May as well be a place where you can find venom videos that have been posted without having to scour the other thread. Unfortunately P4A is kinda dying, lol, so there's not much reason for people to post anymore... But I'm always watching the forum.
-
Technically you can, although generally the opponent is going to stay in blockstun for the full duration of the move, unless they get pressed out of the last hit of the laser. It is going to be difficult to specifically have that move hit as a crossup. You can absolutely run mixup in the middle of the move but crossing up the pillar is very spacing-dependant.

So ACPR 1.10 is a thing. http://www.guiltygearx.com/ggxxacpr/location/ Venom changes: タクティックアーチ ボールの持続時間を伸ばしました。 ボールの配置が完了するタイミングが早くなりました。 Tactics Arch Balls have a longer duration Balls positioning is faster In other words, the only change is a buff to a move people didn't really use. That's kinda cool.
-
It's taken from mook scans, so it's as accurate as one could reasonably hope for.
-
I'm still a lot more interested in regular Tsubaki!
-
She took off her robes. But it's okay; they were weighted clothing. Her power level's even higher now.
-
... I'm okay with this character design. Good job, BlazBlue people.
-
YOU HAVE NO HOPE! It's cool. It'll still probably be out before Skullgirls patch.

Oh, are we talking about stuff with no relevance on actual gameplay now? Stuff that will never be fixed? Yeah, okay. Chaos Roman Cancel, in survival mode and through the extra menu, is a buggy feature, and does not properly cancel some things. Axl's super will, if Chaos RC'd at the right time during its projectile component, continue hitting the opponent after you move on to your next move. This allows you to combo into Rashousen (his command grab projectile), if that's what you Chaos RC'd to, and the opponent can recover before the attack hits. If they run up to you and grab you, they will stay in Rashousen's special state until hit by the move again, and various actions will cause them to rise into the air while they're connected to you by the chain. This causes unusual behavior in many cases.

Did someone say frame data? I mean, I think I may have, at some point. http://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=Frame_Data_(Venom_GGACR)

6K 16f startup FB Stinger Aim -3 on block from point blank (rumors of increased recovery unsubstantiated!) Tactics Arch 29f total recovery (compared to Ball Set's 26f) whatttttt Okay, sure.

Oh you will definitely get re knocked down if you neglect to tech off the ground, but he can't just keep looping the same setup there. There's stuff you can do if doesn't hit meaty. Air to ground is generally bad. His 2B is nonsensically good. Against a lot of 2Bs you can throw around your j.B right and clash with it but his hits twice so that's not gonna work out. You can jump around it and try to make a guessing game but it's really not reliable. He's mobile enough to fairly reliably be able to run up 2B stuff. He has no reason to go air to air with you given his godlike 2B. What makes this matchup workable, imo, is how dramatically it shifts in your favor once you get pressure. Yu's DP is not good at escaping your general traps and if you can get him to block or better yet force a real hit then you can start to work your magic. I generally play it pretty cautiously, waiting for an opening in his pressure, then start up my game from there. He doesn't have anything that's actually plus so if you can identify where your opponent is placing the gaps in their pressure and you know where to IB you can get in a quick 5A, for instance. Just don't get fatal countered.
-
Not teching can get you out of many setups but it does also mean you take extra damage since the 5D will tend to scrape you up into another knockdown, though, that knockdown at least will not have as strong of a setup off of it. In general, though, the way to beat Yu's silly mixup is to fight Yu a lot and learn how to block it, and run your spacing such that you avoid being caught in it as much you can. This kind of sucks for you, though, because Yu's pokes are as a whole better than yours... But, it is what it is.

[CP] News & Gameplay Discussion (Old)
Adelheid replied to kosmos badgirl's topic in BlazBlue Gameplay

1 frame jump is cancelling jump startup to air FD. 7~P+K, or whatever. It's an escape tool.
-
He's fine.
-
I'm uncertain. Looks to me like he may just be feeling it out trying to see what he can add there; it isn't really a longer combo than what he does to HEVEN at 17:34, where he hits the lightning ball and connects HS Mad Struggle but they tech before the flip.
-
The combo starting from 2S at 6:08... I could not BELIEVE he actually picked that up... Dang, Fino's picked up some tricks! Edit: 15:53 Really?

Explanation of System Mechanics & Narukami Frame Data
Adelheid replied to Veteru's topic in P4:Arena Gameplay
Well. In many cases, multiple "parts" of attacks have different proration values. For all of these, they just aren't treated as being the same attack; Ground throw and the throw followup aren't the same attack, the first four bullets from bullet stance aren't the same attack as the fifth bullet, and AoA~C/D is the three separate attacks "All Out Attack," "All Out Rush," and "All Out Finish." I've written up a lot on the wiki to relate the damage formula discussed here to the frame data pages, though more of this data probably needs to get up there too. http://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=Damage_(P4Arena) -
I was tired last night after playing a 40 game set and didn't mean to say you said more damage, you blatantly didn't. Lol. My bad on that one ε: Also while I'm here, D Challenge Authority having over a second and a half of invuln and being only -4 on block is amaaaaaazing. Though since it's slow to start up you do kinda need to worry about people cancelling moves to super if they have meter (which will kill Asterius and steal the hit) or recovering and evasive actioning through, it does manage to have its uses.
-
"In titanomachia, some attacks gain more hitstun, and some gain more damage" No, this isn't true, this is completely untrue. As I've mentioned before, what actually is happening is that all Asterius' attacks gain unscaling untechable time. And none of them get better proration, either... (Still cool though)
-
... Eh...? I don't think most people really consider how their combos flow when picking their characters. Challenge mode doesn't exactly go over neutral game, pokes, and setups, which are more typically what you would care about when playing a character. There's a few examples of, oh you can tailor combos to accomplish X goal besides damage/knockdown, but by and large you don't learn that from challenge mode. If you're trying to figure out who to play, the best idea is to really just play a few matches and get the hang of how a character moves and feels to you, maybe watch some videos to see how they function at high level play. Purely for the purpose of figuring out who you want to play, I don't think it's really exactly necessary to learn combos more complicated than "do whatever into knockdown." Efficiency and damage per hit doesn't really matter for getting a feel for your character, and while combos can at least give extra metergain for giving you tools, any way to practice that isn't actual serious match play is going to be an abstraction to some degree anyway.
-
Well, every following move. Later hits from a multi-hit move aren't affected by it. However, multi-hit attacks where there are "multiple copies of the same data," for instance 236C's 6 laser hits before its pillar, do have the damage halved for all hits after the first. This halving is true for all similar attacks from other characters, though Shadow Labrys coincidentally has the same character rate. I've noted these in the frame data with damage×n. For example, 236C's damage is listed as 190×6, 950 (1615) The (1615) is effective full damage; If laser starts a combo, you get 190 + (190×5)/2 + 950 = 1615 damage. Character rate is applied for all hits in the move. Interestingly, this is still true if you have a hit in between, for instance if you hit with j.B after the second hit of laser you get, keeping in mind that 236C's P1 and P2 values are 0+500 and j.B does 570 base damage, 190 + 190/2 + ((1 - (0+500)/100 * 0.04) * 0.5) * 570 + (190×4)/2 + 950 = 190 + 190/2 + (0.8 * 0.5) * 570 + (190×4)/2 + 950 = 190 + 190/2 + 228 + (190×4)/2 + 950 = 190 + (190×5)/2 + 950 + 228 = 1615 + 228 = 1843 Which is interesting.
