  4. As far as the dance goes, the best thing I've seen is 6P, summon, 2D (dog bite), unsummon, summon. You have to get good at summon confirming, but it's a nice, cheap way to get Raoh. I love the get ghosts and corner someone, then jack their guard bar through nonsense j.h and basic ghost strings, get it flashing and unsummon. It bounces on CH, so you can summon afterwards, and if you've got the tension, you can RC summon into Raoh. +1 on block is just fluff Edit: 2D is arguably better than 2S, but 2S has some deceptive range on it. It's a nice poke for when you're JUST outside of 2D range. It won't look like it will connect, but it does. Stagger on CH is nice too.
  5. wat Zappa's 5D has 24 frames of startup and is choreographed as all hell. Raoh's 5D is tied for second fastest at 22 frames and is fairly subtle since the animation looks like a whopping 3 sprites long. I abuse the shit out of Raoh 5D, it's amazing. Go into Edguy, Edguy RC DA loop in the corner.

  7. Pot Vs. Zappa isn't fun by any stretch, but at the same time, it's not completely unwinnable. Dog rapes pot, and as long as you dance around outside potbuster range, you'll be ok. 8f backdash is so hot. FRC on summon is asking for the unobtainable, I know. How about instead we get a FB summon that is a hidden low attack in the same way that May can hide her dust, and it gives you a summon and +1 soul on hit. That way Zappa can have FB shenanigans and bait people with flashy lights and a safe on block summon. I still want that throw invuln though :/ 5D works, but as far as dusts go, it's pretty obvious. It's not Venom/Jam subtle.

  12. I like to use it in different summon strings once the guard bar is flashing. Plus, NO ONE expects you to unsummon Raoh, so crank that guard bar and gimmick that round. Another good one is throw, meaty f.s, run up 2k > unsummon, meaty f.s, 6p > unsummon, meaty f.s, 5p > throw. Shit's hilarious.
  13. Naked j.h will only hit as a crossup, it has no front hitbox, sadly. I wouldn't recommend j.d, as it has tons of startup and recovery, so if you use that as a jump in, get ready to be thrown. J.s is better for air spacing your opponent, unless you have ghosts. Have a field day then.
  14. Zappa's air game is some pretty weak shit, but he has a few tools/tricks he can use. For naked/sword, you can space a jump in j.k>j.s and it'll be safe, then do whatever ground string from there. Always try to end a sword string in swipe for the knockdown, then shenanigans away. Sword also has j.p>j.h, but only recommended after a knockdown. Naked has j.h, which takes some time to get used to but is pretty nice once you get the hang of it. If you land close to them, you can go into c.s, otherwise just 5p/2k/whatever. Ghost has j.h, the greatest crossup gimmick in the game. Gives knockdown. Run at them, jump over j.h. Do the same, but airdash backwards immediately j.h. Jump over slow j.h. Best shit ever. With dog I try to use 8D with jump over/airdash backwards jukes. Decent way to get orbs, but you lose pressure. On the bright side, it pisses your opponent off. With Raoh you can do a rising j.s>j.p, then jc to make it safe. Jumping in, j.s has great horizontal reach, and I'm pretty sure it goes into j.d. Zappa's weird, but he's fun to play when you get used to what he has and doesn't have. For the most part, stay grounded so that your air tricks are unexpected and land when you pull them out of the bag.
  15. Dusting this thread off, I find that Zappa's 6P is a great tool in this matchup. If you anticipate a f.s, you can 6P through it. It also goes through Venom's 2P, for some reason. 6P CH into 2H jc j.p j.s jc j.p j.s j.d is 50% on Venom, which is just awesome. I have the hardest time crossing the screen when he's spamming poolballs, there's no real opening anywhere. I can't run under the K ball, and jumping against Venom is horrible with his c.s/6P/6H. You can punish a poolball summon if you guess right, but that's about it. Zoog got to play the same Venom at FR. Any suggestions?

  17. Granted that it's been awhile since FR, but the only other Zappa I saw was (I believe) Zoogstin. The only other person I remember him playing was my roommate, FD, playing Venom. Was that you, Zoog? I was playing on the white ps2 pad, cause I'm a scrub.
  18. Well, your dominate hand is doing the motions, so I'd imagine lefties get a bit of an advantage with learning, but it eventually plateaus at the same point. You naturally become more dextrous with your dominant hand, so right handed people probably tend to press the wrong button less frequently, but lefties have better movement. It all ends up the same though.
  19. Yup. If you play someone who can airthrow/tickthrow the shit out of you, you're going to hate ABA. Similarly, if you play against a character whose moves generally give knockdown *coughMAYBULLSHITcough* then you're going to hate ABA. ABA's greatest strengths are damage, guard bar crankage and fear. Her weaknesses are player dependent for the most part. If your defense is weak as a player, your ass is getting instakilled.

  22. I can't really call it a TV when my PSP seems bigger. GG had more entries than BB and MB, but still got shat on. Sigh.
