  1. Thanks a lot, I was trying to scour for info but couldn't find it in English, thanks a bunch
  2. Anyone know how much the game will go for on psn? I want to get started on ordering psn cards so I can buy it. :o
  3. Literally every chance I've seen the combo the opponent is crouching. It's most likely similar to the old f.S>6H combo from the older games.
  4. I'm pretty sure I just saw level one k air mist finer counter hit, RC, land into 6k xx air combo. I'm wondering if they're air untechable on counterhit. Really loving the possibilities of his new moveset.
  5. Quick FYI, if no one knows about this yet apparently you can make his vapour thrust dp whiff completely if you do Venom's 2D, even on his wakeup or if he reversal DPs. Could be really good for huge punishes.
  6. 1. You don't have to use the account to play on it, the game's just linked to that profile for downloads and stuff. So if you want to use another account to play online you're fine. 2. Find a store that sells psn cards, usually ebay or the like. Most vendors will tell you they'll email you the code to add to the account. http://www.nippon-yasan.com/modules/blocksearchtim/search.php?orderby=position&orderway=desc&search_query=network&id_category=none This is where I got my cards, the markup is probably the lowest I could think of. They usually send the codes to me at night, since it's probably morning around the time wherever they're stationed at. Also, this guide is good for beginner importers. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/topic/6703-importing-101/
  7. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BB-BZAv6xYc this is a pretty good place to start for visual aid, fishing for combos in Rion videos are fun but hard to visualize all the situations. Seth's good combos are pretty hard but satisfying. :D Also, the only semi-interesting thing I managed to find when playing him is that you can cancel his airdash down move from a jump normal, blocked or otherwise, so I can see it being a tricky thing for mixups. Not safe but can keep the opponent guessing between that and two-part overhead.
  8. So does anyone have the exact price that the game will be available on the digital store? Wanted to not over-buy on the yen
  9. Link leads to a bad page, it seems that the last ) isn't considered part of the link for some reason.
  10. GGs to everyone who played Guilty Gear, and thanks for letting me win Kappa Also Kliff player is my old training partner from the Dark Ages of FGC, so I'm not too surprised he got that far but lol at the Kliff matchup. That character is silly.
  11. Does anyone have timestamps for the songs on the youtube link that was taken down? I didn't think about copying it when I saw it and now it's gone.
  12. Trying to get things in order, haven't been back to NEC for years! Hopefully can confirm soon.
  13. http://www.youtube.com/user/ImShiawase/videos If you guys haven't noticed yet, this person has been uploading all the Jojo videos he could find on nicovideo literally everyday, very useful in finding stuff. Like this Kira setup video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgtPgCvjSa4 Game has plenty of potential for the setup part of the game, just the majority of the neutral consisting of jumping in...ugh. Not to mention the frame rate and stuff like that. I like using Diavolo and Valentine, but with the slowdown sometimes my counter inputs get eaten up or I can't react to something that I know is coming, so I feel like I'm gimped. Still like the game though.
  14. Oh, just to make sure enough people know, midscreen sweep into 5DD isn't guaranteed against Mitsuru, she can 2B it and hit the persona with her invincibility frames from that normal (why does she have that!?!) since it hits the persona she should be able to cancel it into something else, making it a little risky to punish.
  15. Just in case I forget to mention this since I doubt people play this often, 5B and 5C are strong enough to shatter SLab's persona in one hit. I haven't messed with other normals but these will be the most useful since you'll be trying to run at her. Since she shares Labrys' normals she obviously has a range advantage. Be careful when jumping in due to Labrys' 2B being a good anti-air. Try not to get knocked down due to SLab's fairly good oki, counter doesn't really help here much unless she's being reckless. And Labrys' dp is pretty easy to bait, it has armor so it absorbs hits.
