  1. I would think the former is more likely. Wasn't Extend their worst selling BB game since not that many people wanted to basically buy BB2 again? But yeah, I don't expect them to be working for free, so the new characters are almost certainly DLC at the very least. I don't remember them doing this before, but I hope they sell a discounted bundle with all of the DLC characters. I'd totally buy that.
  2. So I see the Nu's Sickle Storm wall bounces in the corner now, so that's pretty cool. She can Act Parser into the air now and has a new j6.D, but I couldn't really tell what those are useful for just from watching. For Lambda, her aerial drive can pull standing opponent's into the air, so I fell like her air Drives are going to be a lot more dangerous than Nu's. Apparently her Drive swords spawn closer to her, so she can combo them after close-range attacks, and you can combo Act Parser Zwei: Cavalier after 6C. I'm not really sure what the uses are for 6B, Exiga Nail, or Act Parser Zwei: Blade just from watching, but I guess we'll find out in due time. I like what I see from Lambda so far.
  3. It would be interesting if this time Lambda was controlled by the soul of the original who died in the experiments. I think that would distinguish her more from Nu. Otherwise, I'd be happy if Lambda got to be chill and laid-back like in BB2. I hope Lambda doesn't have to be Kokonoe's slave again though. Also, I'm curious about how Minerva works. Is she powered by souls like Nirvana and Ignis, or does she just run on batteries?
  4. Yeah, I was hoping she would be more distinct too. They did a good job making Minerva not look like a palette swap of Nirvana, so I'm sad to see that Lambda and Nu look pretty similar. Hopefully there's still time to touch her up a bit more before she's released. Also, I hope she gets her own theme song instead of sharing Awakening the Chaos with Nu. If not, then you might as well just play Blood Pain when they fight each other, lol. I think Hibiki is more likely if they have enough room for him in the character roster. I'll bet Jubei is going to be the DLC character for the very last installment of Blazblue after Izanami is playable.
  5. Does Celica gameplay remind anyone else of Bedman, or is it just me? So she looks like she has a godly anti-air, a godly projectile, and a godly backdash. I think those things at the very least are going to make her a pretty solid character in addition to her other abilities. I don't think she'll be outrageously good like Kokonoe, but I think that the Celica fans got a pretty good playable character though.
  6. Celica's anti-air looks godly, and her projectile looks like it's higher level than Sonic Saber. It's seems like it's going to be really hard to Izayoi against her. I'm super excited for Lambda though. Hopefully we get some footage of her in a couple of weeks. I wonder if Lambda can use Legacy Edge now. I feel like that move would be more useful for her than Nu. I'm also curious how her new drive differs from Nu's drive. Hopefully it's more useful with Act Parser Zwei moves. Even though I didn't much care for stance Nu, being able to combo after Act Parser Zwei: Blade was pretty cool.
  7. So in Japan, when you go to the arcade, is there a membership you can buy that lets you play at their arcade for the month or something like that, or do you have to pay each time you play a game?
  8. I think that it would be cool to have the balance updates and such as a patch and the new characters as DLC. Maybe they could make a bundle for the new characters + Kokonoe, Kagura and Terumi for like 20 yen or something, and a normal priced retail version with all the content. I think that would be a good deal for the people who already have the game. I hope they don't make it for PS4 though. I don't even have a PS4 and there aren't really any games I want for it and I bought the PS3 just to play fighting games, so that would suck for me. So I'm suddenly really glad that I dropped Nu for Izayoi. Nu's mode change combos were too hard for me, so I'll be glad to have some "normal" zoners, but I feel for the Nu mains who invested a lot of time in that iteration of Nu/Lambda. They changed Izayoi's Gain Art Mode too, but that made her better though, so I was cool with re-learning it. Maybe Nu and Lambda's new stuff will make them a lot better and more coherent as well? That would be fantastic if that happens. I'm personally most excited to see how Lambda comes out. A "rushdown zoner" would be so much fun!
  9. Oh, I see. That makes sense. Thanks for the clarification. Although it's still a bit of a strange reason since right now there are 8 males and 6 females, so adding Tsukuyomi would make the roster more balanced by that line of reasoning. But it's like you said, they probably just don't have the time to add her if they want to release the game next Thursday. Also, yay for new sub-forum! Are we going to get a separate topic for each character like the Arcana Heart forum? Also, since the other topic is locked now, do we still have a general discussion thread? Should I be posting questions like this here? (EDIT: AnnelFrank answered my above question in the other thread. Thank you!)

