  1. Edited my post. I'm going by last season's convention of 4 to 1st, 2 to 2nd, and 1 to 3rd. Not sure if we want to change that this season.

  3. You can use your DLC on another system as long as you're logged into XBL. You do not need to register your DLC on another system unless you want to use it offline. Not sure what happens when you get disconnected from XBL in the situation that Crosell is suggesting.
  4. Honestly, I don't really care to say too much, but I've been encouraged to say something about my thoughts on this last NCI, so I'll make it brief. -I don't mind that my streaming equip was used primarily for BB streaming. I think other people are more upset about it than I am. -I appreciate the consideration being put into streaming more GG & MB. MB especially since it's my main game & since US MB streams have been decreasing in frequency recently. -I think it's a good idea to try to encourage the communities to mingle more, which is apparently something that is being kept in mind for the next NCI's room layouts.
  5. Yeah, I ordered it from Art's Hobbies before they experienced server problems. Wait for them to recode the case builder it I guess. Although, note that the HRAP is metric and the TE is standard. I would recommend getting a metric multi-tool set if you want to open & close your HRAP often. I just picked up one @Fry's for, like, $8 and it works great.
  6. I can't make it, but I just wanted to say that it's no longer summer. ^^;
  7. I have a legit copy of MBAA. If you want, I can let you borrow it & you can play w/Sean, Jeff, & maybe Danny?
  8. I would suggest keeping the NCI ranbats on a fixed weekend each month if we can. Regularity helps everyone plan ahead. Also, a tourney in another region is a bad reason for us to change our ranbat schedule, no matter how many players will be going to that. I would prefer that our ranbats always be on the first Saturday every month. That's how we've been running NCI for, like, a year. Also, I've been lazy to post earlier, but good ranbat guys. It was a nice venue & everything ran relatively smoothly. I would have liked for more MB entrants, but I'm sure attendance will pick up again since there we were missing a few notable NCI MB regulars. Also, we could have used another CRT or two in the GG/MB room, so we could have more casual setups, but all in all, it wasn't too bad. So, it seems like I won't have two audio mixers next time around cause I traded my 502 & some stuff to my coworker for his 802. That means that if we want two streams going simultaneously again, someone else is gonna have to step up to the plate and bring one. Either that, or just go with a computer mic. In general, I don't guarantee that I will allot all my equipment to stream primarily BB any time from now on. It's not that I don't appreciate BB and the community, but I want to make sure that MB & GG get some quality streaming equipment. They're the games I play & it's my equipment. That said, as it stands, assuming we run two streams again, I can guarantee that I won't have a mixer for the BB stream, but I can probably provide most everything else for your guy's stream. But I reserve the right to use my equipment where I want to.
  9. OK, I was able to pick up the component splitter. Also, I worked out a way to get both of my mics to work, so we can have 2 commentators at the same time. Stream + recording is a go! BTW, which streaming site are we using? I can dl the client beforehand and get things ready it in prep for tomorrow. I got a new laptop & I still have to install and config things on it.
  10. We can split the audio out from the mixer to both your & my PVR. Bam! One commentary for both stream & recording. I'll swing by a Radio Shack during lunch. Last I saw, those component splitters were easy enough to get in store. I'm also looking into how to potentially get that other mic working.
  11. I have the Hauppauge HD-PVR & the Behringer XENYX 502. I was thinking of picking up this splitter from Radio Shack. That should cover basically everything. Only drawback is that I can provide 2 mics, but I haven't gotten a preamp to use the second mic through 1/4", since there's only one XLR on the 502. So unless I can find one in a store, there will be only one mic for commentary.
  12. I have a component splitter, but I was careless & broke it. Last I was there, I saw that Radio Shack carries powered component splitters. I could pick one up if needed.
