In order to play this matchup effectively i find two things to be important. This may very well be alot harder than it sounds, but do your absolute best to not let the other hazama's chains touch you. Your ideal goal should be not to have to block or be hit by them. Drain him of his chains and force him to stay on the ground for 120 frames (2 seconds) to recuperate. Most hazama's like to jump and do j.6d (yoga sniper for you street fighter guys). An effective counter to that is to j. 5d. The basic idea is to guess what type of chain the opponent will do. If its j.6d, do j.5d. if its j.5d, do st. 6d. if he does st. 5d, do j. 6d. like ixRenegade said previously its rock, paper, Carnage scissors. lastly 214d->b murders the other hazama's 214d pressure. interrupt that shit with rising fang. I know this is a given by now but don't be caught doing 214d pressure after 3c. Just do 236c (jabaki) and make it safe

Apologies, didn't mean any harm by my post. About the "you're known for that type of stuff" that was my poor attempt to refer to when you paused on Sir Smoov. Something told me not to comment on dustloop drama, but I did and as expected somebody raged. Anyway, I don't have a problem with you and I wasn't raging Flash. Anyway, if thats not enough to clear the air then I don't know brah. -

I can confirm that this happened. I'm the Sol player that played on the team with doren2k and the carl player who place fifth in blazblue. yeh flash soft reseted but him and justin are cool and he let it slide. Flash knows that justin really won and justin knows it too. Flash did no convincing. he didn't say anything cause he knew he was wrong for that shit. Justin said tell your friends on dustloop that flash soft reseted on me. To me it was just shit talk. they know that guilty gear is on its last legs so they decided to fuck around and be funny. no big deal. if justin really cared he would've call DQ right then and there. its the other players right to call or not to call DQ. yeh flash is retarded but that was justin's call. it really wasn't that big a deal. We all know flash does that type of shit -

Blazblue had some hype moments when BAMA'S OWN hakumen player skeletal minion played against xcrosss. shit was hype. Bama had a great showing for it to be our first time playing a major for blaz. Skeletal minion got 4th place and i got fifth. Bama in the house! Sadly this seems to be the last real major tourney for CT. Good games to everyone I played -
annoy hakumen with chain cancels and chain fakes be EXTREMELY careful of giving him an orb or getting IAD C'd in the face. to elaborate make him stab at thin air sometimes and catch a counter hit j.6d to the face. Pull in for combo. Stay just outside of his st. 4c range try to make good hakumen feel like chain is threatening him. Most hakumen will get tempted IAD in. if you space it right you can anti air him with 2c for some decent counter hit damage. Most of the time hakumen will beat everything you have mid range so be prepare for to jump up and IB his air normals and punish if you're that close. the cool thing is that you don't have to be afraid of 6a anymore because its slow as shit. so don't hesitate to jump in unless you sense a counter in which case you of course bait it. Correct me if I'm wrong someone but doesn't hazama 3c go under hakumen's 4c. if so that may be useful too. hazama flashkick gets him out of hakumen's pressure too TL;DR annoy hakumen with J.6d chains and J. late 5d chain in the air. also after a falling 5d most hakumen will 90 percent of the time try to air dash in stuff that shit with a well space 6d chain BE WARY OF HIM STABBING THEM DON'T BE PREDICTABLE 2c is a good anti air if spaced jumping in on hakumen is not as life threatening anymore because of 6a nerf. 5a is still viable though so its not free flashkick (214d>b) his ass for getting too friendly when jumping in be prepare to IB his j.c or 4c then air dash in for profit. make him feel chain is threatening him so he whiffs moves to get an orb. thats when you have your opening. IB super his slow moves when you have the meter.

I've tried to input it earlier. (Sadly, it still doesn't combo) *buzzer sound*. Happily it does combo. Its tough but one must input the 8D almost immediately before inputting 2D. I apologize for doubting your wisdom senseis . The good news is that if you screw up this combo u get a good reset opportunity. You only get it if they tech forward or backward tech.
-
i get the last 2C to hit fine. I try to make it hit as late as possible. they still seem to be too high so they tech before 8D hits. I can't figure out how to get them lower. this is on Ragna btw.
-
Great Guide. Kudos to both kyle and zeero for consolidating this information. I have a quick question though. I'm having trouble with Carl-Nirvana-Opponent #4. I can't seem to get the third rep. I'm only able to get two. Could ya help me out.
-
that is true. i think I was being to broad in this analysis. so lets talk specifics as far as defending. ib'ing the last hit of K. lil eddie and vv'ing with tension of course seems very practical. ib'ing drills should also become staple in order to stay out of block stun as much as possible and to ib>vv when u see him run in after frc drill every now and then with 50% tension. this is true in other matchups as nives said but, learn to IB>VV or die. i just say this from experience in playin a good eddie.
-
yeh, but its particularly important in the eddie matchup because being able to block, reversal, and generally deal with his pressure could (for example) mean the difference between ib>vv or blocking and staying in his ridiculously good rushdown/pressure game. and as it was said before eddie is awful at gettin out of pressure so nullify lil eddie and start gf frc, frame advantage traps, and tick throw pressure asap
-
i find that forward exe beast is vulnerable to IAD's or jumps it totally misses so if u know exe beast is comin outside of a block string iad or forward jump. also its a good idea to play it safe until u get enough tension for gf frc. space and poke with f.S,2S,5hs,and 6H on rare occasions. and fish for CH 2d alot for big damage. oh yeah dont Dead angle exe beast when in exe beast frc block string it turns u backwards.also it almost never a good idea to jump in on him outside of oki and wiff exe
-
yeh jam definitely has slight advantage in this match up. especially when sol is tensionless. sol cant afford to be predictable with gf frc.u mainly want short strings to gf. one good thing to do, i noticed this when i play doren2k. do something like 5k>5S>2h>gf frc, jam blocks the string, jump forward immediatley after gf frc, land 2k into more pressure on block or combo on hit. another option is land wild throw or late j.p this is good on many characters but especially good on a parry happy jam
