  1. Saturday the 12th of December at A&C games in Toronto, the Toronto EXVS community will be hosting a 2v2 tourney! The tournament format is Double Elimination with a winners and losers bracket. Matches are best 2 out of 3 in both brackets with the exception of the winners finals, which are best 3 out of 5. The losing team of a match may change suits before the next one. In addition to the 5 dollar venue fee charged by A&C per player, the registration cost for this tourney will be 5 dollars per team (or 2.50 a person). In combination with an initial 20$ prize pot that I will contribute, the pot for the tourney will be 60 dollars if at least 8 teams sign up. It is unlikely the tournament will proceed with less than 8 teams, though we should have no issue meeting and surpassing that figure. The initial bracket will be posted prior to the start of the tournament. “Bring your own pad or stick” is the policy. Sticks however can be rented from the venue for a fee. As always, if you are able to bring your setup and a copy of the game, please do so. We will have setups running default pad, default stick, and custom stick, and custom pad configurations. Currently, a suit banlist is not being considered for implementation. However, If there is an overwhelming outcry to have certain suits banned, I will definitely respect the wishes of the players. Suits on the prospective banlist include: FAUC, Norn, TG2, Sandrock, Blitz, Re-GZ If you would like to enter, please contact the organizer (myself) with the names of your team members, PSN ID (if applicable), and your team name. You can contact me on PSN (LinksJP), skype (banana.links), or simply post in the relevant thread on gamefaqs, dustloop, or the team ABC facebook group. Direct any questions you have to these places as well. As this is intended to be a local event, netplayers (even those with blue bar) will unfortunately not be permitted to register. This restriction will likely lift in the future. Good luck and see you there!
  2. Sixty one percent win. Mistakes have been made
  3. 0_0 Try really knows a lot. You could publish a book on epyon. Even though I disdain melee/don't understand epyon fundamentally, I feel like even I learned a lot. Speaking as EX-S main what he said about that matchup is spot on. Im monitoring this thread taking notes from trys wisdom
  4. Hahahah. Good Video. Thank you for making/posting these :D
  5. Ah, thanks for translating guys. Not sure how I feel about unicorn getting buffs but the GP03 buffs are hype
  6. Thats the only way I know of to do it, but im a moron so take what I say with a grain of salt.
  7. Hahahahahahaha. Is this actually true? People bean each other with chairs in HK arcades when people refuse to 1v1? NA has some salty people (myself included) but that really takes the cake. Arcade culture is a wonderful thing
  8. Based ojama. Requesting tests and information on Brave. Age-2, enhanced ZZ. Also, make sure not to get squashed too hard. your representing the nation here
  9. Id just like to point out that he made no mention of Canada here. Canada CONFIRMED to be on the same pedestal as HK/JP. Ladies and Gentlemen, please rise and remove your hats for the singing of our national anthem. What a great day for canucks from vancouver to montreal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwDvF0NtgdU
  10. The changes to the nuke and assist tracking are excellent, but what really pushes this thing over the top for me is the addition of super armor frames on your melee attacks. If this thing gets close to you, you WILL take 300 damage. 680 HP also gives our nuclear friend great bulk for a 2500. This thing has all the tools to be played strictly as a melee rushdown suit, but also presents a sizable threat from midrange with its good assists and SHIZUME. great suit imo, this thing should be the bread and butter of melee oriented players
  11. L1 button is the communication button by default. Hitting L1+a direction on the dpad/stick allows you to send different messages. By default of course the messages are all in japanese, but just tapping L1 at the start is a respectful gesture towards your partner. You can also customize your messages and make ones in english, if you need to say specific things like front, back, watch out, etc.
  12. I borrowed a stick from my buddy (whose a street fighter player) for about a week. Doing charge shots felt a lot easier/more natural, but I kinda prefer the pad because im so used to it. However, tallgeese benefits a lot from using a stick. I dont even try to play it on a pad anymore after trying it with a stick.
  13. great post. nice to have this information readily available to everyone.
  14. Without seeing your replays, I can offer atleast this one piece of solid advice: if you are a new/learning player, you want to steer away from epyon. Epyon in FB is very much like what exia and dragon gundam were in the first game, in that new players seem to really want to play them, which is unforunate because the suits are not at all conducive to building solid gameplay fundamentals and more often than not will result in the new player rushing recklessly into melee and dying three times. RX, Sinanju, X1, and WZ are all good suits to sharpen your teeth with and really master the basics of the game. Once you've got them down pat, you can springboard into stuff with a steeper and much more punishing learning curve like epyon. I think the biggest mistake you can make when your starting out is falling into the "im gunna pick melee oriented suits" pitfall, since your midrange harassment/punish game will suffer and new players dont tend to be particularly adept at melee anyway. Anyway, you seem to be on the right track. Keep practicing at midrange with your beamrifle, work on landing punishes, melee defense will come naturally as you become more accustomed to the game and dont boost as haphazardly. Midrange suit+practice will get you good in no time.