  12. Wow, we're getting Lambda back. That's pretty cool. I always liked her as a character. Her story was so tragic though, so I hope she gets a happy ending this time. If she ends up being different enough, I'm probably more excited about her than Celica. I think that's a pretty safe bet though. If her drives and specials are different, she'll probably be about as similar to Nu as Mu is.

I think the hardest part about playing Akatsuki is just getting in since he's the only one who doesn't have a move that hits halfway across the screen, but he seems pretty good once you close the distance though. So I'm thinking to play Yuzuriha, but I wonder how hard she is to learn. Surely she isn't as difficult as Izayoi? Also, does anyone know if she can she cross people up with her teleports?
  14. I don't really see the issue with purple throws. If the lag is so bad you can't tech one of the slowest moves in the game, I feel like you wouldn't be able to properly react to anything and should just find an opponent with a better connection.
  15. The timing for CS Gamma - 214A - 2B throws people off a lot, so probably it would be nice to have some tips on that along with the combos for it.
  16. Maybe Mori will decide to make Celica playable, then you could play as Celica and Minerva! Celica is super popular after all, so she could save the franchise once sales decline!
  17. @Crimsonstardust: I can't comment much on the Mu-12 match-up because I'm not good at it and Someonewhodied is really good with Mu, but in the Platinum match-up, another thing I think might help is just to practice your confirms. It seemed like you were getting a lot of hits in, but just not converting them into damage. For example, at the end of round 2, you successfully DP with Justice Phorizer, but don't follow up on it (you need to delay 214D slightly when you get a counter-hit). You managed to take that round anyway, but that one failed confirm potentially cost you 2k+ damage. Someonewhodied seemed to be converting hits into combos more often, and I think that was a big factor in that match. Most of your missed confirms happened because Platinum jumped I think, so maybe practice some stuff that works on airborne opponents. I also think you could have considered safe-jumping the Cure Dot Typhoon as well since Platinum had the meter for it, but I don't think you need to safe jump Platinum otherwise unless she has the Magical Bat. Also, almost half of the combos you got hit by were from counter-hits with the Magical Cat Hammer, so probably just be more cautious when it's equipped.
  18. @Justice: I think you pretty much just have to time it a certain way, late enough so that you don't slide under the opponent, but early enough that they don't tech. I've been practicing it too, but I still need more practice since I never did that before the patch since it wasn't all that useful then. The cancelable Justice Phorizer from Strike Fall is super useful. I used to always end my combos with j.BC -> j.BC because that was the only good way to do Justice Phorizer after Strike Fall, but now it seems like almost anything that ends with Strike Fall works now.
  19. Izayoi's new Gain Art dashes are kinda hard to get the hang of. I keep IAD'ing and expecting to jump over my opponent like before. But that seems really legit for mix-up though, since you can do a bunch of overheads/cross-ups in a row rather quickly now. So the Strike Fall recovery definitely seems shorter somehow since I can do Justice Phorizer pretty easily in places I couldn't do it before, but I haven't been able to catch anyone with 5C afterwards though. It seems like you still have to Strike Fall them from the top of the screen to do that, even though it's only 3 frames slower than 5A and Justice Phorizer. Maybe only certain moves are faster now?
  20. I know right? Izayoi is so jealous of Kokonoe's teleport with its frame 1 invulnerability. Izayoi gets countered if she tries to teleport while blocking. I'll play around with it some tomorrow after the patch goes live (Yay! ), but from the Izayoi footage I've seen, it seems like it does change her play-style quite a bit. Since you can do 2 double jumps now and have the angled airdash, it looks like it dramatically changes the way she can control space now, as well as giving her more options for setups and mixups. So yeah, that's definitely a huge change IMO. The general mobility buff is a nice bonus too since it makes her harder to trap in the corner.
  21. Greetings everyone. Does anyone know if there's a way to keep more than 100 match replays, or to copy them onto another hard drive? Now that the patch is ready and I'll be playing a lot more, I'll probably have a bunch of cool matches I'll want to save.

  24. I do hope the BBCP 1.1 patch will be released soon so that we can start practicing with it. I haven't even been playing that much recently since Izayoi has so many changes in it anyway. I guess it's not quite "mid-May" yet though.
  25. Why do Terumi players even spam 6C? Isn't 6C super unsafe, like -12 or something? I know some people do Rapid Cancels for mix-up, but otherwise you'd think all the free punishes would disincentivize people from doing that.
