Whats with the lack of Guilty Gear Revolator games out there?
bungiefan replied to LeDelmo's topic in Guilty Gear General
It's a niche game, so they do one production run of discs outside of Japan. Digital doesn't have production and distribution costs so they let that be the sales after launch. PS4 version is $20 on Amazon right now. -
The basic gatling string is explained in the tutorial, P > K > S > HS. However, with all the cancels you have in the game, and that some moves with some characters string into others because of recovery frames being shorter than hitstun, combos are more freeform. You can also spend meter to extend a combo by canceling recovery time from a hit that won't normally let you link to something else. This leaves plenty of room for people to discover and build combos to optimize damage. The game also tells you if your combo can be teched out of, and on what hit, if you want to bait a recovery into an air grab or a new combo.
-
Slashback usage by the CPU tends to support it. They'll also grab you out of moves often before active frames start. The thing is, it does stretches of reading controller inputs, and then it stops doing it for a while. They can't make it impossible to beat, but since it's not learning AI, they have to make it difficult enough to satisfy a solo player for a while. I can beat Arcade mode on any GG on any difficulty, but Survival becomes another story with the bonuses the CPU player gets as the levels get higher. Once you learn the CPU patterns, it becomes very easy to start a combo on them.
-
So how far have you ever gotten in Survival Mode?
bungiefan replied to Blade's topic in Guilty Gear General
We need to know what all the bonuses do in AC+ Survival. Stats are generally self-explanatory, but things like Hunter Saver aren't. -
Justice and Kliff break most of the Missions. Oh, you want me to combo over 14 hits...? OK, throw->Imperial Ray for 43 hits.
-
OK< Justice having access to GG Mode in AC+ is just begging for a chargin mah lahzahs poster.

One of my 3 PS2s is now always hooked into my TV input card, with all the GG games on the hard drive that's in it. You should be doing that too:psyduck: It's my match video maker, not that I've had anyone to make match videos with recently.

The tutorial posted on NeoGAF has been linked here in several threads linking to NicoVideo pages. It's not that hard to figure out. The last link to the tutorial I remember was in this very thread.

I'm still trying to pick an arcana and character. I haven't memorized any full command list for any of them yet. Maori looks like someone I could get used to playing. It just seems I have torupe gettng 623 and super inputs to register much of the time I'm attempting them. I'm also working on a DualShock2, and I've got an old Pelican arcade stick that I've never got the hang of using (236 inputs always cause me to jump and are usualy incomplete, unless the stick is in my right hand, like PC joysticks are placed).
-
Well, I'm not having an easy time picking it up. It doesn't seem to recognize my inputs as well as GG does, and the homing button is something I haven't got the feel for. Then again, I've maybe put 2 hours of playtime in so far, and only one of my friends has bothered to even try the game.

Aleutian has been doing GG adult art like that for a long time.

Guilty Gear FAQ Thread - Ask your questions here!
bungiefan replied to Kairi's topic in Guilty Gear General
I rip the voice files to MP3 now and then through plugging my PS2's audio right into the line-in on my handheld MP3 recorder, but it takes time, and it only holds 128 MB at a time. It also shuts off from overheating after about 20 minutes of use. I generally only do one set (A, B, or C) for one character at a time, depending on what seems to be requested. -
Big Changes In The Anji Thread!!! EVERYONE PLEASE READ!!!
bungiefan replied to TheSlyMoogle's topic in Anji Mito
If it works like other Japanese games with Append Discs, you boot the Append Disc and it scans your memory card for its system file (which is Move and Copy Prohibited). If it doesn't find the system file it prompts for the original version game disc. You pop it in, it verifies it, and writes the system file to the memory card. Then it prompts you to switch the Append Disc back in and boots the new version. As long as that memory card is in the system at boot and that file is intact, it will never ask for the original disc again, just the Append Disc is needed to play. Nobody has announced an NA release of Plus yet, Append or standalone. We didn't get GGX+ either, which came out a month after our GGX. If you imported Japanese AC and use Swap Magic, you can't use it for the Append Disc, because the disc swap will kill the Swap Magic authorization and leave you unable to renew it. ONly a Japanese system or a system with a modchip can use the Japanese Append Disc. Gameplay-wise, AC+ is the same as American AC. It's got the bugfixes from our version. Everything else is just extra single-player modes, and the usual two non-tourney-legal characters. Besides Kliff and Justice, the normal AC version characters will still be tourney-legal, because it's now the same as the arcade version and NA version. The point of releasing AC+ was that the original Japanese PS2 release had bugs that made it not arcade-perfect like the later Wii and American versions were. The bonuses are apology for the wait for the release of the bugfix, which is almost 10 months after release of the buggy version.
