  1. Game sounds fun, but I'm wondering if we should buy UNIEL with the new version out in arcades. Is it worth or should we wait for the new version on consoles?
  2. I'm also wondering too whether I should buy this game, but that's mostly because they have a new version out in the arcades. I don't want to buy the game and then the new version comes out on console the next day, but if it's going to be another six months or something I'll probably go ahead and buy UNIEL anyway.
  3. I'm certainly not planning on buying the new BlazBlue for 6200 yen. Things might change, but for now it just seems like a glorified balance patch. I'd rather spend that money on UNIEL.
  4. Wow, Izayoi is as good as Azrael now? Best Blazblue ever! Nu was already one of her hardest match-ups though IMO, so I guess that's not to much worse for me that Nu is better now. So how is Kokonoe looking in this version. I haven't seen to much of her recently. Is she still good?
  5. So I take it that Tager's hardest match-ups are at the top then? That would make sense, but what is the left-right axis supposed to represent? Also, how is Kokonoe looking to people as of BBCP2? I've barely seen anyone playing her recently from the Japanese arcade footage, so I'm guessing she isn't nearly as dominant as before.
  6. Honestly, I like that people talk about so many different topics in this thread. It's kind of like a one-stop place to learn about the most important elements of various characters when you don't need all the in-depth details from the character subforums. The thing that I don't like about this thread is when I click into it every other day and think that I accidentally mis-clicked on the Tsubaki forums. A general overview of a character is fine, but a 3-4 page long discussion of super specific details that only the Tsubaki mains would care about is too much. Actually, I think that should sort of be the cut-off for the purpose of moderation. If a discussion stops being "general" and starts being too specific, it should probably be redirected to the character's own forum to continue the discussion.

Yeah, active frames don't get cancelled when you hit the opponent, so that makes spacing even more important in some cases because you get better frame advantage if you hit the opponent later during the active part of the move. I think that's one thing that makes Platinum's 6B really good sometimes because it has 12 active frames, so even though it's listed as -7, if you hit the opponent from the right distance, it ends up being +4 IIRC.
  8. OK. Thanks for the info. It'll be interesting to see what happens next with the franchise. Hopefully they might add a few new characters in addition to Celica.
  9. I'm pretty sure I main Izayoi because she looks like a boss when Shimotsuki plays her. Before that I played Nu/Lambda because her style is so different from typical FG characters that I wanted to give her a try.
  10. So was it confirmed that BBCP2 will a be a new disk, or are they going to patch the current game? I might have to set aside some money for it.
  11. You think so? I didn't even think they had any plans for the console version, at least until they've gotten the arcade version squared away. But, yeah, I think they were just changing a bunch of odds and ends that people didn't like too much to see what people thought of the game without them. Probably the test versions going forward are going to be a lot more focused now that they've got some more general feeback.
  12. Well, I don't think that Rachel's IOH is a problem. I just think that it makes her a one-dimensional character since she doesn't really have any other decent mix-up. To be overly general, Rachel is pretty much in the same boat as Tsubaki in that their move pools are both pretty mediocre, except that Rachel actually has one really good move, while Tsubaki doesn't. I think they would both benefit more from just having all their normals buffed rather than relying on gimmicks. I guess Rachel's isn't necessarily a gimmick since it works well, but she's still kind of a one-trick pony.
  13. I guess that's really what I'm getting at here. Like mAc said, Rachel is cool because of the frogs and pumpkins and lightning strikes and such. I'd rather she be defined by that and have the solid normals to back it up rather than be defined by a gimmicky overhead that's so crucial to her design that she would be trash tier without it, even with all of her traps. Her IOH ought to be godly, but it isn't even that good because you know she can't do anything besides that, so that's the only play to counter. Her IOH is more of a crutch than anything, a tool you're forced to rely on because you can't do anything better. IMO, she would be a more interesting and fun character to play with and against if they removed her instant overhead and buffed all her normals as compensation, so she could actually use real mix-up.
  14. Honestly, I kind of agree about Rachel. I don't think any characters should have gimmicky instant overheads like that, much less be forced to rely on them. The devs should find some other way to make her solid, like making her 4B actually decent, for example. Also, Celica's damage generally doesn't look all that bad to me. It looks like Ash Rôtir does like 2500 base damage by itself or something like that, so all they need to do to fix her is to make that move do less damage. They'll probably have that under control by the next loketest.
  15. Hmm. I was just thinking more about the Strike Fall -> Valkyrie Astraea change, and now that I think about it, that should make TK Noir Edge a legit overhead now, since that means that she can now do Noir Edge -> Strike Fall -> Valkyrie Astraea -> combo, so now that's not just a rapid cancel gimmick anymore. I hope that's how it works out anyway. 14f overhead FTW!

  17. Yeah, it's not all that much damage since you tech out of it for free. It would probably be better to do a combo with less damage that let's you keep pressure. Also, it looks like you can hold her healing Distortion longer in order to restore more health. Maybe she could knock the opponent away from her on purpose in order to heal for a lot.
  18. Oh, it looks like Lambda can do the Sickle Storm from behind. You can see it around 4:20.
  19. Well, at least they buffed Izayoi. They gave her a DP and new cancel routes. That's the nice thing about playing a low tier character: your character gets buffed every version. Unless your Makoto. Or Tsubaki. Or Tager.
  20. At last, our patience and faith have been rewarded. Our character can finally defend herself! I'm so hype for next version. Aegis Blade DP FTW!
  21. Hmm. I'm curious about the change to Trans-Am. I like that it potentially costs less stocks now, so I feel like it's even more useful now that you can get it super cheap. On the other hand, don't you need stocks to do Trans-Am combos? What exactly are you expected to do without Valkyrie Astraea or Strike Fall? Also, it's going to be nice to combo Strike Fall into Valkyrie Astraea. Now we can combo GA anti-airs without wasting rapid cancels. You can probably also use it to extend combos that use 3C, but not Valkyrie Astraea too. It should be fun to mess around with.
  22. Yeah, I'm also a bit sad about how similar Lambda is to Nu. It seems like they'll play quite differently, so I'm not even worried about that. It's just that design-wise, Lambda is literally a palette swap of Nu, and even just uses Nu's old theme song. Then again, Luigi started out as a palette swap of Mario, so Lambda might be distinguished more as time goes on. They did a good job with Minerva even though she was originally a palette swap of Nirvana, so maybe Lambda will get the same treatment too at some point. Also, wow, Arakune doesn't even have to hit you now to Curse you. I can't wait to get insta-Cursed at the start of the round vs. Arakune.
  23. This is the impression I got. I was thinking that you could only do Exiga Nail on the ground and Lambda jumping was just part of the animation. I didn't think she had an air version. So I wonder if Exiga Nail has any invulnerability to it. You might be able to bait stuff with Act Parser Zwei -> Exiga Nail if that's the case. Also, I wonder if you can still combo after Act Parser Zwei - Blade. While I'm not really a fan of stance Nu, I do like that you can combo after that right now.
  24. You can start the round with OD as Izayoi against Nu to get 4 stocks since Nu's drive projectiles are faster than Sonic Saber and Nu will never be anywhere where you can hit her with Crusade Seraphims. Having stocks against Nu makes that match-up much more manageable, but they're pretty hard to get the normal way, so I think that's a good strategy.
