  1. Didn't want to start a thread just for this one question: Who's going to EVO? I'll be there pool I135. I have a by the first round but I don't know anyone else in my pool. It would be cool to watch some other Sins as well.
  2. I was hoping to find some inspiration on this match up... its just tough I think. Depends on the other players play style and how it matches up to yours I think. I never had any real trouble with faust but I dont do well against turtles. Played a faust that likes keep away and only came close when he got a good item. Every match was tough, what I did learn was to stay out of the air, with all of his crazy anti air options I was better off using meter for mobility options. YRC I think is key, using YRC 236k for an easy CH then follow up as well as hop YRC dash to close the gap and get in extremely fast.
  3. NOB(Sol) vs Kabegiwa no DC(Sin) < in this match, Kabegiwa was loosing the second round and almost had his burst guage back and I was thinking to myself, well atleast you have a fresh guage for the final round and then BURST....
  4. That Gaku though... He's usually better than that. I wonder if any of these Sin's will be at EVO
  5. How will latency be resolved? Just worried about east coast players like me playing west coast and getting 10F latency... Will people be booted if they have crap internet? (they should be)
  6. I have been practicing this and looking at video and I have found a few things that help. Its really only consistent after a 236k up close. After first hit, delay second hit as long as possible (I watch for sin to place hand over face), then 3rd hit as soon as it will catch them falling, you want this to come out as soon as possible. This will get them high enough that when you recover you can catch them with a 2p. I think its just another tool to use when calories are an issue but if you land a CH after 236k I think there are better options than this. I hope that helped. oh and what Zephyrion said about weight of characters is important too.
  7. This was news to me, but incase you didn't catch it http://shoryuken.com/2015/06/24/proximity-guard-option-selects-appear-in-guilty-gear-xrd-sign/ Its talking about an option select that gives you either a special move or block depending on how the opponent reacts. I don't know if i'll be able to use it but if you could, it could save a lot of calories. Think about the effect of only throwing out specials that were going to hit for sure, but if they blocked, you just went into FD and could switch to a different attack almost immediately.
  8. Great Video! definitely going to work that into my matches, Really liked the one touch kill at the end too.
  9. I just want to add that the first eat is always 10K calories, regardless if you used 1K or 7K in a combo. If you are going heavy on the block strings with no reward and getting hungry then I can understand conserving calories BUT if you get that first CH and you start moving in for that lengthy Combo. Put it all out there until you reach that last calorie and once you get that hard knock down, eat up and your ready to go. Don't forget that you do need to practice harder combos, and condition yourself to recognize which route is best based on character and situation. When you watch those match Vids and you see those insane hit confirms you think, that's the difference between a mediocre sin and a good sin. Even if the thought is that you can easily get 190 or 200 with 4K versus 240 and spend 9K... once you get the hard knock down at the end and eat, your calories are back where they started and they are 40 health closer to loosing the round. One thing about GG is that its really not over until they are dead comebacks are too real. I know every Sin player here has reached that point in a match where you are jamming HS on "I'm sure I'll hit something!" at the last sliver of life thinking Just a little more!
  10. Couldn't agree more! not everything needs to be extremely practical and throwing in something unexpected in an otherwise well paced fight can break the tempo up. Personally after a block chain I do the same thing I do in SF and after 236k I'll run up and go for a throw. Sounds crazy but it works a lot, people freeze after a block chain and are sometimes slow to react, I know I am. same can be said if a big red electric bird is slowly flying across the screen.
  11. Something that I didn't see in the Wiki which I actually need to practice are RTL combos. I can get the timing down maybe 1 out of 5 attempts. What I think I need to do is after the first hit, I delay as long as possible on the second hit (about when Sin puts his hand on his face), then the third hit comes out as soon as it will hit them while falling, the sooner the better. It seems that third hit, if it hits early, pops them up high enough that when you recover you have enough time to fit in a 2p>5k>5H>6H>236H. I did notice some variations on it though in recent videos online, I saw one after the RTL 2p>623s>214k>j.k>5h>6h>236h. Is anyone really using these combos? if so any tips on the timing or even optimized combos? Seems like a great way to get some extra damage when they are almost dead and you have more meter than calories to burn. Also Thanks to Zeph for the crazy detailed Wiki, I just went through all of the other character Wiki's and no one has as much information as Sin.
