Throwing more apparently works; I had some fights against a RK yesterday and I got my best results when I used a mixup involving HS and 2D MC; once I got in range I just MC, dash and throw, coin, block RK's shit until I get an opening and get a lvl2 Mist Finer combo. The problem is, I can only seem to get a decent lvl2 MF combo when I hit him with 6P and MF High...the other are tricky because of RK's weight and me not used to the timing...any tips?

Can anyone give some advice on this matchup? I play a really good Slayer who has a great dandy-step mixup and reacts very well to everything I try to throw out. I know Johnny has no hope of out-poking Slayer but there has to be something Johnny can do to avoid being Dandied/Bat-stomped/Pile-bunkered to death. Thanks

lol well said. What I mean though, was your second question; reversing offense once caught. I typically do K>S>MF K or I try to throw...sometimes when I do the latter I whiff and get punished; I need to stop doing that so I need to find other means of getting our boy out of pressure safely.

So what kind of defensive maneuvers can I work on with Johnny?

So I've been playing GGAC for a while now and am getting used to our boy's nerfs, etc from Slash. I've been playing with the same group of friends as well and I hold my own quite well. But recently I've been looking for new competition, and when I found it I saw that my game needs HEAVY improvement. I can land combos, MC, FRC everything except the DBT FRC but for some reason whenever I fight new people it's like all I've learned in training mode goes out the window. Can any of you more seasoned Johnny players give me some advice as to how I can train better and actually retain that in competitive play? Would really appreciate it; anything from how you yourself train to suggestions on learning something I may not know about Johnny's game. Thanks.

Whoa whoa hold the phone; you can TK KJ?!? Guess I still have a lot to learn about Johnny. Again I'm guessing it'll be easier to do this on a stick?

I figured as much. I've only played AC on stick in an arcade once, and I refuse to do it again until I can get an arcade stick for my PS2. I'm a decent player on pad, but I looked ABSOLUTELY noobish on the stick. My respect to you stick players and, of course, BLEED. Another BLEED vid question: I notice that after he catches someone with a MFL2 mid he follows up with a KJ as they are sliding across. How does he do that? When I try, it seems to whiff or I'm never close enough for it to connect.

Question about the BLEED vids; is he playing on stick or pad? I've been trying to learn some of his techniques (specifically FD Dashing) and I can't pull it off on pad. I can't play stick (yet) so I was wondering if BLEED is on stick when he does it?

Thanks so much guys I'll be practicing this to no end. My main goal before getting my mixup down is MCing; it's such a vital tool for Johnny's game and much too often I get punished when my 2HS is blocked or I run out of coins inadvertently because I throw a coin instead of MCing.

Hey all, I'm trying to become better with Johnny and I seem to be having some problems MCing properly; most times I try it when I'm on the offensive I get a coin instead or a MF. I also don't know how to mixup properly; I notice I get predictable REALLY quickly. Any Johnny vets care to give me some advice in that respect? Thanks.

Great stuff here! I have a question in regards to your second combo in the vid; how were you able to continue the combo after the j.S that continued into the j.P > j.K > Ensenga? Every time I try it the combo ends. Is Johnny's j.S JC-able? How do you pull it off?

I hate Johnny vs Testament fights....every time I try to dash or KJ DB inside I always eat a tree or blood trap even though I think I miss them...and without Jackhound it's tough to get inside and set up Johnny's cross-ups...had one last night with my friend and it wasn't pretty. Ugh, any advice would be great. And don't get me started on Baiken...that fight alone is worth me learning to mist cancel to perfection...damn counters.

6K? Wow it sounds so simple...I've never tried it before and my friends who play Robo Ky LOVE to spam air missiles as I come in with a KJ or DB and I thought I had no choice but to eat it...I'd love to see this in action, if anyone can upload a vid of this that'd be great.
