my situations i will burn axe for, in order of preference. 1: for the match (not the round, the match) 2: to get my opponent to 10% life or less, without killing them, if i have a notably comfortable life lead 3: for the round. main reason for two is it gives me time to get to at least blue if not green, while generally not costing me the round. -------- edit: potential video stuffs http://www.twitch.tv/mixupnight in their archives. apparently two labrys's got to top8 or higher. so there might be some vods. gonna look thru eventually. ill tag if theres anything really noteworthy, but the heads up is here

probably range of the 5c when you start/when you cancel into 2c no tips beyond that. sorry mate.

if you land and have time to DP, they probably are doing a: a jab, which they can jab jab dp, or jab jab block to your dp b: something invul, so you armor thru, they whiff, but they recover to punish you cant say what faith is saying is totally bad, but keep in mind. my mindset is be prepared for them to always react to the dp properly if they have time to hit it twice then react. thats a reasonable reaction time for most players. biggest time i dp is when i call out a grab mixup, they do something i will win if they dont blow meter, or if they autopilot a string that i could beat with a dp (mitsurus doing shit into the drill into something else are a great example of this) basically, you have to be smart. it sucks, its boring, but it is intelligent ^^

if you mean the first BD theres 3 things to note 1: there is a small small small dash between the first and second sets of 5aa 2: you should start charging the BD asap after the 2c 3: though you can let it auto-release, releasing it a smidge early is helpful since you can release a smidge early and get the fatal counter anyway if you mean the 2nd bd, i try to get a little dash before the 5aa to help make it more consistant, but otherwise its the same notes as the first BD just practice and youll get it ^^

too true sometimes.
-
are you advantage at all? any time to get moving for a quick grab/dp bait/2a... or are you fully neutral and back ot that labrys footsie dance?
-
id rather just pretend that its the scariest tick throw eva ^^
-
indeed. at least people think its better than that. invisible frames.

1 match: win to rank up (vs higher ranked opponent) - i lose next match: lost to higher ranked next match: lose to rank down - i lost (FFS) win the next 6 in a row to higher/same ranked. no rank up in sight. the fuck is with this system? ====== edit: got a 3 man lobby open. grinding labrys as per usual ^^
-
not that thats an amount of damage we realistically need, but whats the notation for cracking 10k off 5b fc sweep omb? im curious ^^

