I agree with almost everything sirlin said, though I would explain to him why that specific throw option select exists.

I don't think anyone is "counting him out". I think in general, the gg crowd has a much more balanced and realistic look on how fighting games characters and tiers are.

Game design is an artistic choice as well. Having different reversal times affects the feel of the game. SF4 feels sloppy. Moves are coming out that I feel I am not even doing, or attempting. Guilty gear feels tight, and with that comes an added difficulty. I am personally very happy with a game that feels tight over easy. (sounds like a type of egg, tight over easy) 2F windows become easy. They really do, and I NEVER grinded in training mode. You just need to play enough.

Anyone who says you can't feel tiers in GG is smoking something or was just not at that level. Tiers were always pretty easy to feel out in GG, and they have always been noticeable. Beating eddie has ALWAYS felt like climbing a mountain, except in slash. We were just lucky in GG that many of our best players were not tier whores, so you had Final showdowns amazing ky and KBNova's amazing Anji/zappa ect ect. Still, the bad matches were more winnable than SF. Playing against really good Sagat/Akumas in vanilla SF4 was so hopeless as to be boring. There is nothing like that in GG, thank god. Millia's 6k is totally reactable (for some people at least), but, with all moves it becomes less reactable the more she uses only that and 2k/5k. If she properly mixes things up, it becomes an incredibly potent tool. Reaction time is much more complex than many of you are giving credit.

What is the optimal combo off i.jd 236236p super in the corner? -

His pressure is crazy easy. He is NOT that difficult in neutral. You can easily pull that guy to mid level without much trouble. Sure, at the highest level, perfect control of the little eddie in neutral takes skill, but it's a myth that he is hard to bring up to mid level. -

Zato is always easy as fuck at low to mid level. Just because you aren't doing Ogawa perfect shit doesn't mean you can't get stupid good offense just releasing K and mixing up high low.... -
Thumbs up!

Eddie unblockables are not true unblockables. We have known this for years.

[XRD] Sin Kiske Gameplay Discussion "Playing with Poles"
Destin replied to Ventus Tatshima's topic in Sin Kiske
You might want to test your first part with an RC, I believe RC's have forced proration. -
Is there some way we can update the first post when a full capture of the story comes out?

On teching- It's not that back teching is bad per se, but a lot players default to back teching every time. Forward tech into p or throw is quite powerful, as you have some invul from the tech itself. In reload by the end, neutral tech was by far the most important tech. For timing, just press the tech's before the hits of their combos... If you know how their combos work, put your tech's 1-2 frames ahead of their hits. -

GG was pulling in numbers easily equal to any SF game in it's heyday, outside of evo. Many major tournaments we would actually have the most players of any tournament. @The DMK- Kono Walchuck will be throwing down with me as well, and he is really one of the grandaddy's of all American GG. -

Faust is a very good choice for a beginner, and he can zone if he wants to. He can go where he wants to, a place where they will never find. And he acts like he comes from out of this world leaves the real one far behind. And he dresses real neat from his hat to his feet and surprises em with a victory cry. Don't even get me started on his anti air's! As long as he abuses it, he's never gonna lose it. Everything will work out right. Good choice if you want to zone. A safety choice. To dance. -

There are OS's all over guilty gear. I don't know why we are so worried, the throw/lower level hit OS is considerably more powerful than a simple YRC through bursts at certain tensions. The concept of the FB isn't horrible (although really unnecessary in GG), it's just the implementation was less than ideal. -

I doubt the air throw would be guaranteed in most situations. You will either be at a similar level to air throw as you opponent, or you will be able to get an air jab out. It's not a great situation, but I think the chances of guaranteed airthrows is fairly low. -

Most real old school GG players are nice as fuck. Easily the nicest fighting game group I have ever seen (though I don't know the smash group). Because it was a niche japanese game, a lot of that america play to win ho-rah took a back seat to people playing to improve, and therefore improve their competition. The only annoying people were those who looked up to the street fighter community a bit too much. If I would act superior towards you, it would be because you think Ziggy Stardust is david bowie's best alter ego. I mean, really? Best album, sure that's a definite contender, but best alter ego? Pshaw. -

I like quite a bit of what they did with eddie in this one to be honest. Turning the overhead into a throw (thats what they did right?) has much of the same utility without giving him the easy mode unblockable. -

I'm almost positive it used to be LMM pre AC, are you sure it wasn't? -

2 lows creates almost the same effect, but yes I was talking about strictly AC, ACR realized it was silly and changed it back thankfully. And this game does it right too, so that's good news!! -

Eddie's drill being 3 low hits was one of the things that pissed me off most about AC. It was very difficult but feasible to block his unblockables before that, after that? Basically impossible.
