  3. So.. the hitstop turns the 1f to more then 1f, allowing you to block easier? I would think rapidly switching between 3 and 4 would cause you to eat a hit if you were blocking the wrong way .. (well obviously, I mean it doesn't sound like rapid switching is a good idea!)

    I played some #Reload friendlies last saturday -- my other character's got owned but my Baiken won most of the matches I picked her. They were all surprised at the j.s combos :D
  6. Is the Slayer "has no hitbox" you refer to have to do with dash invincibility? (I've only heard about it)

(in #R) I heard about the FDC of the drill, and so I messed around and after a couple minutes I was able to keep Faust floating in the air for a while with the FDC.. but what usefulness does this have? There doesn't seem to be any hitbox Also I heard j.2k is an "instant overhead", if that's the case why doesn't it activate during the FDC.. ?

    I'm an amateur myself, but I think every character has a *unique* playstyle, in terms of movement, zoning, and lockdown. So experiment!
  10. A3, what do you think about Eddie's huge combos/unblockables in AC? Thanks for the info about Slash (I only have #R).
  11. So you can cancel a move with respect..? Does this allow for crazy combos?
  12. He's the last character you unlock . I hope they keep some sort of Romantic Cancel system.. sure it makes GG harder to "balance" but it's fricken awesome. Maybe if they designed combos in mind so that the best possible gatling only does 20% with no links.. and with RCing etc nothing more then 40% damage? I've seen combos in vids that do 60/70/80% of health.. that's just ridiculous imo . Mainly because it's .. hit, confirm >> rape. Using burst is kind of limited to escape. Has anyone played Melee? The DI system they use is very, very cool. You can "escape" combos with awesome reflexes by inputting directions during the hitstun.. the tricky part is -- if you knew you were going to get hit you'd have done something to avoid it.. so you have to get hit and smash DI within 4F or w/e.. OR just be psychic about it . But someone who either knows or can follow your "escape" can still follow up the initiative in many cases, even though they might not be able to do *as much* damage. I am intrigued by Death Combos, but when the starting move of a Death Combo is not anything special (the way activating IK mode is very risky), it seems kind of lame.

  14. Hm, so if Eddie was banned in #R tournaments.. = balance? Makes since about the "gaps" in the tiers. I'm not sure which I'd like better.. a few "top tiers" and no "crap tiers", or no top tiers but some crap tiers.. hm. ^C Eddie is'nt broken? I hear "Triple 1F block (aka unblockables)"!?!? There was some ^C video where the Eddie Instant kills at the end of his.. second combo. I guess "brokenness" comes down to: If a player plays their character AWESOMELY and another player plays their character AWESOMELY -- does the second one have a better then trivial chance of winning if the second one is low tier AND or the first one is top tier? Hm.. the difference between top tier vs mid tier and mid tier vs low tier..
  15. Is Justice tournament legal ? She seemed really overpowered in #Reload with basic gatling>specials (no link or RC) doing high damage In ^C+, are there still some ridiculous moves? There's a few vids I've seen where Susumuu's Chipp beats Ogawa's Eddie (IIRC) in Slash.. such beautiful moments.

  17. In terms of character matchups, raw damage output and ease of getting hits. (as opposed to difficulty -- hard to use combos does not make a character bad imo). Just wondering what everyone things is the most balanced Guilty Gear game? I only have #Reload and it seems fairly balanced, except for Justice. How do people find Slash, ^C+, or the older GGs?

  22. Ok, I thought I posted this already but couldn't find it.. did I Dare to Dream of Dustloop? Question: Are airdashes really short, frame wise, but provide a significant momentum boost that defies gravity for a bit? OR, are they long, and you can attack out of them, but can't block? Or, they are 1F long? I guess my question is -- it seems you can attack and block out of airdash, but are there any frames where you can't? (Or if it seems slow are my fingers just not fast enough edit it's really scaring me that I thought I posted this already and can't find it. please someone tell me they've read my post

    . Probably, yeah. It *could* make for some mindgames though.. eg VV (fake RC), they stay in block. Anyways, /thread.
