It's been too long since posting here on DL (I'm on Discord a lot these days). I like all the stuff I typically look for in a fighting game: a fun cast, story, art, music, gameplay, and game content. No Eng VO will be a bit different for CF (as someone who started w/CT), but I've played a number of other fighters without Eng VOs over the years. Looking forward to CF, if not on 11/1, then hopefully 12/25!

Thanks for hosting this. I'm familiar w/a few US & Japanese players from watching some tournaments (like the ones that use the same main/subs as me). Getting the essence of the player into the character sounds like an interesting challenge. My Wacom tablet of 8 years died recently, but I can still scan a drawing & use the mouse. Hope to enter!

I wish they'd release their OSTs on iTunes. There's some tracks from BBCPE & P4AU I'd really like to own. I've got Gale from CT & the P4A CD, but I guess they have a reason for not selling more music on iTunes. I've got some BBCPE & P4AU tracks in my YouTube playlist though for workday listening

Watched the matchup on YouTube, but have no new insights on how to win. Maybe other people don't play vs. Celica or have no problems in the matchup. No rush or worries; just mildly curious.

Welcome to DL. Enjoy the game! Here's a list of people on dustloop who (theoretically) play (check out the far right column for european players): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1tJ238St1TyyDMWBFHJS1oAd--uqEe4WosceSGA5dQQg/edit?pli=1#gid=685258079 Hopefully someone responds if you send them a message! (Didn't go too well for me looking for w.coast US players, but it's cool).

Ran out of graphite for my good pencil. so Yukari & the extra Labrys aren't as good. Not sure if these were worth posting, but my BB gameplay posts aren't generating much discussion either. It's cool though, maybe someone likes them. It was nice to pass the time on the train drawing these.

OK, I'm pretty new, but have faced a few Celicas. I guess you block the first two hits of the drive low, then the third is high. I've done Celica's character tutorials, but am not very familiar w/her since she's new to this game. I'm even more curious as to what to do vs. Bullet. There's no topic to post in. Should I make one? I've done Bullet's character tutorials & gone through arcade w/her, but don't know how to fight her in vs. I've never beaten one, I think. Thanks for any tips!

Just a few more to go. Wish I could see the whole character to have all art from head to toe, but will settle for this. Enjoy!

Do you prefer the English or Japanese voices?
indie_animator replied to Grimsley-San's topic in Zepp Museum
I love the Japanese language & even took a semester in college, but for the sake of wanting to understand everything I go with English. -
Guess all these years there was never a P4A fanart topic; maybe because it's a spinoff from an existing game series. I finished drawing the cast from Xrd instruction book, and the cast is absent from the BBCPE instructions, so I moved on to P4AU instructions art. I drew these on the weekend BART train commute, then punched up the contrast since the lines scanned too light. More on the way I hope!

Searched matchups for Tager, but didn't see much. I'm new to the game (maybe I'm not the only one?) & have yet to play vs. at least half the cast. I watch videos of matchups on YouTube, but was curious about what people here have found useful. Never beat a Celica as an example. I guess if interest is shown, a character/forum expert posts matchup links. I'm not sure how to do it. Edit: Sat. I fought Arakune for the first time. Didn't go so well. I did Arakune's tutorial, but wasn't sure what to do on defense. Watched a YT vid of the matchup today. Thanks for any responses.

I've been wanting to go to a local for a few years, but without a car, have never been able to get to San Carlos. I once set up a casual at the MADE in downtown Oakland for Skullgirls (two people showed, but hey). They might be willing to host GG/BB/P4AU if anyone's interested. Just thought I'd see if anyone else wishes there was a scene (Saturdays?) in San Francisco, Oakland, or another major city. A link to the MADE: https://themade.org/

Those are perfect, thanks. I like to keep things simple especially when new to something & don't like dropping combos. I'll spend some time training in wolf form using stuff from the guide as well.

It's a really good guide. I'm new to the game & have tried him a bit in vs. after using him in training for a few weekends. How long did it take people to use him well in vs.? I often avoid wolf form because it's difficult for me, but know it's important for him. Either this guy or Kagura will be my 2nd sub. Went through lots of combos in his section, but are there simple ones that end in a DD? I tend to do them raw because I'm not sure how to combo them in.

BBCP Extend (US) Training Lobby (PS4)
indie_animator replied to Pyrex HD's topic in BlazBlue Online Play
Good, Fri. can work for me. Not sure if anyone else is w.coast; hopefully the connection will be OK. I'll try to get in on time (I've got a long commute). You go an hour or so? I've been playing vs. the last few weekends, and didn't have CP. The beginner group for P4AU was helpful when I was starting out there. Oh, I don't have a mic. I guess you'll send the invites. Thanks! -
Yeah, that info's great, thanks. Good to get one of these filled in with some info. I watched a bit of the matchup on YouTube using a search there, so that's taken care of. Now to try that training you mentioned & play the game! Edit: I can't figure out how to play back a recording in training. I'll wait til someone responds to the post I have have in BB Questions topic & do other stuff in the meantime.

I skipped CP, and got this game a month ago. Just started vs. last weekend, but didn't get bodied by veterans too much. Had been studying topics & videos here for months, trained for weeks, and played vs. w/white squares up to l.green. The game is new & fun to me. I've been going through all the modes & have been sending out invites to people in the BB Player List in my region. Hope to improve some more this weekend.
-
I don't have Skype, but am also a beginner (just tried vs. for my first time last weekend). Check out the character subforums for more combos if you want so you can combo off a throw, anti-air, etc. I've been reading topics here & watching videos for many months. And been practicing combos for weeks (on weekends). But haven't done much vs., so I can send you a player room invite, or invite me if you want. Unless you get Skype stuff going before Sat/Sun.

Any tips on using Tager vs. Az? I'm new to the game, but had a tough time with him. Then again, I haven't even fought half of the cast in vs. yet. I'll search on YouTube on the meantime. Wasn't sure what to do at the Japanese site or w/frame data. (Thanks for the link, though). I'd like to rad up on other matchups, but am not sure if any have posts when using the directory.

I've been wanting to get to more fighting game meetups for years, and managed to get to the MADE in Oakland a few times. Learned of Santa Rosa meetups a few years ago, but w/o a car I need to get there (and especially back). If work has a breakthrough, I might be able to do all the buses, BART, and taxis needed to make it. Til then, there online on weekends. Milpitas is close to Fremont- I should send a Xrd invite if you play...

OK, got it, thanks. Almost every other motion in the game flows well for me, including Venom's ODs, etc. I'll give it a shot next chance I get.

Hey, an animator's guide to health/stretches. Good post. I've been doing those for 20 years for animation & games (though less often). I'm 41 & am thankful not to have any repetitive stress injuries. Had a prob w/the right thumb from animating long ago, but eventually recovered. Only thing messing w/my focus is chronic nerve pain in the palate (3 years). Can't wait to finally get that treated (if it can be) to see if my gameplay improves a bit. Watch out for random injuries, especially concussions. Two years of head pain was a low point in life, including gaming. All that's left is the nerve pain...
