Read my post and you'll see why it works Zong. It's just the way how the buffering system work. 794 is a legitimate way to IAD in GG too.

Again, from what I'm hearing it's probably best to shy away from Ippatsu combo right now. Don't even worry about it, because it seems to me that you think this combo is a means to an end. Unless your intent is to be able to do this combo and only this combo in training mode... But from what I understand you want to get good with Litchi and your execution isn't great. That's fine, because your execution doesn't have to be amazing if you want to be good with her, and being able to do Ippatsu>Riichi Loop isn't the way to get there right now. Focus on the easier combos so you have a chance at being competitive with her. If you can do 5B>5C>3C>41236C consistently like you said, then tack on the tk.236C>2C>etc that comes afterward and use that combo in matches. If you can finish this combo every time then maybe you can start focusing your attention to the Ippatsu combo, but until then your only chance for improvement is to start small and play the game. There is no fasttrack or trick to it. So can you finish her tk.Chun combos consistently in matches?

You need to get a feel for the buffer/input system. As you already know, 96 will never be an IAD because the game will read the first '9' as a forward jump, and then the following '6' is read in as extraneous input as far as IADing is concerned. When you input 9<filler>6 fast enough, within the allotted buffer time for an IAD, the game reads your inputs as: '9': When you look at the nitty gritty, 9 is a combination of 8 and 6 so you automatically get the jump and the forward motion in one input. <filler>: The filler has to be some joystick input, probably 5 but it can be 8 if you want. Or even 7 and 4. As long as it's not 6, because then the game will think you're rolling the stick from 9 to 6 which is not the proper motion for a dash. '6': You already got the jump and the forward motion from the '9' you inputted previously, and then added filler to let the game know you're not rolling. By inputting another 6 the game thinks you did a 66 in midair, and you get your IAD. If you don't do the whole thing fast enough, the game will assume that you're starting a new input command somewhere along the line and it will drop the initial '9' command that it was storing in its buffer. If this is the source of your problem, then your only fix is to do 9566 until you can do the whole thing fast enough to drop the final 6. If it's not a timing issue but a filler issue, you can try 946 to ensure that you get your filler input in (this way, you are essentially doing 9456.) Hopefully that wasn't too much information you already knew.

It sounds like the issue is simply lack of experience. You're overwhelmed due to your unfamiliarity with the character. When you are starting out, it is not important to do her optimal Ipptasu combos. Do her simple ones as you familiarize yourself with Litchi. I don't know what your execution is like since you haven't discussed it much, but I think if you can consistently pull off 5B>5C>3C>41236C then we'd have some kind of starting point. If you give us an idea of what you CAN do, you'll get better advice.

You know, it's looking to me that Socal is gonna have more than 3 people show up anyway so it might be possible to bump it back up to 5v5. Or like, even more. Not to complicate things... but just sayin'

I dunno if I have much say in this, but if it were me I would just pick hand-pick members for the 3v3 teams on the day of the tournament instead of going through a meticulous 8 hour process for a 3v3 that's only gonna last half an hour. Unless you're doing it for the 8 hour process and don't actually care about who ultimately ends up being on the team, then I'll shut up. As of now there aren't enough confirmed players from Socal to muster a real team anyway. Hey Jared what brand/model is your guaranteed lagless 40" TV?

I like a1, a2 and b2, b6 a lot. In all honesty I don't like any of the c's, particularly because the font for the kanji being used. The font style has a very generic and unpolished feel to it, which gives off a tacky vibe. The font used in a and b look clean and presentable.

Hey Jo. Within the past week I've actually been to AI on 3 occasions. I felt the GG cab was in pretty good shapes. Just cramped. Oh, I also brought my brother the last two times as well. lawls. If you're going to AX we can meet up. I'm tempted to bring a small CRT + PS2 but I dunno how gay AX staff is about setting up our own consoles (Fanimu is really gay about it... we had to be super ninja about setting up GG by finding a vacant area nobody goes to.)
