  1. oh no, i'm glad he's working and doing what he loves. i just miss his presence sometimes.
  2. *cough figured as much. a shame too, because he's one of the only people i'm willing to play bb with.
  3. americans have fundamentals and umineko is godlike
  4. jared's such a nice guy. does derek still play? i haven't seen him in awhile.
  5. the game seems really mashy to me, but possibly in the good way? i'll stick to xiii either way.
  6. rin, i could do hakumen combos for you if all else fails, since i know the three combos that matter (double j.C, 5C xx 5C, standard dustloop).
  7. if you go to the guilty gear + kof afterparty at my place, you can go to the best taqueria in town.
  8. again, part of the reason i think it's a good idea to not use j.C at first is so you know how she gets in; this way you can minimize the risk involved with doing j.D/hotaru. and when you're truly unsure and can't trust your reactions, press B instead. low risk, low reward- but it'll probably stop her from advancing.
  9. i would say that you should definitely fight most of this matchup in the air. HOWEVER, i would also recommend that at least at first, you refrain from using j.C entirely. this way you get a better sense of how tao is looking to approach, as opposed to tao just jumping out of the way and killing you for not knowing how to poke properly. also, learn to poke with j.B. i know this sounds crazy, but back in ct this was actually vital in this matchup since you didn't have any other way to poke her in the air without spending meter. example here.
  10. i don't know. do you like shitty games that are hype, or shitty games that are boring?
  11. if you really want to know everything...
  12. norcal we da best
  13. you'd be surprised at how many stealth bb players there are. fun fact: at this shitty random tournament in summer of 09, i played ricky ortiz (yes, that one) in the first round and almost won.
  14. i would be inclined to agree. tao is even more annoying than hazama if you're playing a tao that knows how to move. i'm sure you're all tired of hearing this by now but instant blocking is immensely important- especially against tao. every bit of meter and every bit of frame advantage counts. as i recall, dacidbro himself called it a broken mechanic. congrats vineeth! you have achieved what i was never able to, because i didn't know how to combo off of CH 4C last february.
  15. we should start a petition for this mode to be in mk9 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=To7jYnwCCaI
  16. oh, that? i was just glad somebody finally referred to him as a good hakumen player, lol. kune and hazama are my least favorite matchups, and i think he'll agree with me. both require hakumen to fundamentally change the way he plays (kune to a much greater extent than hazama, though haz is almost as annoying for other reasons), which is why he's still struggling with them.
  17. any time anyone wants to complain about having to drive, just remember one very important thing; fighting games are like sex. you don't get any better practicing by yourself, and you certainly don't get any better online.
  18. i'm glad you guys like my student. i've been trying to find some good cs1 haku vs kune vids for him, but that's proving to be harder than i thought it would be (emphasis on good, here). any takers?
  19. i only have it on 360, but i have two ps2 converters anyways.
  20. i actually want to have an 02um tournament next month. i just want to make sure there's enough people interested before i talk with chun about it.
  21. just learn the galileo mixup and america will be free.
  22. so for real, kof98 tournament at next month's nci? on second thought, i think 02um is actually a better idea.
  23. i don't think i'll be going because i'm pretty sick. unless my throat feels a lot better when i wake up, i'm not gonna bother.
  24. i don't think we'll be enforcing ratio, at least not for the first few tournaments.
