  1. It's been confirmed numerous times that there will be an English dub. No need to fret.
  2. I believe so, as far as playable characters go at least.
  3. The question remains though. Can you guess while sleeping?
  4. Hey you ninjas. I'm just dropping in because I'm curious about something. I keep hearing the Bang is so much better in CP2, and I can definitely see him doing better. The thing is I don't actually know what about him is so much better, he looks like he functions almost identically to his previous iteration. Besides ground bumper, I'm lost as to what is making him so good now. Anyone care to explain?
  5. May just seems solid overall. Nothing about her seems absurd, but when you consider that most lists place her next to stronger characters like Chipp (I swear he would be S if more people used him, character is nuts) and Ky, I don't see where anyone could get the impression that she's weak. You could be doing a whole lot worse than her.
  6. I'm actually kind of interested in Sin. I love his high flying animations and hilarious mechanic. He also wins by being swole as fuck, and I can get behind that.
  7. When I go online and people try belittling me due to my main being "dishonest". I could ask any one of them to pick up my character and do half the shit I do and they would crack. Spoiler: these "dishonest" (see: technical) characters will be the ones blowing you up at tournaments if you keep this mindset, so you better sit down, shut up, and learn to deal. People who use these characters put in the same amount of time and effort into the game as you do. Sorry I don't want to play low/throw/DP all day long. Blazblue is amazing because of its ridiculously diverse cast. Anyone who would want to remove or condemn variety is a moron. This is why I can only play Jin online, but I wanna use my wolf butler
  8. Awesome, thanks man! I knew the matchup isn't actually that bad, it just feels really hectic and wonky sometimes.
  9. I know right? His corner mixups with Bedman are freaking disgusting.
  10. Hey guys, I've been having a bit of an issue with this matcup recently. It doesn't feel hopeless by any means, but I'm finding it difficult to deal with chains in neutral. Not being able to block is really frustrating in these situations. Does success solely rely on punishing him for committing too hard to something? I also feel like I'm suffering the wolf meter nerf pretty hard in this matchup. Any tips?
  11. It's in hopes that maybe for one game and one game only, he can have mixup.
  12. Anything without invincibility will be hit by H-Tandem, meaning that in most cases if Millia gets tagged, the opponent gets counter hit with disc and goes back to neutral mid screen, or into a combo/oki setup in the corner. Anyone who is yolo enough to DP out of disc oki can be easily conditioned to think otherwise, and by that I mean you hold down back and laugh as they fall into a free combo.
  13. Stagger pressure is actually really strong in GG. Most of the cast actually have fairly weak high/low mixup. Millia is one of the few who doesn't. Venom and Ky are perfect examples of characters that rely on stagger pressure to force people into making mistakes. The thing is, Millia's pressure is actually pretty weak. Given that her gatling table is quite limited, she doesn't have many options to keep the opponent respectful. If you arent going for a tick throw or just staggering 2K/2P, a standard Millia string would look something like 2K > 5S > 5H > 2D > 236S. At this point you would be pushed out far enough that you will probably end up resetting to neutral, but for Millia that's actually not a bad thing. Since her pressure is lacking, resetting to neutral puts you in a position to make a read on what the opponent is going to do to contest you at the footsie range you got pushed back into. It's here that you can use your mobility advantage to punish whichever option your opponent chooses if you make the right call. You could catch a backdash with microdash 5S or IAD pin for example. If the opponent IS being respectful, you can use 6K or TK Badmoon to try and score a knockdown, though the latter is a bit risky. I also know I mentioned it before, but throws are super rewarding for Millia, so use em! In Xrd she does have some limited frametrap potential with Digitalis, but it's still a risky option and you really have to be reading your opponent for that stuff to work. YRC is also an option obviously. The bottom line is that you aren't going to be opening people up with her blockstrings all that often, it's the fact that it sets up her scary bait/punish game that it could be considered effective. It's kind of a strange gameplan in comparison to other characters which is why she has been an infrequently played character.
  14. With Arcsys keeping the story consistent after Overture, I would say it's pretty safe to assume Troy Baker and Liam O'Brien will be returning as Sol and Ky respectively. In truth, none of the cast has been officially announced yet. Also that's a question that should probably be in the Arcsys voice acting thread. I'm not entirely certain, but I would play it safe.
  15. I think making him a rushdown/grappler hybrid in the same vein as Bullet would be really interesting. GG hasn't really had one of those yet (I think?)
  16. GG has always had a Valk though. Her name is Millia.
  17. I agree with Fenrir. If any of the new cast screams Guilty Gear to me, its Bedman. As for Leo, I'm interested to see how he turns out. I just hope he's not another generic rushdown character that does loldamage, he needs something interesting to set him apart. Also, enough of the Azrael comparisons. If you want a character like him, we've had one for over 10 years.
  18. People who think I'm trolling by not playing Valk against them and opting for Jin instead. Try doing wolf brakes and w.ja > h.5C links underwater and come back to me please.
  19. Not being able to block in that matchup is going to be hell. I don't think my body is ready. I've only played a Nu once across 1.0 and 1.1, and it still felt somewhat tricky. Gonna have to grind it out like everyone else.
  20. You guys wanna talk about baiting DPs being risky? Try not being able to block and relying on a command dash with a small window of I-frames. Seriously though, Dreiko made really great points. I'm honestly scared to pressure any character with a DP of any sort, as there is literally no way to keep them blocking safely without blowing all my resources with wolf brake j.A. This is partly why some of Valks more stressful matchups are against relatively simple characters (Shoutouts to Ragna being 5-5 even in 1.0). This dynamic encourages you to rely on a bait/punish game, which as I stated before can be risky. I oftentimes forgo damage and opt for safe jump setups in situations like this. DPs are spooky.
  21. Just dropping in for another reminder that Ali Hillis is the one true Millia <3 Also, Lucien Dodge as Bedman is one of the best ideas to come out of this thread.
  22. Extend and CP feel VERY different. Extend is considerably slower and characters do way more damage. I feel that you could still retain some skills from it though. Just know that certain characters got considerably reworked from EX to CP, like Hakumen, Valkenhayn, Jin, and Lambda/Nu to name a few. I remember I had to relearn Valk like he was a brand new character. They changed everything down to some of his button layout T_T
  23. Wanting to actually play online and nobody is on except one random yolo Azrael that I beat. He then proceeds to dodge me forever. I just want to play tho.
  24. Because 80% of the people who used her didn't actually give a shit about the character and jumped ship. Gotta win that e-sports money. Don't you wonder why we have Tetsuwo and Tsujikawa back to their respective mains?
  25. In response to the discussion of the TK.214B nerf affecting our oki consistency, I had actually seen Suya use a route that nets guaranteed 6C > 3C oki every time. w.5C > 6D > w.jA > w.5C > w.236A > 5D > h.[2C > 6B(1) > 236C > 236A > 5B > 2C > tk.214B > 6C > 3C > 236B] - 3101 Damage, 22 Heat. Given that this is a w.5C starter, we might be forgoing a bit of damage for this route. But for those of us like myself that prefer oki over damage, this is a route that I think looks worth using.