Hello! Checking out some interest for some online XBL ranbat action! Might be a good idea for people who may or may not like ranked, or might want something to practice for between tourneys IRL. Might be good to help people meet new netplay friends or whatever excuse you want to have to play. To make sure things run smoothly for everyone, I just want to get some opinions on some points, and see what the general public would prefer. So do me a favor, and if you are interested, give some input on the following questions! Looking to do the first one maybe 1-2 weeks from now, and make it a weekly event.... So lets get the input in by like 8/22 or so? (edit: Input is slow coming in, so i might just make a judgement call and go with my gut if i don't get a lot of opinions. We will see.) So take a look below, give your input only if you are interested in this, and we'll figure something out! =========== 1: Tourney Organization: I would like to use Challonge to run the brackets, since it is simple. But for communication mid tourney to help people get things going smoothly, there are a few options. -Use an irc channel. --- You can use a web-based client if you don't have irc. This would just need you to have access to a computer throughout the tourney. Reporting in could be done via IRC PMs. -Use the Dustloop forums. --- I can post all the info online, but again this would need steady internet access. This could be done via smartphone though for those that prefer that, but would take longer since it is not real time. Reporting in could be done via XBL chat. -XBL account --- XBL has a feature that lets you view a friends' friends list. I could have everyone interested in the tourney on a side accounts friend list. Then you just need to add that account, and you can invite via viewing that accounts friend list. Then you can report back via XBL chat. -Other --- Taking suggestions! =========== 2: Date and time: -Input what day and what time you would prefer. --- Let me know all the days you could see yourself being available, and the times you could available those days. I am east coast USA. The ranbats would probably be split into USA time zones. EST/CST (Which i could run) and PST/MST (Which i could run if its early enough, or someone else would have to take care of). Splitting like this would help keep connections solid. =========== 3: Player limit: -A tourney-friendly number limited bracket (8/16/32 etc etc). -Allow everyone, and accept there will be byes. Personal preference, though I prefer option #2 (allow everyone) but if a lot of people are against it, we can avoid it. =========== 4: Point structure: It is a ranbat. So points will be kept. -Points for high placement, and small participation reward. --- This rewards stronger players harder, while making it important to finish well. -Points for participation, and a bonus for each round you advance. --- This rewards consistency, and makes bigger tourneys worth more points by nature. The bonuses would get bigger for higher placement, so the points would curve as you do better. =========== 5: Disconnect ruling: What to do in case of disconnect? -Forfeit the round. --- Regame would be done, but you allow the rounds to get set so 1 round is forfeited, and it gets restored to how it should have been. (Example: PlayerA disconnects from PlayerZ. The round score was 0-0 (aka the forfeit happened round 1). They would reconnect, and PlayerA allows PlayerZ to win the first round uncontested to get the round score to be 1-0.). This could cause issues as far as burst gauge, Labrys Axe, and slowing things down. -Forfeit the match. --- Things will be 2 of 3 so its not an instant loss. This will keep things moving smoothly. Problematic though as this solution is kinda rough. -Honorable regame. --- Good for accidents, but bad for ragequits. Will slow things a bit. Notes about disconnect policy: If there is a DC, I'll watch the game in case it happens again, or in case its unclear who was the DC and who was not. If theres 3 people in a lobby and 1 DCs, the remaining two make it obvious to see who the problem is. This is probably the toughest thing about online tourneys, so opinions here are helpful. =========== Other notes: -What if someone lags? --- You let me know who is lagging. If that player gets enough reports about his lag, I will prohibit entry until it gets fixed. I don't like this solution, but I want to ensure this runs will. A bad player in the pool can ruin the enjoyment of others, so I have to be tough on this. Nothing personal. -Recording/Streaming/Commentary? --- I lack equipment, but if someone wants to volunteer I would gladly help organize that the best I can! -Prizes? --- None from me. This is meant to be 1 step above casual netplay to give people a place to practice for tourneys/take the game a little more seriously/track progress/whatever. If someone wants to donate, I am not opposed, but go into it with the mindset that there are no prizes besides a pat on the back. -How to handle trolls/people doing less-than-honest shit? --- Case by case, but I will probably just ban them from the ranbat. This includes giving up wins on purpose (fucks with the rankings), entering on multiple accounts at once, and other shit like that. -Character lock? --- Yes, character lock in each tourney. You can switch between tourneys though. Learn your character, don't counterpick. Its a place to practice after all. ^^ ====================== Please get back to me if you are interested in a XBL ranbat. I expect 5 answers, since there are 5 main questions, though if you have other concerns LET ME KNOW and I will answer/we will figure it out together! Thank you

x-posting this from combo thread because i think its important to know. ---- Let me paint a picture for you. You got red axe and 1 (thats right, only 1) meter to start minimum, and you got them pushed to the corner, they get desperate and whiff something stupid. Time to kill them dead. FC Charged 5B - Charged 2B - 2C - 214B (ground version, only 2nd hit hits, do this fast as possible) - 5AAA - 236236x 6719 for 236236C 7919 for 236236D When can i do this? For example, you can do this if you standing block (maybe crouching too) Yu's DP (not even instant block it) if hes really close to the corner.

Okay guys. You want netplay easy? Let me paint a picture for you. You got red axe and 1 (thats right, only 1) meter to start minimum, and you got them pushed to the corner, they get desperate and whiff something stupid. Time to kill them dead. FC Charged 5B - Charged 2B - 2C - 214B (ground version, only 2nd hit hits, do this fast as possible) - 5AAA - 236236x 6719 for 236236C 7919 for 236236D Im sure we can milk that to 8-9k plus with some more resource, but that is simple and effffective. Love this character. For example, you can do this if you standing block (maybe crouching too) Yu's DP (not even instant block it) if hes really close to the corner.

random neutral 5c always loses to ice whip if they do whatever into the drill and you block, your 2a will be beat them mashing on something since it does come out faster than most if not all of her pokes after including the block stun. if she does the hop back after drill, you whiff. if she jumps, 1 2a and you can block the instant overhead j.b in time. if she does something jump cancelled into j.b for instant overhead you can NOT 2b that to beat it clean. you will get ch (happens constantly vs a friend of mine as i tried to figure if you could. please update me if this is wrong!) shits fucking annoying. really annoying. stay grounded mostly, derping j.b loses to her dp very easily. max range 22d can outrange the ice whip, and if shes very cautious you can walk her backwards slowly. if she moves up to punish with whip, roll thru. be patient though, and be smart if you got momentum. dont give it up for free, and safety > risky bullshit in this MU
-
havent played the mu enough to really know, but just a small note that if they do a derp fire break (the next fire is UB thing) into super.. just dp thru it. its hard to punish 5c as oki from mid screen for yukiko also will post more when i get better exp vs her.
-
far range 5c isnt too bad since it can outrange 5b. i try to approach via air and early on show him i am willing to double jump so he thinks about derp 2b reactions. 22c/22d seem to be important if hes being a bitch, since you can poke at him from far away on some items in the rotation. general ground footsies to get him to whiff a 5b then you can get in airdash or roll or something. shits rough. its generally just me getting lucky on some reads. let me know if you find some good tech ^^

