I-No is a knockdown/setplay character right? A lot of her mixups involve getting the opponent to respect you and be afraid to press buttons, except online that plan doesn't work. Nearly every online player loves to mash buttons, even on wakeup. Like, WHY would you press on a button on wakeup??? Shouldn't you be afraid of getting counterhit? If I punish you for mashing buttons, WHY do you continue to mash buttons??? Did you not learn your lesson the first 8 times??? These players totally screw up my gameplan with I-No, and I just end up switching to Leo and bodying them with his better normals that out prioritize their mashing. How do you I-No vets deal with these types of players?

I'm no expert at this game, and I'm learning everything just like you, but what I do for neutral is pester my opponent with HCL from almost fullscreen and antidepressant scale. Great zoning tools imo. The scale is also good for approaching in most cases.

I rarely experience lag while playing sf4. Why do arcsys fans always randomly bring capcom games into discussions outta the blue? This game's netcode isn't great.

Anyone else dealing with this besides me, or am I just crazy? I played about 30 matches over the past hour or so against an Elphelt player, and I could literally see the delay of my button presses. Everything came out at least half a second to a second after I pressed a button, making the matches unplayable. I couldn't punish anything the Elphelt was doing, I couldn't react to anything, couldn't IAD when I needed to, couldn't combo most of the time, but the Elphelt was hitting everything, and doing so much random stuff that looked extremely punishable, but because of the delay I was unable to punish in time. I also had a similar experience against a Ky player earlier today. He could do everything, hit combos, overheads, etc, I couldn't anything due to delay. Has this been other people's experience online? I've heard that the netcode wasn't that good, but I didn't think it was this bad. This KOF13 level input delay.

If you play Orie, then you are a bully. She needs to die. Don't pay me any mind. I'm chock full of salt atm :D

I just picked up Linne myself, and I'm having a little trouble with her neutral game. I just throw fireballs and dash in lol, which is probably totally wrong. -
Will Bullet finally be viable in 2.0?

Haven't played this game in a few months, and after booting it up today it showed messages, all completely in japanese of course. I saw the word psn in there a couple times. Was there a patch or something for the game? I think it said 1.06 or something like that.

Anyone know where to find the UNIEL ost?
illness690 replied to illness690's topic in Under Night In Birth
Of course I mean buy it. This soundtrack is too good to pirate. I want to add it to my collection. Thanks for the link. -
I really dig the music in this game and I'd love to have the ost on my phone.

So that's why I keep getting grim reaper instead of rekkas after the OTG slide. Gonna take some practice, but I'll get this method down.

After taking all you guys advice and hitting the lab I've been winning more matches and steadily leveling up my Gordeau. I'm starting to discover things that my opponents have been getting away with on me that are unsafe or I just figured out how to block them. It's fun exposing people using the same unsafe tactics on me that I didn't know how to deal with before :D Thanks again for all the advice.

Thanks for the advice guys. Hitting the lab as we speak.

My problem is that I don't know when my opponent's offense ends. After playing a long set with a Byakuya earlier today I had to find out through trial and error the unsafe stuff he was doing, and that was after like 20 losses. Once I figured him I started winning, but it's just frustrating when you know your opponent has gotta be doing SOMETHING unsafe but you have no idea what because everything they do seems safe, because if you try to press anything you get. I'm used to playing Mitsuru in P4A where your opponent has to respect your pokes, in USF4 I play Rose and Chun, and I make my opponent respect their pokes as well. I like playing characters that allow me to make my opponent respect me. I guess this game isn't like that. Just gotta hold the blockstrings and wait till it's your turn. Gonna have to really change my fighting game mentality for this game.

Maybe it's because there's no frame data, or maybe it's because I don't know any matchups yet, but it seems like everyone I play against can just dash up and mash buttons and I can't do anything to challenge that. I play Gordeau btw, for now at least. If I get knocked down, even when I get up and my opponent isn't up close if they dash forward they always beat my buttons. Idk if it's because Gordeau's normals are terrible, or if I'm just not playing the game correctly. In the neutral I've had several players, Linnes, Byakuyas, Nanases, Akatsukis, etc all randomly dash up and press buttons, and even if I press something before my opponent's normal comes out I get beat. Are you supposed to just sit there and block everything and let your opponent just do all their offensive bullshit till you get a chance to breathe? Can Gordeau do anything vs buttonmashers like that? Can he combat pressure at all. I feel everyone's just jumping at me and rushing me down for free. Nobody has any respect in this game, they just go in at full throttle and press buttons until they get a hit for that bnb. I try 5C to fish for a confirm but that rarely works, I try Gordeau's dp but it gets stuffed every time, and I've tried 2C to anti air but it gets stuffed too. I'm probably playing this game totally wrong, but if I need someone to tell me what I'm doing wrong so I can see what I'm doing. Besides a basic grasp of the game's system and a few bnbs I don't know anything about this game, and there's hardly any info out there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm generally decent at every fighter I play and this the first fighter where I feel like a complete noob.

That's how I am in USF4, Marvel, P4A, Tekken, and it's probably how I'll end up in this game once I learn it. Profound sadness.
-
Psn illness690. I've sort of got my bnbs down, but I still don't know anything about the system mechanics. Add me, gonna be on in about thirty minutes.

Added all of you.

What can Gordeau do vs Linne? It's hard to keep her off of me.
-
It just depends on your opponent. In my 2 days of experience with the game I've faced 2 bar ppl that felt fine, but that there's huge random lag spikes that nearly slows things down to a standstill, and my buttons come out a whole second or two after I press. I've played Arturo Sanchez a few times and it was mostly fine with a few small lag spikes here and there, maybe because I'm in Houston and he's in New York.

Looking for beginners like myself that just got the game to spar and learn stuff with. Psn is illness690. Add me for matches.
-
What's funny to me is how no matter how bad the lag is my opponent can always hit their combos, and continue playing as if it was 4 bars.
