  1. US Revelator is here! Wohoo! I'm having trouble with two things: 1. jD > MC > jD > air Zwei 2. SDTH Any tips? The latter is probably not necessary for me to learn until I get the basics down (and re-learn inputs..looking at you, Mist Cancel, Bacchus Sigh and OD). But the jD MC stuff I can really use some help with.
  2. I've been at it for days and I can't get most of these combos I'm seeing to work, especially the throw comobs on Chipp that he does. Most times for me the dummy is able to tech out before I can land the High MF lvl2.
  3. Can someone explain how guys like Karinchu and others are able to get so godike in this game without training mode in a home console release? How does he get those amazing setups? His ability to improvise combos is also awe-inspiring. And all on an arcade. Amazing.
  4. In some of Karnichu's blockstrings, I notice he does 2H and then immediately goes into j.K. How does that work? I can't seem to get Johnny to go into any air move after 2H.
  5. Glad I'm not the only one! What's worse; the new, reversed inputs for Mist Finer. Calling it now: I am going to lose so much fucking damage in this exact manner: 1. Successfully counter hit or mixup 2. Start combo 3. Get reset to neutral because I did qcf instead of qcb for Mist Finer input. 4. Lose the round/match FML. T_T
  6. Great post Brett. While I like Zweihander and look forward to seeing this move's potential, I must say that I miss Ensenga. I don't mind much that we can't improvise air combos on the fly like we could in previous versions but Ensenga was just so damn reliable as a combo ender. Even now as I train up, sometimes my muscle memory overrides the new aspects of Johnny and I'll try to end an air combos with a qcf+H like that move still exists, haha, Maybe Johnny's trying to sober up!
  7. This is exactly what I was looking for; sorry for being unclear. Thanks so much, this is extremely helpful! Guess I better hit the lab to practice those j.D mist cancels...can't believe that's a thing now. I'm not complaining, I swear!
  8. At last, Johnny is with us once more! Some questions. 1. I notice a lot of high level JO players doing MC jDs in their air combos...how important is this to be able to do? Execution-wise as a pad player, this is tough and will take some getting used to. 2. What is the best way to know if I'm doing Mist setups correctly? Are there any Training mode options that can help with this? 3. In some air combos, air Zwei tends to whiff...are there any combos ending with it that are universal to the cast?

In watching matches, it looks like I've seen Kanchiku (sp?) use 2H in pressure strings as a high/low mixup option, whereupon after the 2H, it looks like it puts Johnny in an airborne state, and he will cancel into air MF mid/low for instant overhead? Or am I making that up? While on the topic, are all versions of air MF able to be blocked low?
  11. Could you explain why you can't YRC if the opponent is in an OTG state? I don't recall that being an issue in SIGN. Also, if you RC Zweihander for the KD, can you still mist safely without having to YRC? Also glad to hear your thoughts on JO in the new game!
  12. Seriously sexy. How is that possible though? JI? It looked like both jumps were used in the air combos before the air MF.
  13. I love how as the match progresses Johnny's white costume color gets slightly dirtier. Nice aesthetic touch!
  14. Was watching the Satou vids; is 6K no longer MC-able? I saw him use it a few times,had it blocked and he just kinda let it happen. Maybe because he can't anymore? If so that is . Otherwise, Johnny looks hype as fuck and I CANNOT wait to get my hands on Revelator when it hits console!!!

  18. Hey fellow JOs! Now that +R is finally out in NA I am ready to take some time to play again, and I’m really excited about the new changes Johnny received. So in the hopes of inspiring discussion (things are a bit too dead around here), I have some questions: 1. What are Johnny’s best options for MF lvl2 P mid-screen, now that the wallbounce on hit is much shorter? In many Japanese videos I see, I’ve noticed that most players go for a coin loop and try to set up an enkasu in the corner, but when I took this to the lab, I found I’m having trouble getting this right; either I botch the IAD after the coin, or the combo ends with the last hit of Ensenga resulting in no KD. 2. What are the practical uses (if any) for ground DB now that the arc has been nerfed? 3. (Not ACR related) This question is for pad players – when you MC, which button do you use to start the MF? I’m rusty on my MCs and I’m trying to start from scratch, relearning the most optimal methods for MCing so I can develop a stronger pressure game. That’s all for now. Thanks guys!

  24. *sigh* guys please, it doesn't matter if it's free or not; honestly if you love this game enough you'll be happy either way. Let's drop that issue for now and just focus on the positives please.
