So I find myself constantly whiffing my bat supers midscreen after standard j.B > j.B > j.236A combos and its getting me killed super hard. Is there anything I'm missing? Do I omit one j.B? It randomly happens with other confirms as well. FYI the combo Im trying is j.B CH > 2A > 2B > 5B > j.B > j.B > j.236A > 236236A. Also, how do I combo 2 supers together in big damage combos? I see that you can somehow combo his regular bat super into his 214214C/D super, and I have idea how to make it work. -
I've been playing this matchup a decent amount and it doesn't feel great. Her DP flat out negates some of our pressure options, which is a pain. It feels like success solely depends on getting a big punish to get to VC, because you aren't going to be opening her up very often. You HAVE to play around her 5A, as it wins against all of our ground pokes. Her j.A is also a big issue due to its range. If there are any tips people have for dealing with this bitch, please share! It definitely feels winnable, but you have to play very respectfully and capitalize on every mistake they make. It's 6:4 at worst. Oh, you can bat the tip of her 5D/j.D to reflect a fireball. Shit is so hype.

I personally go for bunt. It leaves you closer to them which makes for easier 5A oki. Fortunately Junpei's pressure is the same in both modes, so even without 10 runs, he's no slouch once he gets people blocking. -

Alright so I'm blown away by the consistently high damage potential of this character. I finally got clean hits down and I'm never pulling anything less than around 3K off of just about ANY confirm. My only issue now is utilizing AoA because some asshat at Arcsys decided to make them 18 hits, and we get like 5K off of it so its making me pretty sad, haha. -

Clean hit timing is gonna take a long time to get used to. His normals are turning out to be deceptively good! He definitely feels stronger than I had initially thought though. As for the matches I played, the Aigis matchup feels freaking AWFUL, although this is really my first time seriously getting into Persona, so I might just need to get gud. vs Naoto seems pretty fun, lots of situations to punish stuff with Deathbound. Her j.B is a pain in the ass though. Mitsuru is pretty much what I expected, just a battle of footsies. -
This is the only thing that has me scared. All it would take to keep me on board would be for wj.C to remain a viable overhead option. As much as it saddens me, I could still totally deal with the command grab nerf. It makes me sad because if worse comes to worse I don't know who else I would play. I can't think of anyone else who is a purebred mixup character. I'll also agree about 1.1. He definitely feels like he as been toned down enough to leave "bullshit character" status. I actually think it's the most fun version of him to date IMO as it really forces you to weigh your options, play smart, and optimize all your confirms to suit the situation.

Man, I'd take AC Potemkin over Waldstein any day. How bout those safe on block pressure strings with free pressure resets? I'll hold out on Pot getting better at some point. I hate grapplers, but I think he's intelligently designed enough that he can be tweaked to get tons of milage out of Xrd's system. -
If you want a more optimal corner carry combo, use w.5A > 5B > 5C > 6D > j.A > 5B > IAD > j.B > 3D > j.A > [h.5B > 2C > sj.BAB > dj.BC] If you are close to the corner once you reach the switch to human, you can do h.5B > 236A > 2C > TK.214B > 6C > 3C for better oki. All I can say about the w.jA > h.5B is that you should fiddle with the timing. Wolf switching is done through "pianoing", this means that two or more buttons are pressed in rapid succession. I play on pad for example, so when I do this specific piano, I rest my thumb on both D and B and press starting at D and moving up to B. This inputs the switch to human with 5D and the 5B all in a few buffer frames. It's usually something new Valks struggle with, and learning to consistently switch from wolf to human and vice versa is critical to playing this character. Just grind it out and it will come naturally!

That's what I'm worried about. Without w.jC he will be Yosuke levels of "I take 10 combos to kill you" obnoxiousness.

What I meant was before, Valk was indisputably better, now Relius wins with safer neutral and more consistent damage output. He is far from being bad at all. I realize I should've worded that better now, haha. As far as offensive monsters with strong neutral go, Relius has the edge IMO.

Even as he is now, Valk cant even come close to that. Midscreen you will get 2.5K on average with corner carry, and that's assuming you got a beast cannon counter hit, counter hit human 5B/5C or a wolf 5C counter hit AND have the wolf meter to spend. And the unblockable mixup you're referring to nets you 1.5 - 2K and costs about 40% of your gauge unless you go for a safe jump which axes the damage down to 1.4K. The corner is where optimal damage comes in, but that goes for all characters. I know I sound like an ass for bitching about Valk of all characters, but people seem to forget he's pretty mid tier now, not the absurd monster he used to be. I swear if more people used him they would realize the wolf normal nerf and meter nerf stifled his neutral and offense considerably. Relius is a better character than he is right now, think about that. This is partly why I get upset when people avoid me online because I use him. Valk vs Ragna is 5-5 for god sakes. If the most basic character in the game can go 5-5, I don't think that spells "overpowered character". I know I'm preaching to the wrong choir though, I just don't want to come off as a whining scrub.

That's how it's looking. Except now my character doesn't actually hurt at all. Gonna have fun never breaking 3K anymore due to wolf normal nerfs. I was even considering switching to Tao, but she does even less damage now. I'll hold out for now, but I'm still pretty cautious. On a brighter note, it might put a new emphasis on stagger pressure for the characters that were weaker in that area before. This would make for a much more mind game heavy fighter, although 50/50s are the things I've always loved the most in these games....

I believe Potemkin and Bedman are two beefiest characters. And while Chipp does have poorer defense than Millia, his guts rating would debatably give him more defense than her. -

I think the grenade cooking mechanic is awesome. Arcsys has hit gold with her playstyle, I'm super excited to see what she can do at a high level! No doubt her combos will look super stylish with her gun stance switches. -

I think Elphelt is easily the most interesting new character Arcsys has made in a long time. I'm totally down with her being playable. Leo looks sick too, I'm sure the people who wanted edgy badasses will be happy. -
Better get on that man, I need that to win and shit. I'd do it myself, but I don't have the game. Also, I forgot to ask one other thing. Does it ever feel like a struggle to manage the baseball meter when it comes to whiffing moves and getting outs? I can imagine it would be hard to stop yourself from jumping around throwing j.B like you would with other characters.
