  1. He's trolling hard, I would just ignore him. Yawn.
  2. Yeah that's what I imagined as well. Why would they give sol that option but not pote after all?
  3. I generally respect your design decisions and general fighting game philosophy, so I don't want any of this to come off as disrespectful. You seem to get fighting games in a good way. Regarding more less options:On totally the same page. Having weaknesses can open up options for the opponent in a different matchup, making them use new tools. Wild throw YRC option select: In general I don't like option selects like that either. I think something you might be missing though (or I misunderstand myself?) is that most moves when active or in recovery can not be YRC'd. You must use the purple RC, which has a large startup time where the opponent can hit you and requires 50% meter. So in the sol scenario, I would not be surprised if he can only purple RC the wild throw, giving the opponent time to air dash out and costing sol him 50% meter. The same is true with most moves on whiff. While I would personally be on the side of removal of the ability to cancel things on whiff for the same reason as you, I understand the design logic of simplifying the RC system. To a newer player knowing that pressing 3 buttons makes any move canceled has a degree of simplicity, perhaps at the cost of higher level mindgames. It still might be quite possible to punish the purple RC though with some characters, move dependent of course. And even if I am wrong about the way YRC works in most situations, if we end up with OS fighter like in SF4 it would not be too hard to pull the YRC window back to pre active frames in an update. The slayer scenario: Though I understand the point and think that YRC could be a big issue with bursts (because a burst takes the opponent out of hitstun, you are able to cancel the startup of the move rather than the active frames), that specific scenario slayer always had a way out with his frc on dead on time IIRC. And that would deal with both situations as well
  4. I have always found people have a bit of a misguided view that filling in all the weaknesses of a character makes a game more interesting. You want ideally for all the characters to be at the same overall level, but it is ok for some to have a weakness against crossups, especially if they are designed in such a way to be able to prevent getting into that spot to begin with. Intentional weakness that are still balanced are actually a sign of good character design I would say.
  5. I hope its a move towards fluidity, and slightly less rote play. They could add the YRC on her ice spike or spinny wheel without too much trouble. A YRC without fish/spear firing would still be quite powerful, but I would think balanced. If I can call fish and look to see if I made the wrong call by your movement then make it safe, well that isn't nothing.
  6. Lightning spear yrc would be almost broken. It is way way more important than her one serious FRC.
  7. All the characters they already have artwork for, because they won't have updated that for nothing. So Dizzy, Johnny, bridget, and sin.
  8. Johnny has much longer recovery on many of his pokes, making missing a simple poke a big deal. Slayer does not. Slayer's air to ground and air to air is some of the easiest in the game too. Whenever I play against good johnny's i get the feeling they are thinking many steps beyond what I am.
  9. Johnny was quite playable in #r. I doubt they will keep jack hound, but with the new RC system he won't really need it. Any hit -> RC -> Johnny damage? Yeah. I just randomly thought, could a sol punish a dp with say, Gunflame (yrc) h, gf hits, BB ect? Giving him great damage for 25%?
  10. I think forced prorate only ever prorates the rest of the combo once. The most I could think is if you prorate with an even greater proration move, that overrides it.
  11. Did it always prorate in #R?
  12. Can you do faf(CH), BB, far (RC), BB, faf, ect?
  13. Baiken counter YRC before the hit would be way too good. I would poke, block to avoid the counter, then she would YRC throw. ... Unless it really is as slow as Teyah implies. I really hope if dizzy makes it in, she doesn't get fish yrc. That would be way too good. Ice spike and Spear would be okish, but fish would be too much imo. Other than that she would likely transition into the game well.
  14. No, I certainly think millia has enough mixups that she doesn't have much to worry about. We were just getting all theoretical up in this bitch.
  15. I highly doubt the screen freeze is a full 40f... but even at 20-25 its still enough to kill most mixups.
  16. Ooph, 16f seems like a much better amount of time than 20f.
  17. That's disappointing news.
  18. @teyah isn't yrc a 6 framer? That plus Millais jump k (4f? 3f?) should still be a 9-10 frame mixup. Which would be unseeable. Same with most of the situations listed. Adding 6f isn't a deal breaker for throw mixups. Unless Yrc's are not 6f? Aren't rc's only 1f? Is there some hidden thing I'm not getting here? I guess on hit it takes 50% instead of 25%.
  19. Ok, so based on what every said, I think this game will have much higher damage from combo conversation off stray hits. RC'ing moves should make random faust 5s's turn into full damage combos no?
  20. I know there IS a specific term for it, poking seems a bit imprecise given how nuanced the term already is.
  21. So what is the term for landing random hits not in a setup such as a faust 5S or a jam far s?
  22. Yeah, that's what I was saying too. I think the RC system is really really going to increase abare. Any random hit +50% will mean a near optimal combo. FYI I THINK sol can do 5H gunflame RC 5H bandit -> Whatever. Sounds like damage!
  23. So if they didn't change hitstop, how did they change pacing? Just the acceleration nerf? For millia, you should be able to YRC early and get the jump K to hit at around the same frame as the haircar, which was the point of the original mixup. You just have to do it earlier. When I talk about things like fafnir being safe, I'm speaking specifically from the mindset of #R, because that is 95% what this game is based on.
  24. That used to be untrue, is it true suddenly now?
