  1. How not to play against Tager: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBTpdR2AiWw Mike_Z(TA) vs Pulsr(HA)
  2. Opponent can still hit you until you tech and you can't block on wakeup if you don't tech. When I first picked up the game I couldn't figure out why I couldn't block boss nu's million sword super.

  4. I'm planning on coming but my level of play isn't near that of yours or FranktheTank's. I know Moroha would destroy me and I haven't seen any vids of Funkdoc. Ugh. I haven't been practicing lately because of the first week of school but I'm trying to find time.

    May vs Johnny

Against Johnny, do NOT 6P when you expect him to use his super on wakeup. He'll recover faster than you and do dirty, dirty things to you. If you can hit him out of it, I haven't succeeded yet in doing so. I've had the 6p and the super wiff each other from the invincibility frames on both but he recovers so much faster than you do. Also speaking of Johnny, what do you do if he decided to play it safe with spamming 5H on the ground and using j.H for air to ground and j.S (long range) for air to air. When the Johnny in my area plays like this the only time I can manage to get in is when he gets bored and starts being aggressive or botches his timing. I've been slowly getting used to his mixup (blocking wise. I'm having trouble finding gaps where I can get away or get in his face. Though once he runs out of coins its a lot easier but then he starts jumping like crazy.) so now he's starting to turtle a little more against me.

    [AC] May: Videos

As you say it comes down to reflexes. I see a lot of stuff coming but my hands don't react fast enough most of the time. And me doing 5K 2D SHD or SVD a lot comes from me not knowing (or remembering) all my options. But I'm not real sure how to speed up my reflexes. Just playing more against new opponents?

    [AC] May: Videos

So I've got some casual matches recorded of me playing against the only two GG players within short driving distance. I will warn you ahead of time that I suck, but I'm striving to get better. Any critiques would be great. 8. I'm planning on going to SER3. Going to register when I can get enough funds in the next couple of weeks or so. So if you can't find enough May action count me in. I'm going to try to practice my ass off in the mean time.
  9. Even so, I've only seen the one vid on Moriyama. I just want more exposure.
  10. Sad that Kedako didn't make it, but I'm glad Moriyama did. I've been searching all over for vids of him playing but I've only found one of him vs Nemo, so now hopefully we'll be able to see some new stuff eh?

