Shrug however you wanna put it

I never once said I " knew " lambda, but in any case her old bnbs still work, whether they do worse damage or not. Jin is suppose to be perfectly balanced. But sorry I upset sucha master of the game by trying to help someone out a little.

Well first off what's the title of the thread? Its all about someone wondering IN GENERAL which characters are easier to move from CT to CS with. Its not asking what's all the major things different with said character. Yes lambdas a lot different than nu but the same can be said for everyone. In general you still play her the same and a lot of things do carry over easier than some characters. Saying all this you might as well say Ragna is played differently because he has two new moves. (Lambda is a lot more different than Ragna I know before everyone jumps me) As far as Jin, 98% of jin players play offensive rushdown styled. Its not wrong and you can play every character in different styles but Jin in CT is built to be a more defensive/zoning type character. Tell me how many BnB of Jins carries over? Only a couple and those move involved also have different inputs. In any case I never once said I was an expect for any characters and I haven't got to play a million games of CS but I do have at least experience in the game and have played for the majority everyone. I'm sure there's a lot of things I've missed but in general that's what I got for carrying over characters to CS. Trying to help someone out with experience not by information I got from reading the forums or watching videos.

My bad ^^ I've only got a few rounds to play with Tao and the combos I used for the most part worked. Never paid any attention to the damage though ^^; Don't talk about characters I don't know? That's funny because I play everyone in CT minus Carl, Arakune, and Bang. And I've played quite abit with Lambda. Only main difference is the 236 a/b/c moves, all Nu combos still work the same you just have a couple more tools to help with. I played Nu very up close and not very zoning anyways Edit: Needless to say it's just a guy asking which characters basic's seem to be about the same... not exactly the same. I just rattled off a few that are fairly the same in my own experience playing CS that I know alot of things follow.

Well, my input is as follows: Characters almost the same as their CT counterparts Bang Ragna Litchi? Tao can be but just a new 236B in the air(much more useful than old one but can also be used in same combos) Carl? (I wouldn't know on this one for sure) Tager Nu (all of Lambda sword combos still work except theres no dash cancel on sword summoner and no ground scythe after 5dd, 4dd combo) Hakumen (main combos work still just have to get used to new air c and old 2c in air is 2a instead) Arakune (exactly the same from a friend of mine says except the new curse system) Characters who are completely different Jin (none of his old BnBs work and his gameplay style has changed from Defensive (CT) to Offensive (CS) So hes completely different) Rachel (Seems really hard to do BnB but they are still there. When I tried her I couldn't wind and do my moves at the same time like in CT.. you have to do it before or after which is weird...) Noel (Um... grab cancel combo not so much there anymore, drives completely different speed and new BnBs) Tsubaki/Hazama don't count because they are obviously not in CT. But on the other hand neither is really hard to pick up. Tsubaki need to learn to charge and may be easier if youre used to play rush/beat down characters like Ragna or used to inputing 236/214 back and forth in combos (Ragna/Litchi) Hazama is really reliant on his 3c and also his stance attacks (236D + a/b/c/d) May be easier to pick up if a Tao player because his Drive acts in the same manner as Taos (2D on the ground goes up)

oh ok... something to look out for

Air throw thing?

I'm sure that would be a lawsuit ^^

Awesome XD I love it :D

I have a hard time seeing Tsubaki's DP of much use except in a combo. Almost any time I do it I just get smacked outta it ^^; DP without invincible frames is kinda hard to get used to... coming from a Jin player XD

Yea... I also noticed if you get hit theres going to be a few 3k-4k combos in a row you with run into. How do you guys thing about FuRin? I had a bang I played against lately that will get all 4 in one combo and go instantly with meter. Also one of Bangs strongest moves I think that I dont see much is the bumper nails. I know one bang in particular that once he gets about 4 of them out youre dead ^^; Strongest suggesting if youre havign alot of trouble with certain characters... learn those characters so you know when/how to block and retaliate against those crazy blockstrings. In any case, Bang plays want you to block alot. They have a good hi/low mixup and that command throw is devastating if you don't tech out. I don't think bang has a whole lot of overhead (correct me if I'm wrong... Bang and Carl are about the only characters I don't play often.) So on wake up it should be safe to block low and stay there till you see his slower overheads start. Just beware the speed at which he can go from that overhead to back low. It's pretty quick.

Bang is scary... no lie xD. From my experience so far I have to agree that Ragna is of more threat. Bang really depends on how the other player plays. I've only seen Ragna played one way xD and that definately keeps you from having time to charge. Bang's drive can be a pain but with Tsubakis many multi-hit normals and such it should be fairly easy to hit them out of but... on the other hand if the teleport to the other side of you, youre still in animation and will get hit. I think Bang is hard for everyone in the game ^^ He's just too good. Match up wise I've had problems with Bangs and Ragnas. Everyone else isn't so bad. Tsubaki's weakness from what matches I've been in (granted not many) is other rush/beat down characters that don't give her room or out prioratize her.

I second this xD I can try to make them... but I haven't had much time to play with sprites lately like I used to so it would be awhile... and I'd have to get some practice in for quite awhile first xD EDIT: Ok on a better note I would like to say that her special (236236C/D) does have at least some invincibility frames to it. I'm sure it's just startup but maybe just after the initial hit I'm not completely sure. I've been hit outta it before, but at the same time I've hit them and then didnt get hit out. Need more time to play with it, but i do have a video of me hitting an Arakune with it and his bee's not hitting me outta it at start up. I'll try to get it posted pretty soon >< still haven't uploaded many videos.

I duno really... Tager's are one of the characters I have least trouble with... but maybe cus I play with a very avid tager player quite often so... ^^; If you wanna play far away, thats fine just anticipate the sparkbolt and 236B into BnB or wallbounce set up. You have alot of ground speed against Tager and can get in real quick and throw them off with Pressure as long as you mix it up. Just don't get predictable or you'll eat a 360/720 quite abit. I have a bad habit of using 236D when far away and my friend just 360s me outta it most of the time >>;
-
I'm also a Jin main but I have to say Tsubaki's really fun ^^; I need to try and go again soon to practice the BnB but I think I'm getting the rest of it down decently.
-
Honestly I try not to use 6cc too much cus its just easier to do 6c>jc>air combo. It sometimes kinda hard to super jump into after the followup. I like x > 22D > 6C > air combo ^^;

Don't get me wrong. ^^ I don't pick characters like that and never have. It just seems after finding the characters I like to play with they happen to end up mid-low after the games been out for awhile. I just go through the lopp and find the characters fun to play and go with that. Tsubaki's wicked quick and I like characters like that. In GG it was Millia as my main with Sol/Ky as a sub. In BB it was Jin as my main with anyone of Rachel/Ragna/Hakumen/Nu as a sub. So far playing CS theres no doubt that Tsubaki's gonna be my main no matter where she would be tier wise. And all the same I'm still gonna play Jin/Rachel alot no matter where they've been placed. So far match up wise Bang doesn't seem too bad. I played Bang the most so far and really... it was easier for me with Tsubaki than Jin >>; Now Litchi on the other hand <shudder> thats gonna be fun lol

As far a tiers go. I guess I'm weird and hope she stays C or lower. I don't like tier list in any sort and I usually main mid to low tier characters just cus thats what I have fun with. But I do have to admit it's always fun to go up against someone who picked their character from top tier and beat them with a mid or low and ask them how they like they tiers now ^^; Tsubaki seems overall pretty decent of a character. I've only had 2 chances to play CS so far but I've changed my main to her for sure ^^
