i so wish to see full art for That Man and Boss Valentine any backstory tidbits or anything interesting like that?

Ky looks like "Dammit boy stop doing that!" but yeah i'd love to see some scans. i wonder if any old characters show up in the art.

my main beef is that the gameplay videos aren't direct feeds maybe its just me, but whenever there's a video of a screen it hurts my eyes

So Izuna is a normal (to use a term) creature of eastern myth, much like how Slayer, being a vampire, is a creature of western myth, right? i am reminded of that art from the GG1 complete bible of Johnny talking to a little May (which can be found at BioLogin's site of course). every mention of the term "non-canon" stems from EChang's posts on his LJ over some recent video interviews Daisuke did. but yeah the term gaiden always hit me as "this stuff is kinda important" but it still happened and deserves telling. Kinda like all the news surrounding the new SRW: Original Generations Gaiden, which really just adds more characters without killing any playable characters and even retcons a few deaths along the way.

now i can't understand what daisuke's saying, but i have the feeling that with what you're saying here GGX and XX are still in the timeline, but certain aspects have been cut to smooth out the timeline like Fugue said half the cast isn't even that important or active in the "main" story thread (Which concerns the backstory of the Gears, the plans of That Man, and the predicted disaster he's trying to avert) Then again, with a name like Overture and a "To Be Continued" at the end, its obvious that Daisuke will try again at this story. And I can think of several characters from the XX games who could show up without any major problems. But I'm just babbling right now and we'll just have to wait and see for how the AC+ story mode connects to all this won't we?

ok this is some really interesting stuff. especially with Sin and his thoughts on Ky (and how his mother loves and respects Ky for how he protects the people under his watch) can't wait for the ending translations

Actually its bit sooner than that. I heard its only 4 years after XX. Still a lot can happen in a few years. But I think we got all the plot we can until we get a notice of it being released in the US. I am certain it would do better in the US if only because with sales like its got, it can only go up. well everyone went "wahh" because AC+ wasn't announced at the time, so if that story mode wraps everything up in a nice neat package, i would think Overture's story will be a bit easier to bear. (And hopefully they'll drop in more of the characters we all love and have a more even mix of Old/New characters in the next one.) it is interesting That Man "can't be an adult." Does that mean the fangirls will go wild over "That Boy" now?

because she found Sin first (more like he chased after her and fell into her trap) and he'd make a better boss fight than Dr. Bird "not bird! dragon!"

i was rereading Ky's story mode stuff from GGX+ and this jumped out at me Ky taught her how to live as a person! :O

Ok Testament is a bit of a problem, but Dizzy's Gear Mark appears on the ring that floats around her

Gear-Sol's face from the front shows his five eyes(?) make the sign of the Gears. neat. i thought it was to cover up his Gear mark. at least that's what i heard.

i was wondering, that now with the new year, is the site going to do anything special for the 10th Anniversary of Guilty Gear? (May 14, 1998 was the JP release of GG1 on the PS1)
