I've mostly been doing single player content for the past few weekends I've had the game, but where do beginners go for matches online? Tried contacting beginners on weekends in the Newbies Unite topic & played vs. a PSN friend there. But most people don't respond. Also, how do you find matches in lobby? I go to my region, then end up in a castle room w/odd icons & doors. Then I can't find a match there. So different than P4AU where you move around to arcade cabinets or player rooms where I understand the menus. Whenever I click on a door in Xrd, nothing seems to happen. Do beginners go to ranked? Thanks!

Thanks for all the info here. I've read a lot of info in the Venom section, including this topic, and wrote down a handful of combos. I'm wondering if Overdrives can or be comboed into or used raw? Or just not used for keeping meter for other things? Thanks.

Thanks for the tip & taking time to play. Yeah, you were only the second person I've played in online vs., and I still have try get a feel for six more characters in arcade I haven't tried yet. Also want to unlock Sin & buy Leo next weekend. Usually I wouldn't switch characters so much in a fighting game, but now I'm narrowing down who works best for me. Usually I like grapplers, but the strict inputs on Pote make using him a chore for me. I'll consider May as well, but Venom may be my fav. Time to check some subforums.

I find the castle lobby with the odd-looking icon confusing (I need to use a menu to move, I think). Do other people do well with it? Anyway, I'd like to join beginners on weekends. Maybe I can avoid that odd lobby. 0.0

HMMixer had a room going today that I wished I had time to drop in on. I finished the tutorial, and the first 15 or so challenges for each character (they start to get rough after 20 for me). Did Missions up to #8. A lot of ones after that seemed really hard. Have yet to do arcade. I can only play weekends, but hope to play vs. someone on DL for the first time. So far I've just practiced with a friend a bit. Getting used to the inputs & figuring out how/when/if to use RCs.

No prob, I had a lot of matches in Junes & hosted a room yesterday. I can help to host a DL room. I don't have a mic, though. Maybe it could be a mic-free room, w/short comments between matches. I'm w.coast U.S., and could handle that region if it helps get everyone a decent connection. Thanks for the invite, Mixed. Sorry I had to go after my set. I have to visit my brother on weekends to do PS3, and am rusty on Fri., and he needed me off the PS3 that night.

Just got the game for Christmas and had time for some tutorials & Story. Last GG I played was X2 on PS2 long ago. PSN & region are on the left, and I can play weekends. Feel free to invite/add me. Once I get some challenges/arcade/training, etc. I'll try inviting people.

I got SGE in May or so when it free on PS+ & have really enjoyed it since. Skullheart's been a good community for doing fanart (trying to win the 86ed contest) & finding some friends for matches. I main BB, Pea, Fukua, and sub Fortune. If anyone here wants to play SG or Ultimax on a weekend, let me know.

You're a really tough newbie! 0.0 Also played a lot of random people in rooms, TV World & ranked. I'm d. blue & E now, for what it's worth. Better defense, slow improvement w/Ted, not so much w/Labrys & Ken. Must stop using Chie & Kanji. Possible Junpei next weekend & deciding on whether to stick w/Ken & Labrys.

Beginner here, maining Teddie, but really enjoy this character & playstyle. Definite co-main/sub. Been writing down combos, & can hit the 214 B (love this move) into 236 x2 C/D. About the other supers, is there a good way/time to use them? Maybe 22 A/B/C/D is needed at some point... 236 A/B could be good as well... Anything else a beginner should know? I know some matchups are an uphill battle. And B/2B sometimes have a weird delay that messes me up. 0.0 Thanks!

Ah, technical difficulties. Maybe that's why I didn't get into the room. I hosted a beginner's room a few times this weekend. I change the title of the room to rookie training or beginners so people can tell. So if I need to leave, I can't make someone else the host (like DOA5U)? Seems like the whole room vanishes if I go, which must be a pain for everyone. 0.0 Slowly improving defense. Got a few wins with Teddie. One w/Chie (maybe I should sub her- enjoy the character & playstyle). Trying to block those AoAs... Need to learn combos (I have a lot written down, but can't do them too well). I have a much easier time w/Skullgirls combos for some reason. I go to the TV World lobby sometimes. Now have a dark blue color card. Hope to join in next weekend.