  13. I'll bring a streaming setup then. I have equip to stream in up to 720p.
  14. A classroom number would be nice, as helpful as Sean's directions are.
  15. Arcana Heart 3 1st - Kasumi LOVE (Akane)/Tono (Konoha) 2nd - Shirogoma (Angelia)/Kyouken (Zenia) 4th (tie) - Andou (Catherine)/Banbaban (Heart) and Oen (Kira)/Buchi (Yoriko) Kasumi LOVE & Tono won AH last year too. ^^;
  16. Pre-reg is completely unnecessary. I bracketed the 25 entrants for NCI v.2.0 MB in 20ish mins. Most of that time was typing in the names of entrants. Honestly, everyone running brackets knows what they're doing and they can do it in 30 mins or less. I opted to make brackets at the NCI minor close to the starting time because I wanted to make sure I got all the entrants. If I made brackets the night before and there was an entrant or two that I would need to seed, but they didn't pre-reg, I'd have to completely remake the bracket anyway. I agree to raising the entrance for every game to $5, not including venue/etc. If not at this one, then the following ones. It's nice to accommodate for newer players, but there needs to be some incentive for the regulars too. $5 entry is really not too expensive. I will bring the usual 2 full MB setups. I'll extend my offer I made for the minor again: if anyone provides me with a CRT, I'll lend my LCD to BB for a setup.
  17. If we have to split up via regions for practical reasons, I don't see why the bay should be split up between south bay and east bay. It fragments a community that shouldn't be broken up because most players can, within reason, make it to a venue in either location. With that in mind, will players have to be discouraged from entering both? Because having the same players taking points at both ranbats might 1. disrupt fair assessment of players because they're being beaten by good player(s) who should be in another region and 2. might discourage some players because they know that the top player from the other region will probably just take the spot they could potentially earn in the top 3. I personally think BB ranbats should not be split up into regions at all. It just discourages people from attending ranbats out of their region. The bay should definitely not be split up. I can kinda understand Sac being separated because it's not reasonable for some people to travel to the bay, or vice versa, all the time, but I think it should still be discouraged. My suggestion, assuming we can find a suitable venue, is one ranbat on a fixed weekend each month somewhere in the bay. It'll be easier on people's schedules, it'll be convenient for people playing multiple games, and it'll be easy for people to plan for ahead of time. People who are further away can arrange to carpool or something. I see the plan John suggested and I can only imagine that it'll lead to the fragmentation of the BB community and the further separation of the GG/MB and BB communities.
  18. Yeah, I'm pretty certain I won't be there by 9:30. Probably 10:00-10:30. Deal with it. I'll have 2 MB & 1 BB setups coming in my car.
  19. It's sounding like there's enough to run, give or take, 4 setups of each game now!
  20. Why is TV separate from CRT & flatpanel/LCD? I'd imagine you only need one CRT & one flatpanel for the stream setups. Can anyone who knows, probably Coopa, enlighten us on what is required of the streaming TVs? What kind of input will the standard def and high def streams be using? Also, to make it clear, so far, you guys have my LCD + Chun's PS3 guaranteed as a BB setup. I think that's all I've seen in this thread. Chun's TV is a SD CRT & I called it for MB. It's already counted in the MB setups. I won't bring my PS3 unless it's really needed.
  21. Cool. I call that TV for MB. In exchange, you BB guys get a 24" LCD. It has inputs for HDMI, DVI, VGA, component, S-video, and composite. Hook up however you like. I can also provide a PS3 as extra service, but I don't have the game or the DLC unless someone puts their account on my system.
  22. I'm going to repeat my offer. If anyone can provide me with a CRT to use, I will allow you guys to use my monitor for a BBCS setup. It's not the ASUS that Evo uses, but it's a BenQ FP241W, which is a really nice monitor that has little to no perceivable lag. I know we play MB on it regularly w/o complaint. And I know I can personally land some tight links on it. We already have 3 full MBAA setups confirmed. I will bring 2 and Tone will bring 1.
  23. I'll be there. I'll bring 2 MBAA setups. If anyone can provide me with another CRT, I'll let you guys use my monitor for a BBCS setup. It's a BenQ FP241W. Lagless as far as I can tell.
  24. We should probably be talking about the minor planning. We have anything cemented yet? Is there anything you want us to do, John?
  25. To be completely accurate, we were never officially banned. They just posted a "no personal gaming" notice. Also, that only applies to the bowling alley, which wouldn't be large enough to accomodate for 100ish people anyway. NorCal MB reguarily sessions @SJSU in the student union and/or a communal room in the student dorms. SJSU is probably just as viable as any other school. It just depends on whether we'd be able to get a classroom or something like that.
