Watch a lot of videos and try asking faultydefense (a Houston player) any questions you might have. I'm sure the Venom boards aren't bad. I think we're all gonna have to bother Kyohei to come out to play GG sometime. Kyohei could probably show you some really good shit. Nigga you play Ragna. He does coloring books with finger paint... USING HIS FACE. GTFO. I enjoy BB, but getting raped in GG and BB make me feel different, which is why I like to play people of the same skill level (not scrub level) in BB. Maybe it's just because I have more experience in GG that I'm biased. -

You say BB roll adds depth, but then you list option-selects that shut it down. Pro-tip: option-selects don't add depth, they take away from it. Think of it in extremes: if you could shut down every option someone had on wake-up with one thing, and you could repeat that against every character in the game, is that adding depth or taking away from it? The more options you take away from a game the less depth it will have. I'm not trying to disprove the things you said, but I just want to make you a smarter player. You still have rolls as an option and you could say that adds to the depth, but by listing option-selects you're just taking another step back. Depth in GG comes from a lot of different things: defensive, offensive, mix-up, and pressure options all connected to smart meter usage and fundamentals. Combine this with a very diverse cast and you get a game where you have a lot of freedom. GG is a large step above BB in all these characteristics. You'll understand as you get better at GG, which I'm fucking psyched that you're picking up BTW. I'll leave with this: GG is like being given a 10'x10' canvas and every color of paint you could want. Paint your picture. Be creative. BB is like being given a coloring book with 8 crayons. Color between the lines. Follow the directions. Unless you're Ragna. Ragna does what Ragna wants. -

The reason GG is so great is because you can throw someones gold burst after they do fake Gunflame. -

Pretty sure there is no local multiplayer and you have to be connected to the internet to play single player. Could be wrong though. -

Why play D3 when PSO2 is coming out? Why play PSO2 when Blade and Soul is (read:might be) coming out within the next year? -
The Relius Symposium will be this Thursday, starting at 9PM EST. It will last until I fall asleep while playing or we run out of stuff to go over. http://www.twitch.tv/St1ckBuG Bring technology, match-videos and questions. I'd be nice if all the Relius regulars could make it!

It would be $130 PER PERSON for the whole weekend. That's Thursday night - Sunday afternoon. If you're staying less than 3 nights then you pay less. Honestly, don't feel bad if you can't pay me now. You can pay me back in the future, I won't hunt you down or anything. I don't see a problem with your friend staying with us, but we will only have 2 beds: a queen bed and a pull-out couch. That's 2 per bed which is actually pretty nice compared to other tournaments (read: NEC). BTW, our hotel is a mile away from the venue. The hotel where Texas Showdown and Anime Matsuri are was booked full by the time I got around to booking a room and flight. I got the next best thing. -
For approaching, 214A > 6D and 214A > 2D are good options. 6D is usually used to keep them from moving, while 2D is used to beat them trying to hit Ignis out of her recovery (at least in my experience). 2D can also be used to keep them in place, just at the cost of more wife meter. In some zoning-heavy match-ups, 214A > 214C and 214A > 4D prove useful as well because the moves are some of Ignis's longer-active ones: the longer Ignis is active, potentially, the more projectiles she can guard-point. Of course there is no end-all answer to neutral that will deal with everything your opponent does. Feel them out in neutral and adapt. "Un-blockables" or "50/50's" require respect. I'll only use them against someone that doesn't know what my Oki options are after certain enders.

You won't have to chip in much. Usually I just let people stay in my room for free if it means they'll be able to make it. The room for 3 nights cost me around 400 total ($120/night + tax). If we split that 3 ways it's about 130 a night. If 130 is asking too much then just give me w/e you want. I don't judge. Huey is probably the best Bang player in the US. He's from Washington State. -

Are you talking about Anime Matsuri/Texas Showdown? I'm going with huey253 and I've already gotten us a room. I'm getting in pretty late (10 PM-ish) that Thursday night, April 5th. Let me know if you want in. I check out Sunday morning/afternoon. -
It works but it also comes with risk, as does almost every mix-up. I wouldn't be surprised if people could just up-back or 5A you out of it. People don't usually mash after 3C from my experience but yeah, just saying. It's good to run stuff like this occasionally but not all the time. You wouldn't want to get to the point where you're telegraphed with very large gaps in your pressure.

I don't find his oki to be amazing (from personal experience): it's just a part of his game, not the focus of it, and I don't think he relies on it much in order to win. Sometimes you have to avoid oki all together just because of your resources, not because of match-up related specifics... though you could say this for almost all aspects of his game, but this is what leads him to be an average character (in my opinion). But I digress... His match-ups are fought through answers in neutral so that you can get in and do some damage and maybe keep them locked down and mix them up. I feel like if you can't win in neutral you won't win with him unless you get lucky. Don't get me wrong, oki still plays an important part, but I just don't think that when you look at Relius you look at oki: I feel as though you should be looking at his neutral, since that's where you'll decide matches. I know this is a pretty general statement since you could say that about almost any other character, but I'm not sure how else I could describe it. He just depends on the decisions made in neutral a lot more than other characters. If you make a good decision then you're the fucking man, if you made a wrong choice or read then you fucked up: enjoy blocking with your weak defensive options and big hitbox. Does this make sense?

I'm probably going to start 9:30ish EST next Thursday. His neutral defines him. Sure. Why not.

I'm going to stream a Relius Collab next week sometime, probably Thursday night. I'm going to go over what I think is optimal in terms of combos and Oki. I want people to watch and communicate with me to give me their opinions or tell me about something I don't know. I'd also want to have people link videos of Relius play so that we can watch them together and pick apart certain matchups/mixups/pressure/anything, or just clear up some confusion about something you've seen in a match. We're still missing a lot of info on this character and I feel like this would be a good step in the right direction. Thoughts? Would people help me out with this by watching and preparing links to videos?

Pretty sure it's just $$ issue for both of them. Round trip train is about $150.

I'm going to Anime Matsuri. I would go out of my way to play GG while I'm there. I get in late Thursday night. What's good?
