  1. Air BR knocks down now, and it has good corner carry. It may give a bit more time for oki than the VV followup.
  2. Hey there. I'm a bit out of the loop as to what's going on in Phoenix, but I know people are often meeting at TGZ on Wednesdays and Fridays for casuals in various games. Not sure how much Blaz is played, though. People are also mostly using Line these days rather than Dustloop. I can invite you to the chat if you have a Line ID.
  3. That may have something to do with the 1.02 patch not being released for PS3 NA digital copies. I haven't got the 1.02 patch and I also don't see that many people; I'm assuming I can't see them because they've got the patch and I don't.
  4. Often times, nothing is posted. But I'll try to remember to post something on here/Line/Facebook when I bring anime fighters.
  5. Hello hakanumi. There's not much going on in Tucson right now for anime fighters, as far as I know. You can try posting in the Tucson fighting game community Facebook page here and seeing if there's any interest: https://www.facebook.com/groups/tucsonfgc/?ref=bookmarks There are regular meetups in Tucson, but it's almost all SF5 and Melee. I used to show up and bring Guilty Gear, and I'll probably start that again soon with Revelator. There used to be some interest in UNIEL, but it's waned over time, and the new version still not having a release date isn't helping. A few people (myself included) have some interest in Melty. I've seen a few people interested in Blaz (e.g. LustrolSeizaki's post above), so it might be possible to get a few people together, but I don't know who's currently playing it. Most of the regular anime fighter meetups are in Phoenix. There's currently a series of bi-weekly Evo-prep tournaments being held. You can find info for the upcoming one here: https://www.facebook.com/events/248200072237824/254221351635696/?notif_t=admin_plan_mall_activity&notif_id=1465279613492507
  6. Sure, that will most likely be fine. Just PM me/hit me up on Line/whatever a few days before the next monthly and I'll let you know if I can drive you.
  7. Ah, damn. I usually end up driving people from Tucson, but I can't this week because I'm already in Phoenix for the holiday. Good luck finding someone.
  8. So, there's been some misinformation about Xrd at Rewired. Xrd is still at Rewired as a side tournament -- nothing has changed. But there's only a few days left for registration (which closes November 1st), so if you haven't signed up yet, please do so soon! I'd love to see a good turnout. The reason it wasn't showing up on the website was because of a problem where a backup copy of the site had to be used, which just happened to not have Xrd on it, and Nick missed it. So, yeah, Xrd is still happening. I hope to see you all there!
  9. GGs everyone! It was fun. I think we managed to get a good turnout, despite the late announcement.
  10. Well, it's not like it's the first time I've done something embarrassing in a fighting game. Speaking of Eltum's 2B battles, here's one of the 2B trade wars: http://www.twitch.tv/rathfgc/v/17913249?t=3h06m20s. I think there are two more in the set.
  11. I just wanted to say that I wholeheartedly approve of this post. Also, for Lizard Wizard Weekend, perhaps we could require people enter with a name suitable to the Lizard Wizard theme? Like, I don't know, Gila-mancer or something. Ok, maybe that's not a very good example, but you get the idea. GGs everyone! Thanks to everyone who helped run it, and congrats to all the winners. The highlight of my Guilty Gear career appears to be doing Dragon Install and running full screen into an already active 5D.
  12. Jam looks nerfed from #Reload. She got a few buffs, but nothing can replace the absurdity of throw FRC with no proration, and her charged kicks got really nerfed. Charged dragon kick in #Reload did 1/4 life raw. That said, she looks fun in this version. I'm curious to see how she turns out. Hello, and welcome! I don't know what's going on in Phoenix these days, but I think going to the monthly would be a good experience. At the very least, you'll get to meet people in the local scene, get some tournament experience, and play some casuals. And I wouldn't worry about being a newbie. Everyone was there at some point, and you need to play to get better. I think everyone understands that.
