  1. Oh, yeah. Sorry about that. I accidentally did that. I agree, some of the music, like Junes & Mitsuo Rec are completely wrong for a fighting game. Labrys & Teddie themes are "off" imo as well. Probably some others too... I forgot which ones. But I figured out jA jB jA in Training. Just needed to hit the buttons quicker. I hosted a room a few times over the weekend for random people & renamed it Beginner fun. Some people weren't beginners, but it was pretty fun.
  2. Thanks for letting me in for my 2nd time now. Sorry about the Yukiko stage pick (got me kicked, I think). I thought it was one of the two that was OK. I'll just do Mits stage from now on. I improved a bit from last time & had some close fights, but still have a long ways to go to reach the high-level beginners, like the Yukari player. Spent some time in Training to practice combos beforehand, but didn't connect many. Need to figure out how Teddie's jA, jB, jA works (no clue). No more Kanji subbing (though I'm decent w/Capcom grapplers). I should try out more of the cast (DLC & P3) to figure out my best characters.
  3. Work week's done, and I'm ready for this game. I don't have a mic, have read a ton of topics & watched many vids, but only have a few days of experience. W. coast US wired connection. Feel free to send an invite if you're OK with me joining again. Thanks
  4. It'd be so much simpler if the intros were non-skippable for online play. Even if someone's seen them a lot of times, all it takes is a little patience. Plus, they're cool. Instead I have to politely request it by typing it out each time I play online (lobby, hosted room, etc.) unless I'm playing in the DL Beginner room, where people know that's the rule.
  5. I still have to try the P3 cast, DLC trio & all shadows in this game. (Can only play weekends) But so far, Teddie is my fav due to having the most success with him & liking the character/playstyle. Kanji might have some potential. Not sure on Chie/Labrys. This weekend I should have more time to try everyone & decide.
  6. GGs on 10/31. First time joining the room, so thanks to MM for the invite. I'm brand new to the game (still going through P4 Story in fact), and hadn't played P4A in a long time, so it showed. Thanks to Will: sent me a lot of good Teddie info. Have yet to try any DLC, P3 or shadow characters. I can only play weekends, which is a pain. Only other 2D fighter I've played this year has been Skullgirls, so it's a big adjustment: no pushblock, no Big Band (my main) XD Hope to hit Training before joining again next Fri. During the week I can only read here & at GameFAQs & watch vids. Patience...
  7. Glad you guys had a good time. Something came up & I can't get to a Ps3 this weekend. Those rules are interesting; makes sense. Spirited Girl is Labyrs theme. If you pick her, can the theme be switched? How do you all meet on Fridays? TV World Beginner lobby? Or are invites sent out for a player room?
  8. Yeah, I'm deciding whether to main him as well. I tend to like oddballs & grapplers in fighting games, but can't do long combos very well (though I've managed to in Skullgirls w/Big Band a bit). I'm brand new to the game, and haven't played P4A in ages. I'd like to try the whole cast & keep him in mind. Nihil Hand is so odd- it's like a cinematic QTE that really tweaks the flow of a match. XD
  9. Finally got P4AU over the weekend. Did some Story, combo challenges, tutorial, an easy score attack & online. I'm trying to get all the mechanics down, and haven't played P4A in a long time, so I'm a beginner. W. coast US. Trying to decide on a main, and like Teddie, Labyrs & Kanji the most so far. The only other 2D fighting game I've played this year has been Skullgirls Encore. I can only play on weekends, so this is a bit early. Can't wait til Fri.
  10. I got a response from the Fri. Fight Night in Oakland. They have BB:CP now! This means people from here w/o a car can meet taking BART. Fri. 4PM-12. I'll try to drop by this Fri. Feel free to show up. https://www.facebook.com/events/413157882160215/?ref=5
  11. New to the forum, but a longtime FG player. I went to a video game museum(!) in downtown Oakland that has a FG event every Fri. 4-11 PM. I played DOA5U, but would really enjoy playing people from here in BBCP and/or P4A. http://themade.org/posts/168 Might be a good central location & accessible by BART for those w/o a car.
  12. Wish I'd joined the forum years ago, but I can play weekends. Wired connection. Not an expert, but been playing FGs since SFII. Looking forward to P4U!
