First off, I can't thank you enough for the extremely detailed answer. This is exactly the sort of thing I was posting for in hopes of finding. =D That said, if i'm understanding correctly, I'm going to prety much be wiring a second cord up to the board (scrounged from a PS1 controller? Would a PS2 extension cord work for that matter then?) , and calling it good from there? (To simplify quite a bit anyway) In any case, I'll probably go register and post at Shoryuken if you say they have quite the tech section. For that matter, i'll probably also look since Zazz was saying there are more than a few posts over there about the SF4 fight stick. Thanks again for the help man, it's greatly appreciated. Probably see you over on SRK

Alright DustLoopers, as a (general) lurker and occasional poster, I'm coming out of the shadows here because I need your thoughts and ideas on a project. (Posting in here since it seems a bit more fitting than making a new thread) First off, I recently purchased one of these (for 360) : So far, she's been wonderful. I've played a bit of SSF2THDR and Samurai Showdown 2 on 360, while practicing my general playing and motions on Melty Blood (Act Cadenza Ver B) and GGXX#R for PC. I feel like i'm learning the motions, and that all is well except for one key part. These are all fun fighting games, but I'd definitely perfer to make use of this stick in the current GGXX scene, at least until Blazblue comes out. ;P I was talking to Hellsap about this topic, and as far as he knows there's no converter for using this (or a similar USB stick) on PS2. That said, I got to thinking about possible solutions. The main one that comes to mind, would be more than a bit of a mod. My idea would be to split the cable coming from the joystick (that plugs into the console) and pretty much splice in a cable that would connect to the PS2. Button signals would be sent to corresponding pins on the PS2 controller port, and long story short I'd be adding another port to the cable. If i wanted to be extra fancy, maybe add in a switch to select what system i'm playing for at any given moment. (360/PC or PS2) To help elaborate on my idea, I've made a crappy paint pic here. MARVEL AT MY PAINT SKILLS. Standard trip-cord as seen on all wired 360 controllers. My ideas pretty much would go into modifying the end of the dongle, as to prevent butchering the cord on the stick itself. (I could buy a replacement end if things went bad) In theory then, the stick could be powered via the PS2 controller port, or even just plugging in a USB end for power alone. The single biggest problem I've had in thinking of all this, was how the 360 controller signal is sent. The more I look at the plug (and i guess now thinking about it being USB) the more I'm thinking that the controller input is sent as actual data and interpreted, rather than PS2 (and older) controllers just interpreting button presses by different pins having signals. In any case, I just wanted to put my thoughts out there. I love this stick a lot, and would really enjoy being able to use it with PS2 as opposed to buying an entirely new stick for said activities. -.- Whether you guys can offer some insight or even just shoot me down and give reasons why, it'd be appreciated. Thanks in advance DustLoop!

Guilty Gear FAQ Thread - Ask your questions here!

Believe it or not, I think that's supposed to be how many calories you burned that battle. =P (assuming you used the wiimote and 'chuck controls) -
Concur'd. It's really all about the paper whether your copics will bleed or not. It's sad though, since it oft means you have to fork out the extra cash for a high quality sketchbook. D:

Any more information on this matchup is welcome. I'm finally able to combat my local Chipp player's sweeps with some poking (Extending arms. I think it was 5S? ) but would really like some more in depth strategy for the offense. (This thread so far seems just about what you can't do against him. =\ )

Some of the things I recall going around were that Valentine was either a clone, or a reincarnation of sorts of Aria. (the Original Justice as I understand) Like Sephi said then, she'd inherit the Command Gear stuffs. IE controlling all gears produced after Justice. (not the prototype gear as shown in GG1, which is still canon in this universe) As i was saying (before editing my post cuz i had misread Blade's post), it seems like the guy at that livejournal is forgetting some of the pro-Dizzy arguments when he says he doesn't think it's Dizzy. Now whether it's a purposeful choosing to forget, or just looking past it, I dunno. It just doesn't make sense to introduce a character this close to dizzy in both appearance and plot deatils. EDIT - Mad props Zazz. Had forgotten about that. =P

