature=related the player seems to cancel land recovery with FD. Am I guessing right?
  7. Thanks, shibuya...did you go ahead and watch the vids we uploaded without me even posting them? Well, here they are anyway: vs JO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALLtA5C_6ZU mainly to test a video codec, it should look a little better than the rest of the vids here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v74iffgXgk0 the highlight of the vid is the dustbreak mixup near the mid-end of the clip. tips on how to employ it better are appreciated. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChCJBZRxPqo my favorite new vid...I've started pulling off the HS FRC combo a little better...now I just need to find other opportunities to employ it vs PO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxwQXnpW_Tg a testament to my inexperience dealing with temkin, but I'm already at lot better for it. vs OR http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OE19MVSkc54 this matchup has quickly become really tough. I think I may simply be whiffing unsafe moves way too often. Feels kinda silly to be reaching this level of play as BlazBlue is on the rise, but if I give up GG, what would fill in the hole left by our beloved robot...?
  8. I've seen some robo players who have some success zoning with j.p a lot. If you have it out before OR does, it can CH him out of the air...but if you both do it at the same time, OR's j.p will win.
  9. The way I heard it, the hitstop will screw over your attempts to switch block in time unless you slashback. I've seen a Johnny vs Eddie match where the FB Drill unblockable was escaped when the Johnn slashbacked low, then high for the projectile, and then normal blocked the last hits of the drill. Escaping unblockable set-ups by blocking just seems counter-intuitive me, however.
  10. depends on what type of delay server you're connected to everyone seems to be connected to the delay4 server so you might want to try that one.
  11. damn, 4r5 has GG down to a science. killerwatt tends to beat me more often when he gets into a 'zone' and pays more attention to my activity, and then I have to start faking stuff to counter-bait...our meta-game is DEEP.
  12. i think i'll start switching to potemkin for ky fights...they'll learn to respect the finger flick!
  13. Am I supposed to cop out and blame delay, then? Maybe i'm too used to AC...
  14. ah...then how do i get out of ky pressure...haven't been able to figure it out yet.
  15. just started playing reload so i can get owned whenever i want instead of going to the arcade is it just me or does robo suck in reload?
  16. I'm under the impression that ctf closes at midnight. I like how when you start playing GG there people sometimes materialize out of nowhere to challenge you. I'm still disappointed that whenever I play BB someone who is already prepared for a tourney is playing, though.
  17. http://www.youtube.com/user/bigooooooohh tons of Nezu (RO) vs Roz (KY) matches, looks like he's doing some heavy training. He loses most of the time, but it looks like he's learning to only bust out the gimmicks when appropriate.
  18. so the best stomp combos would include the last one Moogle listed?
  19. then it might have been a straight-up tech punish combo...since he altered the timing of j.S>HS so that he could super-jump right back up and air throw as the faust was mashing out of the combo
  20. that may have been a burst bait attempt, which also is pretty safe in terms of damage loss, because his BEAT didn't go dark. In the end it turned into a tech punish, though. If you watch dogura vids a lot, especially recently, he often drops combos because of burst baiting. EDIT: Yeah, and thanks for the reminder about the anti-airing thing. All of us have that problem where we jump because we just don't get anti-aired that often. I'm starting to get better at it with 2HS, and sometimes even 5p works, but using 6p has almost always failed me, so I'm kind of in a tight spot with robo, because 2HS is his most reliable anti-air but is also really punishable if not frc'd...and it's hard to FRC.
  21. It was explained a few posts earlier, but if i understand right, you normally jump cancel by hitting up during the move, right? you super jump cancel by hitting down-up in the same time frame. You can also jump install so you can jump cancel during a super jump combo by hitting up during a move but then canceling the jump by doing another move... And I think you can even sj install off a single move if you're fast enough, which means inputting 828 off a jump-cancel move
  22. I guess no one has much to say about the vids. Whatever, I have a question: In some robo matches, I saw 5k > bazooka used in blockstrings. Is this unsafe, or just a relatively safe frame trap?
  23. that was a pretty flawless Zappa, although it seems he also took all the right gambles. dog setups are a nightmare
  24. cool stuff! I wouldn't mind having someone subtitle his little speech at the end, although I'm certain he said something along the lines of continuing to do his best with GG
  25. You tend to sit around watching after connecting a knockdown. You need to become a little more frantic and start summoning immediately. also: FISHY, FISH, A-FISH, A-FISHY, OH. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWlUu54muOs
