Just cause the opponents hitbox is standing, it doesn't mean they're still blocking. This is because j.b, jc, j.b still has a small gap, so if someone stops blocking it they'll get hit. Fuzzy guards work often because of how standing and crouching is programmed. From my knowledge, if someone blocks high and then blocks low, for a few frames your person will still have a standing frame allowing for certain strings to work in conditions they normally wouldn't. If you do a max range 2a poke, the most you could do is 2a, 6b, 3cd, filler or you could delay a j.3ad, b, combo if you're confident in your timing.. i'm pretty sure 2a, 5b, whiffs on a lot of characters at max range, Jin being one of them.

5d is -9 on normal block and -4 if he dash cancels. 2d is +3 so if you IB its neutral and you can find a way to get out or do something else. Every move you mentioned is pretty punishable, you just need to take advantage of your defensive options, like IB, Barrier IB, and what not . Ice car is pretty punishable, you can dash 5a it for a pretty solid punish and if he does the second hit, its' easier to punish.

So sorry to derail the discussion, but got a question about RC time slow in XRD. Does the slow down delay when your inputs are registered, like say Millia does the backdash yrc j.k overhead, once you see the freeze, can you instantly block it or does it slow down when your character stands up to block it even if you instantly hold back after you see the freeze? Just curious. -

Well 6a floats a lot on air hit, so you have more time than you think for the 236a to hit, even if you cancel it later. Off a air hit like j.b, j.c, assuming you have all your options, I usually just do j.b, j.c, 2d, jc, j.c, j2c, 6a, 4b, 5cc; this was also the combo I used when i first started confirming air hits. But that's not max damage. There's a bunch of options off an air hit, j.b, j.c, jc, j.c, j.236a with no wind for example, but gotta be wary of how high they are in the air. j.c counter hit on the other hand, is the most godly air starter i can think of. You have like 5 seconds to land, jump confirm, and start your air combo stuff like, j.c ch, land, j.c, j.2d, jc, j.c, j.2d, 6a, 4b, 5cc or whatever better combo you have. Of of 6a ch, you can go into: 1. 5b, j.c, j.2d, jc, j.c, j.2d, 6a, 4b, 5cc. 2.5b, j.c, j.2d, 5b, 6a, 236a, 3c, 214c, 6a, 4b, 5cc (character specific) 3. 5b, 6a, 236a, 3c, 214c, 6a, 4b, 6cc (character specific, and also height dependant) So microdashing, as far as I know, is just inputing a dash and cancelling it early into a normal. Since if you dash and don't cancel it, the dash will go a fixed distance, so microdashing is just using the forward momentum of the dash, but cancelling it before the dash ends naturally. If the 3c is whiffing, you're either doing it to late, or the character is just funky. I've had a lot of situations where I would try and microdash 3c combo Taokaka and either 3c wouldn't hit, or 214c would whiff. -

For this combo: 5bd > 6a > 66 > 5b. I usually just buffer the dash into the move so that just as 6A ends, the last 6 in 66 comes out. For this combo: 5b 5c iris dash 5b 6a 236a 5b(optional can be skipped) 6a 4b 5cc. Just do the 236A later. 6A can be cancelled pretty late, so try late cancelling it so that the combo doesn't whiff. Also test the combo on different characters cause some characters may have some variations, or make it harder to hit combos on like Bang, or Taokaka for example. -
Yup. Pretty crazy considering how long the game is out and no one bothered trying that, at least in all the videos I've seen. It's seems pretty crazy as it is.

5A into astral is kind of hard to do on the fly, it's definitely possible, but why do 5a Astral, when you can do 5a, 5b, 5c, astral. Gotta be safe

Question, what are people's opinion on this matchup now? To me if feels like it's definitely in Rachel's favor for the most part but maybe that's just the online environment and what not.

Ignoring the fact that her IOH opens her mixup game immensely. IOH combos do no damage, but they force people to actually block high at close range, or eat oki in the corner. Once someone gets hit by the IOH they have to think about blocking it which lets you do her better combo starters like 2B. Or, if you just do j.a2d,b all the time, that also opens the jb, a, c, fuzzy. The IOH is godlike cause it makes so you can't just block Rachel all day, you have to actually try and escape and apply your own pressure other wise you have to eat legit 50/50's at least 4 times maximum. If you remove the IOH, the only way Rachel could get significant damage is through punishes and what not, and coming from a KoF background, I don't honestly see how anyone gets opened up w/o her IOH. Her pressure has huge gaps in it where anyone with a good invincible move can escape easily, 4B is horrible and the safest thing you can chain into is sword iris which has to be out already, and her mid range is weak.

Idk how anyone would get opened up by Rachel if she didn't have the IO.

Ps4 devices are backwards compatible with Ps3, just Ps3 devices aren't compatible with Ps4