watched the last match of the first video random thoughts as i see them (take my opinion with grains of salt. i would say im only average) -dont dp to seeing aigis dash at you in orgia from too close. she can usually land and block in time. keep in mind -dont dp to a neutral jump straight up. easy as hell to avoid your dp on. -rolling at some/most ranges (example being at 17:49 first vid) is REALLY risky. thats a free CH to anyone with decent range. for aigis its a sweep at minimum, or chaingun, 2b, etc etc. -far range 5d vs aigis is risky. most of her bullets can tag the persona, or she just chills out while you lose axe level. a lot of aigis like to cancel something into orgia, so if they are full screen and not in orgia.... they can just chill out if you 5d from full screen. dont like that move particularly. -you use cross up j.a a lot. airturned j.b would serve the same purpose most the time, but builds axe meter, better range and has better blockstun. consider it. -AA with 2b more. you seem to mostly use the command dp. 2b is a lot better for AA. -19:14, i would say dont ever do 236236d in neutral like that. it didnt kill, very easily could have not hit, and you burn the axe meter either way. if you reacted to the jump, 2b would have been better and safer. at yellow axe, even a 2b jc jb jc 214x into 236236d would have killed instead. dp also in that case would have worked because he did the flame wheel. roll could have been an option too. (you did 236236d in neutral again in the last round, that one was a god awful idea. it got blocked, and you had to rc to make it safe. 100 meter, and your axe to gray for a little chip is not worth that gamble at all) -after j.d, you can air dash. something to keep in mind as an option to approach since you can airdash into a falling j.b. not always a great idea, but using j.d at mid screen and just trying to space with it, aigis can 2b it for free mostly. -tari posted a video in the general thread about linking 236236x super after air guillo axe. watch it to understand when you should/should not. -aigis specific: roll thru her 2b. free punish at most ranges. -aigis specific: you do pressure into 236a-6-a move. aigis dp beats both options and at the range you do it, it would be hard/impossible to just 236a-6-4 to block it on reaction. -general note: sweep cancel into 236a isnt terrible on block, but on hit you give up momentum. if you cant confirm it, 214a is a safer idea since it hits on hit or block.
-
2a is fast, the DP obviously (super cancel into gear super if your in awakening.), the gear super obviously. intelligent jump outs. roll. basically, your options are kinda booty, so be smart and show the world you understand that 1 and 4 are actually fun inputs too 2b is a godlike aa, but if your opponent has a good instant overhead, dont go to it. example being mitsuru. my friend got me blocking and jump cancelled into j.b (the dumb downward instant overhead). i predicted this (not reacted, predicted, so fastest possible reaction) and got CH out of 2b's start up. just a thing to note. ============ thing to note. i have been experimenting with j.c as a very low to the ground air-to-ground move. it might have been possible, but it seems kinda legit. tested a decent bit anyway. so an idea if you wanna try it out. j.a into very low j.c - if the j.c is low enough, you can land and block a dp/other aa options. raw j.c can combo into j214a on regular hit i believe if done low to the ground (this might not even be a restriction). on ch if really low, you can land and pick it up with a grounded normal (not sure of axe level requirement) j.c into another j.c - if they try some AA moves, you will tag them out. if the 2nd j.c is low, you can land and block aa attempts. theres some other stuff, but nothing i have done enough to give out as advice yet. options obviously arent amazing, but tools are tools amirite ^^ ============ note about 236x in autopiloted pressure strings. if done from too far, they can roll it. if done from too far, some chars have projectile/full invul moves that will murder you for it. if done from too close, they can dp after the chain hits and if you do any followup, even just the 6 to go forward, you will get hit. if you arent at a point where it will combo, you should do 5a 5b 2ab 214a. 1: it works.... period. 2: good for axe meter, which you need if the 236a wouldnt have combod 3: on block, if you confirmed poorly, its reasonably safe. much more than the 236a option. if your not at a point where 236a would have combod. the reward isnt even high honestly. not worth doing. just my opinion