  13. From talking to Nick yesterday, I think he wanted to know if he could get enough people to warrant dedicating stream time to the game. He was asking me if we could get 20 people, and I told him we've had that many or more before, but that I haven't seen a bunch of them play for a while. I also thought he was going to post here -- maybe he just wants to gauge registration? That may also have to do with the "side game" status. I'm also a bit concerned about not having a tournament organizer yet. I don't recall talking to Nick about it. We talked about setups -- between the people who said they could bring setups and Marvin's extra ASUS monitors, we thought we could get enough. I think he wanted to assure us that we would at least have Xrd since we should be able to bring enough setups, but I wish he had made that post here first to work out the details.
  14. To be fair, French Bread isn't exactly known for an optimal release schedule either. This new DFC is a bit of an exception. P4U 2.0 when??
  15. I talked to Nick. He's receptive to running anime games as side tournaments -- in fact, he seemed to encourage it. He's also receptive to possibly running one or two anime games as main games (assuming we can get him the details within a reasonable amount of time). His main concern is that he wants to make sure any main game has a reliable source of setups and a reliable person to run the game -- he said the reason there are no anime games in the main lineup was because he's not familiar with the anime community and didn't know who to ask. He's also concerned with the possibility of filling up the venue (although I don't think that's too likely unless the Smash turnout is enormous), which limits the number of main games. So, it sounds like we could probably run Xrd as a main game, and possibly one more, and we should be able to run anything else as side tournaments. Nick also said for whoever's running games to contact him so the details can be worked out.
  16. I see Nick regularly (most Thursdays), so I can talk to him about it as well.
  17. There's not really anyone who runs things for anime games in Tucson. Nick (who I believe is at least in part behind the "major") has been receptive to people running anime games at events, but he's certainly not going to do it himself. I'm sorry to say that I'm not surprised that anime games have been left off the roster. I'd like to run something, but my schedule can be pretty hectic, so I unfortunately cannot commit to anything yet.
  18. ReixInari, Loli Bacon, and I used to play UNIEL more frequently, but we've all been busy and distracted by other things (I've been focusing on Xrd, ReixInari and Loli Bacon have been playing Force of Will). So, there's not really any regular meetups planned. I don't know about BlazBlue -- I just haven't seen anyone play the new version, although there were several people who used to play the old version. I can try to see if I can schedule something that works with ReixInari and Loli Bacon's schedules, though. I'm not sure how interested they are in the new BlazBlue, but they both played CP. Another option is to just show up at one of the Thursday gatherings and bring an UNIEL/BlazBlue setup and see who you can get to play with you. I'm usually at the Thursday gatherings and I'm down to play some UNIEL, and hopefully we can drum up some interest in BlazBlue.
  19. Hello, and welcome to Tucson! There's not a big air-dasher scene here, unfortunately. We've got 3-4 people who play Guilty Gear, 3-4 people who play UNIEL, 1-2 people who play Persona, and I'm honestly not sure if we have any Blaz players. I haven't even seen anyone play the new Blaz here at all yet, but I've heard some vague interest, so there might be some people. This is in comparison to the 15-20 people who play SF4. On the other hand, no one plays Marvel, so I suppose it's not simply Capcom games. We typically do a Thursday game night from 6 pm to 11 pm, but it's mostly Street Fighter, and sometimes there's some Xrd. I can give you some more details if you're interested.
  20. My understanding (which is based on hearsay) is that players thought the game was well balanced and that it was too soon for a balance update, so ArcSys said, "Ok, we'll hold off on balance changes." Which is just as well, honestly. Xrd is indeed well balanced. I'm happy with leaving out any major changes for Revelator.
  21. Machaboo seems to have switched back to Ky. H-F, you missed Arc Revo, didn't you? Machaboo played Ky there, and he was beasting.
  22. That was hype. There were some great matches in there (Koichi vs Nakasu, Takehara vs Mugen, Susumu vs Machaboo, and Ogawa vs Daigo). Daigo really impressed me -- I wasn't not expecting him to be so strong at Xrd. Ogawa was in his head by the end, but Daigo did not make it easy for him. Susumu, too -- he did some stuff with Chipp that I have not seen before.