Personally, I think Dizzy just really fits in the situation. You have a (half) gear who is related directly to Justice (hence the DNA or whatever Valentine wants) (whose appearance supposedly matches Dizzy well iirc. Wings, bow in the hair) All things considered, there'd be little reason for Ishiwatari to introduce a new character when he has one who already fits the Overture setup perfectly. (Unlike the other no-show characters, who I figure aren't there simply because they have little or no place in the whole Justice / That-Man subplot)

Kjorteo: You would pretty much get a TV input card or USB device for your computer. Then just use your choice in software to get the input going to your compy. (They pack in with ATI software usually, I know Teyah used to swear by showshifter, but I personally like DScaler myself) Pretty simple really, once you fork out the initial cash for the input device itself. -

I'm certain you could convert the original GG to a popsloader format. (The PSOne emulation on custom firmware) The only problem would be the PSP's terrible d-pad. (that thing's a pain for me any time I try to play SLASH on there) Granted it wouldn't exactly be a UMD format, but one could make it into an executable that runs off the memory stick. Also along those lines, GG is actually for sale in the japanese playstation store. (For download to both PS3 and PSP) For those of us NOT in japan however, I could maybe work some magic and conjure up a working PSP version. (If anyone's interested. ) I know you say just a posterity question, but out of my own curiosity, why do you ask? -
Aww. Not quite 13 pages, but I will definitely take what I can get. Thanks a lot for the link! ^^ Mmmm. Delicious Art Bookness.

What started as watching the boss fight against Raven, ended up with me looking at all I could, finding OST 2, and reading this thread in it's entirety. T_T That all said, I really like where Overture has gone (story wise). I had my suspicions at first, but after reading this saw that the plot was pretty rad (i like it at least), not to mention (as stated before) it does a better job with less plot holes. (A natural product of less main characters to focus on, as opposed to plot for each of GGX/GGXX's characters) As also mentioned above, this one really allowed more of a plotline to be weaved (as opposed to GGXX's story mode. "WE MUST KUNG FU FIGHT!"), and it shows. Maybe I also just like the idea that the new plot has the Advent Children thing going on with a new potential Justice showing up. I am more than a bit of a Justice fanboy. ^^; (Not to mention possibly the most epic final battle I've ever seen in a video game. ;_; ) I agree that the art and music (as always) are really evolving as the series tends to do. I like the new character designs, and while the first GG2 OST had me feeling down, the 2nd OST has well more than made up for it. I've thoroughly enjoyed every song on that damn disc. (With Holy Orders and Diva being the definite favorites) Definitely ordering that CD once I get more monies this term. ^^; I'm also hoping for more of an art book than just those 13 pages. ;o; Last, I'm not quite sure what to think of the strategy element. That aside though, the 1 v 1 (or 3 v 1 for mission 18. ;D ) matches look really fun. If this ever does get localized, it's definitely getting a chance + playthrough.

And you sir, are my hero of the month. Been waiting so long for this to come out. Just wish I'd checked and known it was on here a while ago.

First off, thanks for the warm greeting. =) Always nice to have a good reception to a forum. I've already noticed the wealth of good advice here and am doing my best to put it to use. As for the tickets to SoCal, I'm kinda doing the college thing right now (Oregon Institute of Technology, Klamath Falls, Oregon) so it'll be a year or so until I'm a little more free to travel about. That said though, hopefully I can get down there some day after graduation. =) Until then, I just do my best sparring against Hellsap and the rest of the Portland guys. (As well as the K Falls + Salem guys) ^^

Oregon Robo-Ky representative, reporting. Been playing RK since Slash, dabbled a little bit with him in #R. While I'm hardly the best, (still working on getting air -> ground combos off on command) I'd at least like to think myself adept with RK. If any of you guys are ever in the Oregon area, send me a PM or something. I (as well as plenty of GG friends in the area) would love a new opponent. =P