  12. Those Sin v Sol matches are godlike. Sin at his best
  13. Venom is another character I have been sleeping on. I never had a problem against him but I realized I just never played a good Venom Player. The big difference is the pool ball placement. The more active they are with the balls the harder it is to maneuver and close the gap. They can change the speed and use them defensively or offensively. It took a few matches but I realized that the best way to win this one is to keep the pressure on and don't let them have space to through balls out there. They can knock them around or teleport and it can get tricky. (lets keep the ball jokes to a minimum)
  14. Just something I want to bring up that I want to remind those new to sin. Calorie management is real. Easy after each combo and don't do too many specials in a block string only to leave yourself hungry. 236k is +2 on block so use it for pressure. And always try to have some bar to cut the eating animation short or to score a hard knock down to eat afterwords. I played a few Sins online and its easy to see who is new and who isn't, mostly dew to calorie management. Sent from my D6616 using Tapatalk
  15. I follow up with 2hs>5hs> etc.. It works out pretty well Sent from my D6616 using Tapatalk
  16. Someone, any one? This is a matchup that has been giving me problems. They seem to want to play keep away with their replay moves and its tourture. I have been trying to punish them for the teleport counter on VD but even though I know what they will do and when they will get there I still can't seem to win that exchange. If anyone has tips I need help with this one.
  17. Can't agree more ^ even in back dashes. His dashes aren't long enough to contend with this even with a cancel but he cant go under then (like Ky or El) so its easier to control space. On his hard knock down mix ups you just have to read your opponent, I have been having good luck with DP because it has a hit box which covers your back as well. I just think sin has weak wakeup options :/ As for his pressure there are certain moves I wait for in their strings that have enough recovery for you to get a poke in. Always after that bison slide kick for example. I also wonder if Sin's DP would beat out pile bunker... timing would be strict but it has 10 frames of invincibility I'm pretty sure.
  18. Maybe its just me but just to touch on having NO food and low on meter. When I close the gap on an opponent its rare that its dependent on special moves, normally my combos start with normals anyway so I still play as aggressive as I would if I did have plenty of food. I just go for a 3 or 4 hit combo ending in 2D>nom nom. I see it as, all I need to do is connect one normal and go into 2D then I can eat. I do sometimes follow what someone else mentioned, I go to eat somewhere random to bait their attack, YRC to counter their over confident attack then after hard knockdown eat. Its not that hard to get a hard knock down without specials.
  19. I'm in the same boat and Yes I'd definitely get in on that. Friend me on PSN and let me know when and if you get others.
  20. ^ Team Sin played really well but that one Sol though...
  21. I purposely follow a pattern of command hops after hard knockdowns and backdash last minute. yrc after they commit to land and get them. Its one of those tricks that works once so leave it for a tight situation. Sometimes players freeze and don't even antiair in which case it really doesn't matter what you do, you'll have the upper hand.
  22. I know just saying "keep trying" doesn't really help but it really is a matter of recognizing where your opponent is. Even if they are standing at max range on f.s its still a bit too far to combo into beak driver. I really dont think there is a right answer on what you should do, or a catch all. i.e. I tend to use command hop a lot to keep pressue on and as a result some Leo and Ky players love to use their anti-air so I will occasionally try to bait an anti-air. Just don't try to have one answer to something that is situational, feel it out.
  23. Since the update this matchup has been more difficult. It used to be an easy win for the most part but now it seems he can move a little better and he can combo more. Its still not the most difficult match up but It seems Slayer received some good buffs in 1.1. Same strategy in playing him I think but somethings that I am not sure are new but I just realized (and im probably late). You cannot burst the second hit of his special moves, there is one in particular Slayer uses to go into air combo, its a punch followed by a kick that raises you in the air, don't burst mid move, he ignored it and still hits you. Similar to Fausts big karate chop.
  24. Let me start by saying great Sin! You had great reactions which led to solid combos, I especially liked the string of Beak Drivers off of the throw around 30:30. I wish I could say you made a lot of mistake but I think the only problems you had were just being caught in the gameplay. Its not as if you didn't optimize most of your combo's or you didn't use a specific move enough. Sure in hindsight you can see a moment where he airdashes at you and maybe a hawkbaker would work better than 6P but when your playing you are just feeling and reacting, there isn't a catch all. I do agree that at sometimes you gave him too much respect, by that I mean you were caught waiting to block something and he punished you for it rather than taking advantage of an opening. Another critique might be to use some of the options people were talking about in the other thread, using his command hops to get you out of sticky situations in the corner rather than just in combos. I think the one thing I have the most trouble with in this game playing sin is getting caught in the corner. So many players depend on that corner game like any Ram or El player especially, being able to get your spacing and play to Sin's strengths, that mid range. You had a few times where you followed mid screen Beak Drivers>wallbounce>214k>6H>5H etc. and that was something I need to do. Personally I don't think there are too many adjustments to your overall gameplay though, just keep playing with that confidence like your up 10 games to 1 and you probably will be. Giggles454 - for some reason I can't get twitch to play your video :/ maybe someone else will have better luck
