  1. Wonder if anyone will ever attempt an intentionally broken mod of AC+R PC along these lines, that turns it into something lulzy like SFIV Koryu/SSBrawl Minus. Sure, there's the EX characters, but like SFIV's Omega editions, they're meant to be at least somewhat balanced when fighting each other.
  2. Tekken 6 took about two years from the arcade release to hit consoles, Tag 2 took a year. There's a not-impossible chance that this will end up getting pushed ahead to the NX for the home version.
  3. It'll never happen, but I'd love to see the return of the fireball clash system from the original pair of Darkstalkers games, where two colliding projectiles will push against each other for a brief moment with the stronger one gradually winning out. It was understandable that they ditched it in Vampire Savior, but SFV is nowhere near that fast.
  4. Just like how the new age Killer Instinct lost all its charge commands. It's not like Birdie was Gen to begin with, but I guess they thought SFIV Zangief/T. Hawk players would completely freak out if they had to get used to a new type of input on a grappler, particularly the negative edge button holds. Seems that all 360 motions are being simplified to half circles too though, damn.
  5. Called it, and I don't think there's even been an official conclusion to Season 2 yet. Xbone exclusives are dropping like flies. Too bad, but KI was hardly a system seller to begin with.
  6. Cammy and Birdie revealed. I'm still not hyped. Birdie almost looks like he turned white again, lol. Wonder if they'll finally start pulling SFIII's weirdos (Twelve/Necro/Q/Oro) out of retirement with this one - they're clearly focused on bringing over Alpha's leftovers right now. I expect at least one of the SFII Original 8 to be absent from the starting vanilla cast this time, because that's enough to make it seem bold and groundbreaking at this point. Or hell, put Remy in it. If they can have SIX characters with hadoukens in SFIV, why not have THREE sonic boomers?
  7. The million dollar question about Revelator's voice acting is, of course, who will be cast to fill Iemasa Kayumi (RIP)'s shoes as Slayer. Mugihito (Kinzo in Umineko) and Chafurin (Oishi in Higurashi) would both be solid choices, even if they can't sound quite as dignified. Banjo Ginga could certainly handle it, too - he tends to use a more gruff voice, though he's shown impressive range in a huge variety of roles over the decades. Of course, Banjo's also way more overused, and like with Norio Wakamoto it's gotten to the point where I'm almost sick of hearing him.
  8. Doesn't matter what the fans think. The fact is that uncensored adult Nitro+ VNs have been given official releases outside Japan, including one with an arguable loli character. There is nothing Marvelous/XSeed can do to cover up or gloss over Blasterz's direct connection to these specific VNs in America, to prevent some sensationalist clickbait blog like Kotaku or a few oversensitive ninnies on NeoGAF from creating a PR circus around it. Wyrdwad is already known for being a huge blabbermouth who can never resist throwing fuel onto the fire whenever XSeed gets involved in anything remotely controversial. Whether they actually consider him their "community manager" or not, he's a serious liability to the company, and I'm sure they would have fired him long ago if he wasn't also a competent translator and huge Falcom fanboy. But those VNs haven't been officially released in English at all, which means the mainstream gaming press is much less likely to pick up on their adult origins. The lone Japan-only hentai game the Western press was ever aware of is Rapelay, and it was only singled out because its English title stuck out like a sore thumb on game database search engines.
  9. Good to hear. CP had WAY more arcade lobbies available than it ever needed, anyway.
  10. Chizuru was added late in the game's arcade lifespan, after being chosen by a fan poll. Touka was the go-to "broken" character before then, and she was considerably stronger in one of the earlier balancings.
  11. Groan, I wish they'd just announce the damn game instead of making these "cute" rebus riddles for toddlers in MS Paint. I bet Wyrdwad thought this up all by hisself. Any localizer who picks this up is taking a big PR risk, since unlike with Aquapazza, the connection to adult games is inescapable: the Saya and Hanachirasu VNs have actually been released in the US, sans any censorship. Woe be unto any small company who invites the ire of the SJW hivemind. Predicting lots of exasperated hand-wringing and needlessly overwrought apologetics from Wyrdwad in various forum and comment threads, just like every time XSeed releases a game with boobs or blood. And even more when he has to break the news that it's digital-only.