    [AC] May: Videos

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBKDsp2zCBk Suppose I should post this here as well. Has all of the practical (I think) setups into May's lame loop. The video has audio of the guy tapping away on his arcade stick, so you should be able to get a feel for how you can do all of these. And as Kyle mentioned in the combo thread the guy doesn't jump install on any of the loops, so take with a grain of salt.
  12. Quickly input 5S 5H (Just gatling the move as fast as possible. If you do it too fast then the game won't recognize both inputs) then hold down. Just try to do it standing first. If you need more help, watch this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBKDsp2zCBk The vid has all (AFAIK) of may's common methods to starting up her lame loop, and the video conveniently has sound, so you can hear him tapping on his arcade stick.
  13. Its all about timing. I suggest picking Sol and using OHK starting out. First thing you have to time/eyeball is how high they are before inputing 5S© 5HS [2]. When you hit them with 5S© you should notice that most characters will flip up and their feet should be at about May's waist. Next is how long the delay is. Usually even though the inputs are uneven, I've noticed that a proper delay has the same rhythm as the 5S© 5HS. It'll sound steady, bam bam bam. When they come back down though is a different thing entirely. You'll just have to experiment till you get it right. Try to time it so that the 5S© hits them at about the same height as you did before. Too early and you'll end up doing 5S(f). Too late and either you'll hit them with 5S© and they'll be knocked away before you can hit them with 5H or 5S won't come out at all and you'll hit them with 5H. Comments anyone?
  14. Alright, so I'm going through the whole cast, trying to learn OHK > Lame Loop, and her other setups into lame loop, but same characters I'm having trouble figuring out what height to start them at, should I run, etc. pulsr had a good post about this (shown below) This has helped me a lot with the characters listed that arn't quite the same as some of the easier members of the cast to loop. Anyone have any other further pointers for this kind of stuff? In particular I'm looking for tips on looping Johnny. I've found a couple vids of him getting looped after OHK but I still can't figure out the timing. EDIT: So I played with it a bit more and found out how to loop Johnny, but I'm sure this would be worthwhile data to collect. So I'll offer my piece of advice. When you land from the OHK, hold 6 to walk and loop normally.
  15. Fuujin is Anji's special where he rushes forward then does some other move depending on the second button pressed, such as a sweep, jumping up and launching fans, his force break that bounces if it hits, etc. His HS Fuujin is invincible to strikes on startup as well.
  16. And a light doth shine upon my brain. Using Order Sol as my punching bag I realized that I'm not waiting the correct amount of time before he falls in the right spot for me to 5S 5HS SVD on the second loop. I can do two loops about half the time now against Order Sol now so as soon as I feel confident about looping him into oblivion I'll move on to other characters. Thanks for the help!
  17. So I've been practicing quite a bit in the past week to try to get the timing down for the dolphin loop starting from OHK, but I'm at a loss. I've been attempting this on different characters to see if I could manage to get it down on one then I'm sure I'd be able to make a few adjustments and do it on all of them. So I'm at the point where I think I have the correct amount of delay between the the SVD and 5HS, but when the character comes back down I hit 5S 5HS the 5S either doesn't come out and I end up doing 5HS or it looks like it comes out too early and I end up doing 5S(f). I've gotten through to the second interation of the loop a couple times by accident but I haven't be able to really reproduce it. I've even downloaded some of Kedako's vids of single combos and watched the OHK ones but as I've said, I'm at a loss of what to do. Having attempted this no less than 500 times in the past few days, you'd think I'd manage to figure it out but its becoming frustrating.
  18. - Since I've only recent decided to start working on May's combos and such, I'm still working on getting down any sort of VD loop. Right now I'm just practicing doing OHK, VD loop on the characters my friends play the most, but the timing can be wierd. Like I almost have the timing down for Sol for 10 or 11 hits but against Johnny, I can't continue after the first loop, but I just realized I need to do 5P, 5S, 5H to keep going after the first loop. I just haven't practiced that much recently because the end of school is getting crazy. -Getting in to do damage. Sure I can just toss out random stuff and get a couple hits in, but I can't do anything consistently. One of my friends pretty much has Johnny as his main and is usually pretty good at keeping me away. Any time I try to approach I usually either eat a mist finer or end up FD braking and get pushed away and go right back to where I started. -I like how you can follow almost anything up with a dolphin for extra damage.
  19. Novix Steven Boone, North Carolina Sol, but I'm bad. Local folks that I play with a lot. 3 players that cover most of the cast. The guys here are decent but only one takes the time to practice with Slayer for combos. I wouldn't be against housing folks. I want to travel but money is an issue. Comes down to me not working enough to pay for long drives.
  20. Been lurking on these forums on and off for the past 6-8 months or so, and I've finally told myself I'm going to sit down and learn May, even if it kills me. Yesterday we had a LAN party at the University I attend and we had a small GGX2: AC tourny with a small showing of mostly people I've played before(read, A LOT) but a couple that I hadn't. Long story short in one round against a guy I haven't really played before playing Slayer, my mixup was so overused by the 3rd match I could hardly get in to do any damage and I ended up losing. What kind of stuff do you guys normally do for mixup? I wanna try to get together a comprehensive list so I don't get too predictable. One other thing is I've heard the term tick throw used, I sorta know that it means tossing in a throw instead of attacking again, but how is this pulled off? I'm guessing using something like 5S, then somehow grabbing them but when I try I'm always too far away. I haven't really tried dashing in after the 5S or whatever to try to grab, but is this what needs to be done for a 'tick throw'?
  21. Hi everyone. I'm new to the forums and relatively new to the game. I picked up GGXX (original) this past summer and got AC the week it came out. Favorite character in the original was May, but with AC I've been taking a liking to ABA. I just recently picked her up so my execution is pretty terrible at the moment (I'm also learning to use a stick at the same time ) so I don't combo much but its slowly getting there with whatever time I can invest in training mode. Anyway, my main question was how exactly do you approach people with ABA? Try to dash towards them(air or ground)? Wait for them to come and try to combo into keygrab? One of my friends plays Dizzy and will spend most of the match either spamming projectiles or will put up one of those spike balls and release it as he's about to cross over and attack me from both sides then rush away again. Do I just hope I can get enough time to bloodpack and then rush down? Sorry if I asked this stuff in the wrong thread.
