Funny thing is, if they get predictable with it, you can abuse online play and air grab her out of it. Pretty hilarious to pull off.....

BlazBlue Question Thread - Ask your questions here!
StylisH replied to KayEff's topic in BlazBlue Gameplay
I'm simply speaking from a vantage point of having limited defensive options, because for the most part I play aggressive offensive characters. I will agree, however, that reversals/escapes aren't a bad idea to have on hand, but be wary of using them. It's sort of a chess match: you score a knockdown in the corner, I have a DP/Zanshinn etc. Most of the time it's better to have you wary of the tool as opposed to frequently using it. The risk you run off of eating a 4-5k Fatal combo is usually enough for me to escape due to your more passive gameplay, and when you get comfortable in your oki pressure, it makes having that option much better for me.... -

Blocking is your safest bet. Most players get blown up because they constantly feel the need to immediately reversal or escape oki, which is exactly what the attacker is expecting... -
Exactly. I was referring to using the same strings over and over again. Platinum is another one.....

Litchi, Makoto, Relius......
-
Her combos aren't really that difficult. You want lengthy and execution heavy? There's always Litchi, of course people will hate you afterwards.... What you want to do is memorize all your starters and enders for your combos, and the rest should be easy after that. Well, that and depending on what items you get....
-
You should pick based off of your play style however. I like heavy execution vortex type characters (Valk/I-NO) with good oki and corner lockdown (Izayoi in GA/Dizzy) There are all sorts of factors you could have when choosing a main character. I never knew how much I liked ok mind games until I played GG for the 1st time, and now that's big on how I choose. Experiment and find your style.....

Tsubaki is not bad. It's just that damn hat.
-
I have given a name to my pain, and it is Litchi (Bonus points to those who get the movie reference)
-
My opinion is completely biased, but go with Valk and Izayoi
-
As long as people continue to buy it, they will make sequels.
-
Tao mirrors are fun as hell to watch IMO
-
Don't feel too bad. I get 360 mashed more than I care to admit sometimes
-
Honestly, that is probably the one match I haven't played. I'll probably fight 80 Arakunes before I fight another Izayoi.....as Valk The redheads never get any love.....
-
It's pretty sad when you think about it. Then they believe you're trolling when in fact one of the basic rules of FGs is "if you they don't adapt, keep doing it"

This match up gives me migraines.......

Meter management comes with experience plus character playstyle. Using BB as a reference, Rachel would use 50 heat in combos (Baden Baden Lily) or to buy time to restock wind (Tempest Dahlia or however it's spelled). Ragna would use meter more for RCs than anything else (or a reversal Blood Kain) and would only use meter to finish off an opponent (Carnage Scissors).
-
A question, is BB your 1st fighting game? Out of curiousity

Damage scaling can seem a complicated process, but IMO it all boils down to what normal/special you begin your combo with. In Street Fighter, starting a combo with a Ryu crouching jab will not lead to as much damage as say standing toward fierce (or 6 fierce LOL) It's the same with Blazblue. Beginning a combo with Ragna 2a won't net you anywhere near the damage say a 5b or 5c will. At least that's the way I look at it. I'm sure the process is much more complex than that, but that's a universal starting point....

Hm, maybe I'm playing bad Noels? I usually just bait mash and punish....... Inferno Divider! (whiff) FATAL! 5.5k......neutral tech.....Inferno Divider! (whiff) FATAL!......

How so? Maybe I'm missing something......

That 886 from w5B is awesome to know. Thanks a bunch

Strangely enough, mics don't bother me that much. I usually just mute people anyway

When you start off with any new character, always start with normals. Pokes, anti-airs, overheads, lows etc. I would also suggest you familiarize yourself with wolf form/movement as well. Get comfortable with transforming back and forth. Most people get hung up on combos, but it's always better to start from the bottom up.