  12. Not rewiring shit, it works fine on 360 and every other PC fighter I own.
  13. So is it true that the Xbox One version of CP Extend doesn't have the arcade room lobbies? They had an excuse for crippling the online features of P4A Ultimax's 360 version because it wasn't released in Japan, but that doesn't apply here. For an Extend version, I'm okay with a small but persistent community though. It wasn't long after CSE that we heard about CP.
  14. Every time this topic gets bumped back up, I'm amazed to see that some of you guys are still hanging onto AP. Keep fighting the good fight. I don't think Blasterz is going to have nearly the same shelf life even if it gets localized; the ridiculous assists are just too much. I remember AP being more flawed in its earlier versions though, like when ~90% of Japanese tournament players were using Touka.
  15. No one cares about Killer Instinct, tho. Game had a lot going for it, but was crippled by its shitty F2P model and being incredibly light on content through Season 1 (thanks for forcing it as a launch title, MS!). Also Double Helix's incompetence and inexperience with the genre - though Iron Galaxy, who earned something of an actual pedigree porting Capcom fighters, has done a better job.
  16. Now it's even less of a Nitro+ game and even more of a "let's throw in all the popular waifus we can get the rights for" fighter. I mean, Sonico as BOTH a playable fighter and an assist is REALLY pushing it. Expecting someone from KanColle next. Or Aldnoah Zero, since at least Urobuchi worked on that.
  17. The Sony moneyhat is for life, not just for this iteration. I wasn't too interested in SFV to begin with, but this ensures it will not see my money. Would be hilarious if MS shot back with an exclusivity deal for Resident Evil 7, though. Wake me up when we get a console version of Alpha 3 MAX with netcode.
  18. I still think the netcode is pretty good, but I have a T1 fiber-optic connection, so the scales are going to be tipped in my favor. The button mapping issues really need to be ironed out, though. I can't map Dust where I normally put it on my stick, because that button is recognized as Back.
  19. You're a hipster because you still can't get the hell over the fact that SNKP has given up on trying to build their business model on catering to the fickle whims of their aging, dwindling old-school fanbase. No one gives a shit about KOF anymore, except for some random Mexicans, Brazilians and Chinese who only ever played pirated versions of SNK's games anyway and are impossible to market to. I don't like it either, but it's capitalism in action, and if not for pachislots and mobile they'd definitely have gone bankrupt again years ago. KOFs XII and XIII were a tremendous financial and managerial investment for a company of their size, one that nearly crippled them for good. Even after that, they'll still throw a bone to their old guard following now and then, though -- I don't suppose the Steam releases of UM 98FE and 2002 count for anything by your standards, huh? SNKP ended support for the Neo-Geo in 2004, and for the Atomiswave in 2006. Everyone should have already finished their mourning then.
  20. Y'all a bunch of whiny, overreacting hipsters. This has no bearing on KOF XIV. SNKP has a separate dev team for pachinko. A new pachislot doesn't mean they've suddenly abandoned console/PC development forever. You can assume the game is still in the oven until it gets canceled.
  21. Yeah, and you know there would be tons of unique supers and voice clips for story-relevant character pairings.
  22. I think a variation on the Rival Schools tag system would be a good fit for BB. Where team members are called in for certain attacks, and can only be tagged between rounds, which is always optional.
  23. Meh, I'm always glad to see my favorite Russian dancing robot back, even if I also wish they had changed him up more this time.
  24. His Rage Art actually isn't identical to Jack-X's SFxT super animation, but it sure is similar.
  25. Jigglypuff (lightest character) and G&W are the game's true glass cannons. Mega Man is just a projectile zoner with difficulty landing KO moves - you've usually gotta chain the item slide trick with a caught Metal Blade into Mega Upper, or pray that they jump into a fully charged Buster.