  16. Shoutouts to gold bursts
  17. Was anyone aware that SB version of black spot (214+CD) had armor on it? It seems that the armor is not there at startup, but when she starts moving her palms forward. SB version is not a fatal though, but I'm sure this would be good to make people eat counterhits and it still wallbounces on hit.
  18. Team tournaments and last minute registration for Friday, the rest is on Saturday/Sunday.
  19. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xChtr49TnaI
  20. I won't make it to this D-town since there's a team tournament in Austin this weekend, maybe the next D-town I'll try to make it out, need my Skullgirls fix.
  21. How can you not think Parasoul counters Peacock at least a bit? Peacock's inability to handle being pressured+motorcycle going through projectiles means if she has it on-screen at all times you will have to deal with Parasoul getting in fairly quickly, on top of her good normals+pressure game. Peacock would have to start going on the offensive instead of running away solo. Of course since it's a team game, you should make teams to cover your weaknesses, which I think yours is pretty good for it. I look forward to how you evolve btw. Totally sad I couldn't play casuals before tourney starts, I only played my tourney matches that day unless you count the matches I played the day before up till 4 am. 3 hours sleep ftw.
  22. The ebb and flow of the Louisiana fighting game community is an interesting trend that can be seen in Louisiana history. Through years of prosperity and depression, hundreds have been forever changed by the experiences they have had in the numerous arcades, tournaments, and events of this land. Madness and hatred have been engraved in the minds of those who have dared to play, and with every hero and villain that has come and gone, the legends of this land continue to grow. In many ways, this community is the most remarkable example of how games can tie people together, creating bonds that are strong enough to withstand the greatest of calamities. It is with fond memories and respect for our past, that we announce a new kind of tournament. A tournament that celebrates this region, this community, and everything this community stands for. A tournament that will allow us to share our culture, style, and customs with the rest of the fighting game community. It is now, at the crossroads of the past and future, on the eve of the greatest and most unique festival on American soil, that we announce: BATTLE FOR THE SOUTH III: MARDI GRAS MADNESS February 18-19 2012 Crowne Plaza 2829 Williams Boulevard Kenner, LA 70062 (504)467-5611 What is Battle for the South 3? Battle for the South 3 is the spiritual successor to various fighting game tournaments that have been run in New Orleans, Louisiana. This year, Battle for the South 3 will take place on Mardi Gras weekend. Why? Mardi Gras is New Orleans' largest and most unique festival. What better way to share a taste of our home and culture than by hosting a fighting game tournament to coincide with it!? For those that don't know, Mardi Gras in New Orleans is INSANE. If you have never been before, we can assure you its unlike anything you have seen before. Beads, alcohol, AMAZING FOOD, and people from all over the world converge in a humble city to party until the sun rises (and sometimes later). BFTS staff is going to do something really special to make sure tourney participants and people who travel to our event get the Mardi Gras, and Louisiana Fighting game community experience! What to expect: A fun-filled tournament stacked with the deadliest competition. After tournament business, expect to experience a festival unlike any other. Bare chested women, cross dressers, nothing is unusual during Mardi Gras, especially since you will be wasted half the time anyway. Trailer: Coming Soon! Venue: The Crowne Plaza has a room rate of $159 a night for 2 beds for this event. While this may seem steep, this is quite cheap for Mardi Gras season in New Orleans. Note that this event takes place on a Saturday and a Sunday during the busiest time of year for the city, so plan ahead and be on time! For those Flying in: Please fly into Louis Armstrong International Airport. The hotel is actually VERY CLOSE to the airport, so getting a taxi is actually the most efficient means of reaching the hotel. Taxi services will be in full force for Mardi Gras Weekend, so getting to the venue should be stress free and cheap. Registration: Venue Fee: $20 - Starting November 1st $25 - Starting 2012 $35 - At the Door $10 - Per Tournament Entered. Stream: One of the best streaming teams in the game will be streaming this event. Stay tuned for details! Payout: Payouts will be based on a sliding scale of the amount of entrants.
