  1. Bringing this thread back from the dead! June Melty Results 11 entrants 1 Abstract 2 elbow_gloves aka Tsubasa 3 thighhighs aka Dakanya 4 drill_hair aka Tone 5 FataCon 5 ehuangsan 7 Randou 7 hime_cut aka tenkai 9 DJcream 9 Amoirsp 9 NewtypeSEED
  2. So with June NorCal Install in less than a week, I better announce that I intend to run a side tourney for Senko no Ronde DUO. I'm thinking $1 buy-in, but if not enough people want to throw down money on a game they'll probably be playing for the first time, I can make it free entry. I should be able to get two setups up and running the game, so people can play a bit before I begin the tourney probably in the evening. GET HYPE!!

  4. We need a time block for Senko no Ronde DUO! I'm getting it this week! :3 And we should have enough people to stream some MBAA. We didn't really play much this last gathering, but we had at least 5-6 people who can play it.
  5. I actually didn't end up playing MB, but it's OK. I got in some games of GG where I didn't feel like I completely sucked. ^^; & mapo tofu was hype. Kinda rough around the edges, but it certainly turned out better than I expected. It was fun. Thanks for having us, Rod. I'll consider coming over more often when you have gatherings. That's Danny's stick. He runs full Seimitsu in it. LS-32-01 stick & PS-15 buttons. All Seimitsu buttons feel the same, IMO. Can't say the same about sticks. I feel a difference between the LS-32/33 series and the LS-55/56 series. Although that may have just been because the LS-56 I've tried was mounted in an HRAP3, which has a weird mounting plate setup. I guess that's a non-issue though cause the LS-32 is the preferred Seimitsu stick to swap into a HRAP2. Get them off Lizardlick (http://lizardlick.com/) or Akihabarashop (http://akihabarashop.jp/).
  6. lawl. OK, sure, I'll most likely show up. Melty probably won't have such a big turnout, so if there isn't enough for a tourney, I'll just chill & play some casual GG/MB. Are AJ & Sean going to attempt dat mapo tofu?! That would be a clincher for me!
  7. If there's enough space for Melty, I can be there. :3
  8. I posted Melty results on MeltyBread, but forgot to here. ^^; May Ranbat Results 12 entrants 1 YAT (H-Tohno) 2 CT_Warrior (C-Maids) 3 Tsubasa (F/H-Arc) 4 ○○くん aka Snozz/Nandeyanen (H-Ryougi) 5 Dakanya (H-VAkiha) 5 MakotoCCO aka tenkai (H-Aoko, F-Kouma) 7 Lastelixir (H-Roa) 7 Riotblade (C-Arc) 9 FataCon (C-Miyako) 9 ehuangsan (H-Tohno) 9 Bonita_Applebum aka Sarsapari (F-Miyako) 9 Tone (F-Ciel) AJ, write in who some of those people are. At least anyone using an alias in the top 3, so John can accurately update points.
  9. If there is enough interest in MBAA, I can probably assemble a good deal of the NorCal Melty community for that weekend.
  10. Not sure if you heard, but DUO was pushed back to May 20. I wasn't intending to bring my 360 for SnR 1...
  11. Sure, I'll do that. I should be able to do a quick on-the-spot fix for you if you want to use your stick for the tourney. Hey, tell you what. Your stick is falling apart. Since I'm going to be doing some work on my sticks soon anyway, if you let me take your stick after the tourney, I'll rewire it for you. And as extra service, since I think looking at your stick bothers me more than it bothers you, I'll offer you some spare Sanwa parts I have lying around (click for picture) for free. Chances are, I won't use them again anyway. They're all used, but they should all have light to moderate wear on them. Not like the heavy wear on your current parts. I don't have any pink buttons, but I think I have more white buttons than pictured, so if I can find them, I can swap the plungers with the pink ones from your buttons. They'll be like those white/green buttons pictured w/pink instead of green. Tell me if you're interested.
  12. May Norcal Install this Saturday. Anyone coming, please break your $20s before arrival. It makes all our lives easier. This is especially important for anyone who intends to participate in the 2v2, where the entry is $3 a head.
  13. Do I hear Melty ver. 1.0?! I can provide the game and converters!!
  14. I have a couple of opinions I'd like to voice. 1. I understand that BB is a big game & it probably deserves top billing, but I can't help but feel like it's kinda disrespectful to the GG & MB communities. The GG & MB are the first & core games of NorCal Install. I realize that the BB community is active & supportive of this endeavor too, but they haven't been supporting NorCal Install each month like we have. In fact, I think the minor will be the first NorCal Install with BBCS. At the very least, GG should receive equal billing. 2. I disagree with SSFIV. I recognize that it's a big game. I recognize that it will bring in numbers. But I think that adding it to a NorCal Install is stepping too far away from, what I thought to be, one of the core goals of NorCal Install: to promote lesser appreciated games. I let T6 slide cause, at least according to Derrick, the community isn't nearly as big & active as I would have thought. But SF would overshadow everything & regulate every other game to 2nd billing status for most attendees. I can't help but feel like adding SSFIV is cheaping out & giving in to mainstream just for numbers. Those being said, I propose one of two things: 1. Drop SSFIV. 2. Remove the NorCal Install branding. It can be related to & supported by the core NorCal Install group, but to imply that it is a direct extension of our ranbat series is something I'm sure not only I disagree with. But as long as it's called something else, I can't really complain. Whatever happens, I'll still be there to run Melty & help out where needed. Disagreements or not, I support John's effort & I feel like the tourney needs to happen.

  16. I hear from Dakanya that our benefactor is running a little late, but he'll be @the venue soon. Just an update for anyone who arrived early & has access to the forums right now.
  17. As the guy running MBAA, I just want to say that Melty entrants will only get special treatment if 1. they have points and/or 2. there are multiple out-of-region entrants, who I feel should be separated. I just dislike the idea of rewarding people for, what I consider to be, a negligible reason. Besides, it makes my job easier. I like randomizing everyone, but the seeds. =P
  18. March MBAA Ranbat Results 17 Entrants 1 CT_Warrior 2 The Kenyan aka Qaenyin 3 YAT 4 snozz aka Nandeyanen 5 tenkai 5 Tsubasa 7 louisng114 7 shizuka 9 Riotblade 9 ehuangsan 9 Dakanya 9 Digital Watches 13 Lastelixir 13 Tone 13 DJcream 13 oskar 17 NewtypeSEED
  19. Since there was no pre-reg this time, I say bracketing should be done on-site. It'll get all messy when several people no one knew was coming, show up on the day of. In fact, I suggest that brackets should be done on-site for all the ranbats. It doesn't take long. Just cut off signups 30mins before the tourney.
  20. I'll bring a setup. It'll be a monitor & PS2 w/MBAA. If really needed, I can bring GGAC+ US. The monitor is a flat panel w/minimal lag. I know I can practice on it & not have to noticably change timing when switching to a CRT. If people still don't trust it, bring more CRTs.
  21. This event suddenly got way more exciting!
