I actually want to play CS2 also. I realized I didn't like Hazama as much as I thought I would, and Noel being shit tier made little sense from a design perspective (make a new character with the same moves, nerf her due to online players crying about D button, then profit?). But CS2's damage seems like AC's, and if AC didn't have force breaks it would probably be the most balanced GG game, so I'm hoping CS2 is as good as it seems it should be. Then maybe I'll have a reason to meet all these BB new-bloods we have in MD.

Hrm, people play Vanguard Princess now? I think I installed that game a little less than a year ago, but no one plays it in MD. I think I ended up fooling around the most with the girl with the biggest tits.

Training mode is good and bad for games, since it lets you learn. A bad game that no one knows anything about will seem as fun as a good game everyone knows everything about because if no one knows anything, everyone plays like a scrub. It's why fighting games can be sold to people that don't play them. How many people bought SFIV just because it was a SF game? How many people bought it and know wtf they're doing? I guarantee that the majority of people who bought SFIV don't know wtf they're doing, and they play with people that don't know wtf they're doing, so it's fun to them.

Ok, I read the text. Alex, you can't play as Rachel in CT and believe Noel has any good chance against your hurricane katrina abilities if you know what you're doing. I'll grant you that you know what you're doing with CT rachel, but if you're honest to yourself you'll understand the bullshit in thinking CT Noel has anywhere near the capabilities of CT Rachel. At least with GG, the tier spread is more narrow, and hopefully BBCS2 will adopt that strategy instead of the "broken == fun" philosophies of mori. The horribleness of BBCS is that some things were changed completely that didn't need to be changed. Noel turned into nearly a whole new character, when in CT she was mid-tier at best. Granted, CT was a crazy broken game in terms of balance, but the fact that her 5A's brokeness only made her mid-tier should mean something. Why not just change that and reduce her damage and be done with it? Less testing necessary, and less of a chance to royally fuck up.

I haven't even read those walls of text between here and my previous post, but I will. It's good to see that MD is off of life support. I was about to check up to see whether the Make A Wish foundation would be willing to make a wish for this thread...

8/10 I don't know about BBCS being a good game, Alex. Didn't your character get paradigm-shifted to the kingdom of crap tiers? They made too many changes that I consider relatively major for the game to have tweaked balance. It seems more like they just ran a raffle of characters to see who would get changed greatly, and then flipped a coin to see if it would be for better or worse. BBCS2, from what I hear, might actually be a tweak to make things less bad. I think BBCS2 might be something I can actually play, if Noel isn't a bottom barrel bitch like in CS. I'd wouldn't mind playing a newer game.

I like how there seems to be a subset of players that all they play is BB, kinda like how there were GG-only players back in the day. I guess that's one good thing about Arcsys throughout the years, in that they make fighting games that people who don't play fighting games want to play...

So they network the cabs and upload the patch to existing systems? Or do they just put it on a HD? Or is the network just used to validate the software, like some "Genuine Advantage" bs that gets nixed by some torrented app?

Are they trying to avoid the whole "Taito type X^2 == Dreamcast" scenario all over again? They could just add some sort of unique digital signature to each copy, so that if it gets into the wild once more they can just check such instances against the signature to determine the origin of the leak.

Someone should buy a BBCS2 cab so I can see if that game sucks as well.
